This is the worst purchase we have ever made. 16 months ago when we bought it it seemed to be the best option available for what we wanted. As soon as the guarantee ran out in April we have had nothing but problems with it. The customer service is very poor and in the last 4 months the washer has worked for around 4 weeks in total. The rest of the time it has been waiting to be fixed. I have just had another repair done this morning (4th one in 3 weeks) and already it seems to have another fault... this time the wash cycles are taking far longer than they should.

DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE and DO NOT BY A HOTPOINT/INDESIT or any other make of appliance in that family. The customer service is appalling and they will not replace the product.

The Hotpoint BWD129 keeps breaking down with different faults and did not last at all, I am buying something else from a different maker.

This washer/dryer machine was part of an integrated kitchen in a new Bovis home bought less than 3 years ago.

Have I been lucky and had almost 3 years use out of it? I am having someone come and look at it tomorrow.... is it worth repairing??

I tried calling Hotpoint customer service but after 3 attempts I gave up - they never even answered my call, no automated menus, nothing!

    Any advice helpful, thanks....

DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE! Comfortably the worst appliance I've ever brought. Thirteen break down calls and counting. Long gaps to get an engineer out - usually a couple of weeks. As a result I've owned this machine for ten months and in total I've not had the use of it for around four of those. Repeated calls to awful and rude customer services who insist they have a 'right' to repair it. They've been trained to keep pulling out that line and when that's not enough they blame you for 'use ...

Hotpoint BWD129 broke after 11 months. 4 months on and I still dont hare the use of it. First the plastic bunber bars fell off tearing clothes, then the pump jammed causing kitchen flood, then the electronics blew the house mains after boiling my clothes, kitchen flooded a sencond time, blah blah blah. So Far replacement parts include... A knob (that cracked from heat), door catch, 2 curcuit boards , clomplete wiring, pump. Im still waiting for the engineer to repair the existing problem ...

This Hotpoint BWD129 washer dryer has twice sucked small items between the drum and seal- once ripping an item. This has twice blocked the machine causing flooding in my kitchen. I have only had the model 4 months and yet I have had to have three engineers look at it (the first one couldn't diagnose the problem)- and they said that there is nothing wrong with the machine, but that they had never seen anything like this before. I can only conclude that this is a design flaw of the machine, but ...

We bought a BWD129 about 4 years ago - we also bought an extended warranty from the retailer. I wish we hadn't bought the extended warranty as it would have been cheaper and far less hassle to throw this noisy and break down prone machine away rather than have the hassle of dealing with the customer service centre and engineers. Our latest experience (and unfortunately not the only one) The machine started making an enormous racket. We call out an engineer. He turns up on time and diagnoses the ...

I purchased a Hotpoint BWD129 machine back in February hasn't always being reliable but so eventually the inevitable happened so I contacted the customer service line and spoke to the most unpleasant woman who advised me it will take 2 weeks to get an engineer out,i accepted this and explained only there in the afternoon so they day of the call out the engineer called me at 10.30am to say he was at the door that he was there and if he has time he might call back.so he did find the time the motor ...

Got this Hotpoint BWD129, very poor build quality. You might think that a name like Hotpoint (Indesit are their parent company) would mean something in terms of quality and customer care. Well, for me it wasn't. Idiots like me think that and I got weeks of hassle and very poor customer care.

I have never felt moved to post on one of these sites before, but my experience with Hotpoint has left me so frustrated I have no other recourse. Customer Services has just written to me saying "they consider the matter closed" - what sort of a dialogue is that?? I am out of pocket by '£70 for a plumber as their engineer flatly refused to attempt to reconnect my machine - they will not consider even a token recompense for this. Seven visits in total by repairmen for one item. I have no ...

I would not recommend this Hotpoint BWD129 washer dryer to anyone, my laundry was totally ruined. I had repair man out 6 times! I didn't think the product support was of a very good standard. Even after it had been repaired it still didn't work. The temperature had a mind of its own and it would start drying clothes half way through wash cycle.

Hugely unreliable waste of money. It has a quick wash which is useful. The first machine was replaced within 2 months of purchase for failing, after a further 9 months the replacement has also decided it doesn't want to wash. Hotpoint customer services are unhelpful to say the least and very slow in getting engineers out - I guess because their appliances are so unreliable (my fridge freezer is also failing). I shall stick with Miele's in the future. They may cost £££ but b ...

This Hotpoint BWD129 Washer Dryer is awful and the Customer Service Dept are even worse - no one returns my calls, engineers don't turn up and emails go unanswered. When it was escalated for a supposed quicker delivery on the replacement, I got a later deliver date... how does that work? AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Spend your money on something else. I spent £500 for a dead white elephant in my kitchen and a new full time job in pursuing it's replacement. I am still awaiting ...

The Hotpoint BWD129 has to rank amongst the worst appliances I have ever owned, I previously had 15 years completely trouble free washing with a Hoover washing machine only to purchase this which broke down after about 2 months - bring back my old one any day!

I've had the Hotpoint BWD129 washer dryer for just over a year. I've had the engineer out once for a pen that dislodged a plug at the back, resulting in the kitchen being flooded.

Overall, I find the machine OK. It takes an age to wash a normal everyday wash, so I tend to put it on quick wash quite often.
