Complete Rip off!! My friend recently started Working for a car dealership and has looked over my contract with car craft and is now trying her best to help me get out of it because i am being ripped off Paying over triple the amount the car is even worth. They deserve nothing more then to be in administration First i looked online and asked for details about a specific car and the man would not stop ringing me to get me to get the car i told him i wanted a few days to think about it but he kept calling back and when i told him i couldn't get up their that day he was saying he would pick me up from my house. After being told the car i wanted was their i got their and it wasn't when i mentioned it to them their it was as if he was saying its not his problem and just told me to look round and walked off. And the man working their took my mobile number with out my permission and started to text me asking me if i would like to go out so they cant even keep your personal details private!!!!! Everything i was told about payments and prices and about getting service an i was told id get my MOT as well its all lies when i rang up to book in they told me i had got it wrong and i have to sort all that out myself they don't cover it

“Drive Happy? Yeah Right!”

written by Henryv57 on 07/05/2015

I am not surprised this company has gone into administration. I have only ever come across a small number of nice people that worked there. The rest were just rude and pushy, especially the managers. The cars were over priced and they never gave you the finance deal they promised at the start. Was kept there for over 4 hours and they said I could have the 5 year 'Drive Happy' package for free as I was a returning good customer. Then once I had signed the paper work and they talked me through it they gave me another page that shows they added the 'Drive Happy' package for an extra £2000 on to my finance. When I questioned them about it I was told that the finance company had insisted otherwise they wouldn't give me the finance. But after 4 hours, it being nearly 9pm and after a long day at work, plus the fact they had me sign the paper work before they mentioned the extra £2000 to "save time", I left with a new car, which I like, but is costing me double what I was paying for my previous car and a lot more than if I went to Ford and brought a new Focus without having a deposit. 'Drive Happy'?!?! Well that is just the final slap in the face really, isn't it?

Dear Carcraft My name is ###### #######, in October I purchased a car "KM59OVG" a Vauxhall insignia in full confidence that this vehicle would be reliable getting me to and from my job. As I am in the British Army I require a reliable car for driving long distances regular throughout the week. Since purchasing the vehicle I have had no end of problems, starting with the discs and brakes having to be fully replaced within the first month, this had to be paid for by myself as Carcraft couldn't fit my vehicle in for a month ahead, as this was dangerous to myself and other road users I had to take it to an alternative garage to be replaced. Following this problem I had various different codes coming up on the dash board including traction control and ABS sensor. On 27.03.15 on my way home from work, my car broke down on the A61 in Nottingham. Once I had rang my breakdown cover and had it seen by the Carcraft garage, it appeared to have been the gear box and clutch which needed replacing. When the garage rang me to explain what had gone wrong, they also told me they was prepared to pay for the gear box to be fitted free of charge but was charging me £650 for the clutch to be replaced. After going through consumers advice to look into my rights after only having the car 5 months, I eventually got both the gear box and clutch replaced free of charge. Baring in mind I pay monthly for an extended package that I was sold to cover my vehicle for anything that brakes within the 5 years of purchasing the car, when I brought this up when having the previous problem I was told it didn't cover certain things, although when I was sold the car the dealer sold the package to me saying it did cover for anything within the 5 years. Whilst the car was in the garage, the dealer claimed to 'not do' courtesy cars therefore I had to go without a car for almost a week, which affected getting to work, which lead to me having to book a week off work, affecting my holidays. I got my car back on the 02.04.15 and on the 08.04.15 I found oil leaking from my car, I had a look myself to find oil had been put in the engine coolant. I am no expert myself but I know that putting oil in the engine coolant can create serious problems. I called recovery to take my vehicle back to Carcraft to be sorted as this had clearly been done by someone in the garage. Throughout all these problems I have had with my vehicle, I have been lucky to get through to the dealer themselves and when I have been able to get through they have given no interest and cooperation with the matter. As you can probably tell this is creating a lot more problems than the car is worth. The dealer has provided me with nothing but problems and I regret purchasing this car. The car cost me just over £10,000 which is a lot higher than the market value. I have looked into this matter with courage of getting rid of this car and finance as it is not worth it. I am under the Supply of goods implied Act, as the goods provided to me are not satisfactory. Carcraft themselves are suppose to provide a 120 point check before selling the car to any buyers, this has clearly not been done or the problems I have had wouldn't have occured. Therefore I would like this matter looked into and aiming to stop the whole finance. When I bought this car from Carcraft, I thought a big dealer like Carcraft would look after both me and the car if any problems occurred and I would be treat with respect. I will definitely not be recommending this company to anyone as they have been no help to me or even tried to help. If nothing is provided to me following this email I will be contacting the legal ombudsman and all papers and forums to show what such a poor service I have received and had to deal with the past 5month. I will definitely not recommend anyone using Carcraft services. Hope to hear from you soon.

