My 2 sons and I returned to Acorn Adventure this summer, choosing the 2 centre option of the Ardeche and Narbonne having had a fabulous time at Villeneuve last summer! There is never a dull moment but you have to have a spirit of adventure and be prepared to 'rough it' a bit as this is an adventure holiday - not a 5 star spa treatment :) You get out what you put in and if you go with the right attitude nothing can beat the experience. I am a single parent and the sense of community and the friendships you find on this type of holiday is brilliant! The instructors were awesome and socialised with the teenagers even when they were off duty. There were tears when we left but the whole experience restores your faith in human nature and confirms that technology and material possessions are not essential for a good time!

My 7 year old daughter and I had a fantastic week at the Acorn centre at Tan Troed in the Brecon Beacons. The weather was poor with rain on and off throughout the week but we had a wonderful time nonetheless. It was the first time she and I have been away just the two of us since I became a single parent and we BOTH really enjoyed ourselves.

There's loads to do with activities laid on throughout the day and into the evening. The food was fabulous - contrary to what a couple of reviewers have ...

Acorn Adventure is a great value holiday. the accommodation is basic but everything is included and there is no waiting round. our kids were always kept entertained and each day brought something new. some of the instructors struggled but most were fantastic and there were tears when we left. overall a grreat holiday and we wish we could have staid longer.

Great! Really thought acorn adventure was worth it. The instructors were young and full of beans! The activities were very unique. They need to improve on accomodation and food but otherwise it was fine!!! The evenings were full of fun activities and the bar gave the children a chance to feel more adult. The tents did drip so watch out for that but all in all we got enough sleep. The website gives no clue of pricing so it was Hard at first to find out about the value of money for this. But afte ...

a very stressfull boring week at tan troed acorn adventure spent most of my time walking to use the villages public toilets rather than use the dirty wet muddy toilets at acorn. some of the instructors are perfectly decent friendly and safe but the other half are basicly pretending they are in the army barking orders at the children. stay well away there is more adventure in your back garden.

I just got back from the Acorn in Narbonne and thought it was amazing. It is great for the family.

I think the staff are great at Acorn Adventure if your not doing an activity, you are being entertained by them, but you are most likely to be doing an activity. some people complained that we didnt get a break, but i LOVED IT. what is the point in going if you dont want to do the sports. ACORN IS GREAT! :)

Acorn Adventure is a good value holiday in Brecon Beacons. Kids loved the activities, and playing with the other kids. Staff generally very good and fun. Food average, but enough of it! Good combination of watersports and land-based activities.
If you are looking for a budget family holiday which will keep the kids happy this is fine.

Good points, some of the activities and the showers. Bad points, almost everything! Instructors. and mainly the food, in my opinion it was actually rubbish on a plate. I wanted to go home. I would not recommend.

On the whole Acorn Adventure holiday was good value, and the children had a great time, and we had some fun, but most of all we enjoyed seeing them have fun. If you were really unhappy with the food, it might have still been good value if you went out for a few meals. And given that the food varies between centres, you might be luckier than we were. Don't expect much in the way of canoeing and climbing instruction, as you just get the basics for safety and fun. If you can't stand long coach jour ...
