I am writing this as a massive warning to anyone looking at the Brava Park Aparthotel. Don't bother!
The reception staff from the 1st night were unhelpful and sarcastic! When we got to our room the bath room door would not properly close shut as the door was too big for the door frame, and the fridge was un useable. it was not cold and smelt awful each time it was opened. However being on our holidays we decided not to let it get to us and not complain and still have a good time. The location of the hotel is good and the area is nice, All was well..... Our only complaints so far was the room and the bathroom door and fridge.
We stayed half board and were hoping for a varied selection of food, this was not the case at all! The breakfast was beans, fried eggs, some kind of peperoni and fatty fatty bacon if you wanted a cooked one that is, if not there is melon and continental available. Breakfast was manageble, but their main course for evening meal consisted of fish, fish, fish and more fish! There was the odd pasta and chips with the obvious salad selection, but most of the main dishes were fish, one night we had 4 diferent fish dishes! and couldn't believe our eyes when on the last night they had chicken!
However all of the above would not have led me to write this review, what has is the events that took place the day before we left.
Having not had a safe in our room or been advised on where they were in the hotel, we had been locking our money safely in our cases everyday and locking the room, the only people going in there were the cleaners! on our last full day we spent 2 hours at the beach, when we returnd to our room, we noticed that on opening the door, our key only needed to turn once to open the door, when in fact it was a double lock door that we turned twice before leaving the room in order to lock. My friend then saw her money envelope on her pillow? She had locked it in her case before we left. A few split seconds later all 3 of us looked to where our money had been and it was gone! Our mobile phones and music players had been left, they had just taken the cash! There had been no forced entry and our room was as we had left it, no mess what so ever, had it not been for the lock and the money envelope we would not have noticed anyone had been in the room. We were panic struck and realised straight away that someone who had a key from the hotel had done this, and had known where our money was hidden exactly! We reported it to the manager straight away and the reception staff, we told them we wanted everyone with a key seaching! The hotel did nothing. Alll they said was "go to the police" we had to ask them to call the police for us, at which eventually they did, but they did not and would not believe it was done with a key! They offered us no sympathey or help, they did not later come to see us to see how we had gone on with the police and did not care. We did manage to find out off one hotel recepionist that it had happened 6 times in the previous week! But still they had not increased their security or even advised us to take a safe when we arrived! We had also stayed in on the saturday night before our money was stolen and at 11:30 we received a knock at the door, when we answered it, there was an official looking man with a walkie talkie in his had, he asked how may people were staying in the room. When i replied 4 and then asked why he needed to know he said something in Spanish and made the hand gestures to say it was ok and never mind? 2 minutes later another knock at the door and a cleaner gave us 4 towels? We thought it was suspicious that on a saturday night at 11:30 pm a cleaner was still there, but we figured it must be a routine check. Obviously a few days later when our money had been taken we realised that maybe they were going to do it that saturday night had we been out. We asked the reception staff and the manager about this and if they did have popley doing routine checks that night on the rooms and the had no idea what so ever about it!
All in all this place turned out to be awful and unhelpful and we had the worse expericence i have ever had whist being away.