Cars advertised on their website at cheap prices to entice you to visit the showroom, hassled into placing a holding deposit, then sort the fiance out and once hooked give you some excuse about why they cannot sell you that car anymore, told it was sold, at the wrong lot, engine management light had come on, all sorts of rubbish excuses. Then as they have your deposit and finance sorted try to bully you into choosing a different car which conveniently is a lot higher than your original budget!

Cars well over priced, part ex figures a joke, cash for cars quotes are lsughable and priced to get you through the door before they halve them. The staff, well one of them was ok the rest are utterly repugnant, attitudes, wide boy stance, sales pitch to death. Just be honest please

When I was 18 and looking for a car on the Internet a man from car craft phoned me after I'd shown interest online. I couldn't drive at this point so he came to pick me up and drove me to car craft leeds. Sold me a car through two finance providers and added a 5 year extended guarantee on. None of this was explained properly to me. They must of laughed as I left. I phoned when I got home to cancel the extended guarantee and was told it needed to be in writing. I wrote a letter and was told the same man that drove me home would come and collect it. He did. I didn't hear anything back from car craft and the money was taken the next month. I phoned the finance provider they said I'd have to get in touch with carcraft which I'd already done. The car purchase and how much they took advantage of me has completely ruined my life for the past 4 years paying a ridiculous amount of money. I hope they're happy with themselves.

“I am not 'driving happy' after visiting Car Craft (Leeds)”

written by D_Ian on 21/02/2015

I don't know how they're still in business, might have something to do with the fact they remove negative reviews! Pushy sales, no customer care what's so ever. They told me lie after lie to make the sale. It took over 5 weeks for me to receive the service history - When it eventually arrived it was a scanned sheet with no proof it belonged to my car. The V5 took even longer! I am still waiting to hear about my service history. The cars are overpriced, I should have shopped around. I got reeled in by a reasonable fianance offer which turned out to be false, the interest was a lot higher than I'd been told. Very bad experience, would advise any potential customers to take note of the reviews, I wish I had!! People who have rated this company 5 starts must have gone to a different branch. Very unorganised,

Went to buy an Audi window price £13,000. I had an insignia which still had finance on the car which they would "pay off and part exchange" The insignia was in negative equity aka I had £6000 left and its now worth £4500! So they added the negative equity to the car and worked out that it would cost £97 a week for 260 weeks. This is £25,500 for the Audi A4 12 reg 84,000 miles!!!!. Of course they tried additional sales tactics to rope me in but I ran straight out the door! Car craft add £3100 to what the actual value of the car is! Same spec Audi A4 similar miles I found for £9000 on autotrader. My first car from them it worked out as 29% APR!!! They do not show you what your actually paying for the car its hidden in the final paper work. They break it into weekly payments so it seems a lot less. As they say the devil is in the details. I found lots of cars had no past service history and lots of them are ex hire cars. I would not even go near them. My insignia from them was in ok shape but I did have to spend a fair amount of money to get it in perfect working order!

Lady's and gentleman please read, carcrafty will probably delete me again but I will just review in another name, when they are wrong they cannot hack the truth so the delete all your comments, I will not give up until I ruin them like they did me, I bought a cat from them for about 10 grand, the handbrake broke in the first 2 days and within the first year the glow plugs, egr valve also went wrong, they took no responsibility, with in the next year the handbrake broke again and the dual mass fly wheel and clutch also went wrong. Now just to cheer me up the turbo injector has gone and there is something else we are waiting on, we have spent nearly 4000 in 2 years, people think before you buy,  I will not stop the criticism ever!!! There customer services are rude and ignorant, if you want any advice on how bad they are just message me !!!!!!

Was told my finance had been accepted so went along to have a look. After 3 days of messing around it turned out I couldn't get the finance. A complete waste of time, if they ring and say you have been accepted, take it with a pinch of salt. They were happy to take my £250 deposit, which I'm still waiting to have returned. Really don't waste your time with these people. The cars are over priced and you could get a much better deal else where.

Now rather than just give me my deposit back they kept us like prisoners showing us car after car we didn't want happy to push cars on you and don't care if you can afford them they have no time for customers they just see there next pay check

“Don't leave you alone ”

written by Leonipower on 09/01/2015

I know it's there job to try sell you cars but boy do they go the wrong way about it. As soon as you walk through the door there's a sales assistant sticking her hand out infront of you to shake to which I got the limpest most pathetic handshake I've ever had that kind that actually makes you feel sick. Then they are telling you that you must take a seat for a chat to "explain how things work" (I'm pretty sure all car dealers work the same....) This is just a ploy to get all your details to which she got zero off me. After her droning on for a good 20 minutes she said she would walk us around the showroom to look at the cars why do I need to be escorted around this really does grind on me! I saw other couples there with other sales assistants litterally walking an inch behind them they looked pretty cheesed off too. I told her to leave us to look alone to which she did but she just couldn't resist coming over every 5 minutes "seen anything you like" I find it extremely rude and pressurising she even brought the manager over with her the last couple of times as she knew I wasn't playing ball! if you want to go somewhere where you can look around at leisure without being hassled litterally every 5 minutes stay well clear of carcraft Rochdale.

