    Good Points: Food.

    Bad Points: Noise.

General comments: Well this is the 2nd time I've visited this hotel, we got a cracking deal and even though I said I wouldn't come back it made no sense not to for the price. Everything was very much the same with a few exceptions. There are now far more sunbeds available, and even if you went down at midday you could get a bed (bearing in mind this is peak season I was impressed). The staff were, as usual excellent and the courtesy bus to the beach very useful.
Food was brilliant as always but you do get bored after a couple of weeks (everything starts tasting similar), we tended to go to the Gran Chapparal shopping centre next door to the hotel and get some good old English grub for a change.
There's one thing still why I wouldn't recommend this hotel to a friend....the noise! We stayed there when Germany beat England in the football. It was a nightmare. There was so much abuse from the german youths I actually reported them to reception (and I'm an extremely laid back bloke) on two occasions, once for a early morning yelling contest in the stairwell and once for a domestic on the balcony.
Have to say the majority of the german visitors there this time were polite and considerate, there were just a minority which let the side down which is not what you need when you have kids with you. However, I accept you could get that anywhere, but would expect better in a 3 Star + hotel of this calibre.
Oh, one last thing, the entertainment, both during the day and on a night is better than it used to be, it drives you batty with the same songs over and over after a while but its a good laugh all the same.

The Riu Waikiki Hotel is in a good location in Playa Del Ingles, and there is a courtesy bus to the beach. Easy access to Yumbo and Kasbah.

I'm sure there are plenty of German people that are perfectly polite, but they obviously stayed in a different hotel. In my opinion, for English people, consider other options before booking this hotel.
