Was a bit worried about buying a car from Cargiant after reading some of the reviews on here, but nether the less thought I'd go and at least have a look at the place after finding a few decent priced cars online. Drove down and got lost, doubt you can find the amount of cars for sale any where in the UK (Probably Europe, Maybe the world!). They've got 3 areas which (I guess) hold about 1000 cars in each of them. Like some of the reviews on here I agree I did see some cars which were not good condition, but majority of them looked good/ok to me (Maybe I'm not a fussy as others when buying a used car). The sales team weren't as knowledge-able as you'd probably like, but I done my home work before I went down there comparing makes/models/specs/insurance groups/mpg/etc... so knew what I was looking for...
Anyway bought an Audi A4 on my 2nd visit for £3000 less than my local Audi dealer was selling the same cars for (Auto Diesel with Leather, DVD Based Sat Nav, But had done 15k more). The test drive was basic and the only down side of buying @ Cargiant. A good positive was a free 7day car insurance which enabled me to drive the car and tax it.
About a week or so after picking the car up a warning light came up on the dash board. Rang Cargiants aftersales service, they avised me to take my car to my local dealer. Was worried as took it to my local Audi dealer who said it needed some sort of filter which wasn't cheap, BUT Cargiant covered the cost no questions asked. Have had no problem since, beautiful car...
Overall review would be, don't expect red carpet treatment or a used car in brand new condition. Do your home work first know what you want, then wait until they've got one... there ARE bargains to be had.

Good website, information generally only 1 day behind. However, the experience of buying a car from cargiant London is no difference to the worst dealer you ever come across; actually it's as risky as buying a car from auction!
Being a used car enthusiast, i can honestly say approximately 50 out of 2000 on display vechile are worth considering; and thoes 50 cars are generally really really good price and good condition. Yes, almostly 90% of their cars are ex-company vechile, mostly have up- ...- Read Guest's review (122 words)

Went to cargiant a couple weeks ago, impressed by the sheer size, there are three areas which the cars are split into, I intended to purchase a BMW three series, but due to a rude and aggressive sales manager I've opted to leave, but before I left and went across the road to make a complaint, spoke to the general manager who understood our needs, we ended up buying an Audi A4, Don't be put off by the small minority of rude staff as the majority of very polite and willing to help- Read Guest's review (93 words)

I phoned Car Giant ahead to make sure that the car i wanted was still in stock .then i ask if i could drive away the same they and they said that's fine. on arrival i found it very hard to get parked as the site it was placed on was a narrow road industrial estate and it was very busy.when i got parked i went to look at the car an noticed it was very dirty covered in scratches i turned to the sale rep and said its not very clean since its meant to have been valeted he said oh no we only get them ...- Read Guest's review (289 words)

Hello All,
I bought a toyota car for £ 6K two weeks ago from Car Giant, the very next day I got the check engine light came on my dash board, I called there unfriendly staff who is not intrested to speak at all, they asked me to bring the car back to them to repair.
I took the car back to them, they change the air flow meter, which took them 4 days to do this change, and next day I had my car the same issue came again.
I called them again about this issue and they asked me to give car b ...- Read Santosh43's review (183 words)

Our finance deal didnt come through as quickly as we hoped but we had left a deposit on the car we had hoped to buy. We left several messages for the car salesman to get back in touch to let us know what was happening only to find that he had sold the car but hadn't told us. We had to travel back to Southampton to get our deposit refunded. I have to say based on my experience I would not use Car Giant again or recommend them.

Some websites promote car giant ' s prices as being 3% under trade price " this figure needs to be viewed with caution as the car I bought was actually 9%+ over the trade price, as calculated by whatcar.co.uk (more of why I bought from cargiant later).
In their defence, the mechanical checks the company make are clearly comprehensive, and their website is well laid out (with comprehensive pictures) but unfortunately this is a drop in the ocean compared to what ' s wrong.
So what went wrong? ...- Read plmy's review (727 words)

I bought a 2 year old Renault Megane from Car Giant, one corporate owner with 40k on the clock. The viewing experience was hassle-free, they left us alone to spend as much time with the car as we wanted, we just asked for the keys. Massive selection as well, and their web site seems to be generally pretty up to date to me, which would be good if you are coming from a long way away. Test drives for us were very limited - it seems like we went about 400 yards down the road and got into second gear ...- Read mikeblanche's review (321 words)

Car Giant was good value for the car we purchased, it was quite quick to sort out the car we wanted .
The part exchange Car Giant gave us was rubbish, wish i had given my part/ex to my mate , £1150 for a 2002 imaculate Mondeo TDCi !! .... Also i literally had to shout at the very pushy salesman trying to sell me warranties i never wanted.
If you want a nearly new or fairly new car go to car giant, but it could work out better value to sell your car privately, also beware of the hard se ...- Read sarapaul102's review (113 words)

I got there at 10am to avoid the rush and was immediately seen to and taken to the cars of choice. I saw a car I liked but wanted to see what I could get part exchange. Any cars that are older than 4 years old are sold at auction. This is where the user car dealers buy there cars 'sold as seen', so they don't get much for them. My car had a Parkers value of £2810 part-ex, Car Giant offered me £1200, so as much as there cars are cheap, I got a better overall deal at a regular used ...- Read bigbadandy's review (171 words)

I bought a BMW X3 from Car Giant. Looked it over, took it for a test drive (couldn't get over 20mph as they don't let you do a full test drive) and all seemed fine.
As soon as I got onto the roads to take it home I discover the brakes were juddering and any attempts to push it to 50-60mph resulted in a full loss of power. The air filter has never been serviced and the turbo was in bits (amongst other things).
Long story short, they sold me a car in an awful condition and in need of work, I have ...- Read woodrowuk's review (259 words and 3 comments)

Cargiant has a huge site with thousands of used cars. And what was important for me: there were 62 Vauxhall Corsas to choose from! Their price was better than at other used car dealers: from the same money I could buy one with an Air Con.
Although their services are not unbeatable, I think Cargiant is still a good option because of the price and the great choice of cars.- Read Kata's review (83 words)

The whole experience is like waiting for an airplane, and very much like a sausage factory as they send you from department to department. There is no pressure whilst viewing cars however, as soon as you show interest your hit with a tonne of hard selling..
Do you want warranty?
Do you want gap plan?
If you refuse either, they spend 30 mins arguing with you to take it..
By all means go take a look, however just be aware and prepare yourself for their sales tactics and hard sell.
