    Had stayed at Seashells in Oct 2009 on a transit accommodation provided by Srilakan Airways. It is in a perfect location, with rooms overlooking the beautiful sea. Restaurant service is average (I felt that they consider transit passengers as lower grade customers). Menu choice was very very limited, and no option was given even on payment basis. Rooms are just ok, and bathrooms are not upto the mark. As regards to room amenities, it just gets an average rating. Staff were friendly, some of them very attendive. We in fact had to take two transits during our onward and return journeys, and were provided the same boring set menu with no choices at all.

    On the whole its a great hotel for a stop over or between tours.
    During the day time their is a swimming pool and the staff are about to assist and serve drinks and snacks. The beach is great with sunbeds and shades, I got a bit of hassle from the hawkers and sellers, which gets on your nerves a bit, just tell them you are not interested they do go away in the end.
    On the whole I enjoyed myself.

    I stayed at the Hotel Sea Shells during the monsoon season, 30/7//08 - 13/8/08 and although it was pretty quiet most of the day and evening, their are bars down Lewis road that have more entertainment if required. I enjoyed my recent stay and they made me feel very wellcome. I say hello to all the receiption staff and waiters who were always their to give me any help I required.

    I would recommend Sea Shells hotel to everyone, all the staff are excellent the situation is brilliant and I will be going back there next year without fail. Customer service is absolutely superb a special mention must be made to the assistant manager. Food is first class and all cooked fresh. Very hard to find any negatives, beach is a bit untidy but sea is beautiful.

    Hotel Sea Shells in Negombo is clean, friendly and relaxed. We booked last minute and as we had paid a fortune, we were pleasantly surprised with the whole hotel. We received a great welcome - cool drink and a hot towel.
    The room was spotless - albeit a little dated - but this is an excellent base - a few restaurants close by - and other hotels - and no-one minds if you dine at the other hotels.
    The staff are friendly and wanting to help you to enjoy your holiday - nothing is too much trouble. ...
