    having used them for over 5 years i can find no fault first reviewer as stated obviously done something wrong, i use them for both 5.1 and music with a yamaha amp, my dogs broke 2 drive units by knockin them off stands just to say i am gutted, they are no way to bassy and actualy find them quite soft, house of flying daggers for example is as clean as a whistle, on the music side i often have a 6ft david gilmour head in the centre of my living room, and mike oldfield they defo do the music justice.

    As a budget speaker I think the TDL Nucleus 2 is pretty good. Good sounding small speaker, takes a fair amount of power, quite efficient. I did find the bass is a bit boomy, but blocking the rear port solved that problem.

    Out of four different sets of stand-mounted speakers around the £100-mark, the TDL Nucleus 2 were by far and away the best sound quality. Good response from a range of music types.

    The TDL Nucleus stereo speakers are good budget speakers the previous reviewer obviously cannot wire speakers properly and has connected his cable to the top terminals on the back of the speaker, thats why it chuffs. The top terminals are for bi wiring. Buy these speakers if you find them cheap and look to bi wire to get the best out of them you wont regret it paired with a good budget amp and CD player.

    If you are looking for an air conditioning unit, but can not afford one, then buy the TDL Nucleus 2 speakers. They blow so much air out of the bass port, I was afraid they were going to fly off the stands (they were not even that close to the wall). The bass does not even sound like bass, the bass in any song disappears and is converted into a terrible blowing noise, and everything around the speakers rattles.