“Poor after sales service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 04/01/2015

The initial sales experience was good but unfortunately I paid for a 4yr "guarantee". After 4 months I needed the first MOT and Carcraft Chertsey use an offsite MOT station. They failed the MOT due to number plate lettering being incorrectly spaced. To cut a long story short they got it totally wrong, the number plate was fine and I spent a lot of time going to different number plate suppliers who all confirmed this. The worrying part was that the MOT station employee said he didn't care if the spacing was correct - if it looked wrong to him he would fail it again. He advised I get the number plate made up manually even if it meant it was illegally spaced. I refused to have illegal plates fitted and went round to discuss it with them - they appologised and said they made a mistake. I wasted a couple of days, taking time off work just for their errors. I then went to Carcraft to explain the situation but they would not take responsibility for the MOT station they forced me to go with. The Carcraft customer service department were less than helpful. I am concerned that Carcraft think that encouraging illegal practices is acceptable and does not fill me with confidence for the next 3 and a half years! I have emailed the Carcraft CEO and contacted my solictor to try to get out of this useless 4 yr guarantee.

“Sold me a faulty car”

★☆☆☆☆

written by TanyaCooper on 10/12/2014

So, after already experiencing the worst customer service from carcraft in the first few weeks, the trauma continues. Just six weeks after buying the car I have had numerous issues with brakes, wiper blades, flat battery and terrible communication. I now have a door that won't open from the inside, which they didn't see as a serious problem and wasn't going to get my car into workshop until 5 days after my call, I bluntly told them that it is a serious health and safety risk if i can't get out of my car and my car was to set on fire (an exaggeration yes but it can happen) and suprisingly they were able to get it in the next day. I asked them what time they would be coming to pick my car up and they said between 8:30am and 10:30am... Nobody arrived between this time and I never got a call to say anyone was on their way, so I called them to ask where they were and they said they were outside my house, eventhough I mentioned several times that I would be at work. Finally at 1:45pm they arrived to collect my car and I was told that they would bring the car back today... but the problem won't be fixed. So, again I am going another night with a faulty car. Their lack of comminication and customer care is disgusting. They even insulted me with a £10 Tesco gift card for the previous issues I have had with them... bare in mind I have already lost 1/2 days pay when my battery went flat. So, £10 worth of compensation is just a joke. And just now I have had a call saying it is unacceptable to expect them to put fuel in the car if their isn't enough to get the car their and back. I think this is absolutely terrible customer service to make me feel like I have done something wrong when it is them that continue to make errors.

“Not very professional ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Arthur99 on 09/12/2014

First of all they seemed very desperate and pushy for me to buy the car, they accepted my deposit payments before I was even accepted finance on the car so my waiting time was around 3 hours just to get the car. I pay extra every month to cover any damage etc to car. I got a chipped windscreen and it took between 10-12 phone calls over a 2 week period to finally get them to do something about it. I have to drive an hour away from home to get it decided and MOT which takes roughly 4 hours they don't offer me a courtesy car. I feel as though they are just robbing me and trying to get me to pay as much as possible and don't really care. They did not even clean my car after the service. Just left my locking wheel nut in the middle of my front seat. The company is ridiculous and although I really like my car I feel as though they are trying to milk as much money as they can from me. I would never ever deal with this company again or recommend that anyone else does. They over price cars too. Very disappointed with car craft. The service is awful too on the phone they are not professional and make you feel annoyed and not cared about

This echoes my own views and recent experience about carcraft. The customer car is terrible and the worst I've ever known. They don't seem to care about anything once you've purchased the car. They don't return calls, the managers are Rudd and uncaring and they don't even care about upsetting the customer.

in our contract it says after paying finance for 2 years you can ask to return car on the understanding it then belongs to them again and no more payments are required but obviously car needs to legal and in good condition if he still has his contract check what it says, it does mean you've paid a lot for the car over 2 years but you're no longer commited to pay anymore and you will be finance free (the cobtract is with the finance not carcraft) good luck

My opinion I'd go to carcraft ask for your motor back and take it to a reputable garage that won't mess you around and probably won't feed you a load of waffle saying you car needs work doing when it probably doesn't, you must know a local trust worthy mechanic most people do or ask around in your local area and check the mileage to make sure they've not been using it, try reporting them to trading standards if something's not right with what there explanation is about & why they kept the car, I'd just advise when you get your car back never return to carcraft unless you want to drive it through there showroom window with a strap on attached to it then you can aim it up the managers arse as you drive through the showroom

I would AVOID Carcraft. They lied to me on several points when I tried to buy a car from them. When I finally agreed to buy the car anyways, they raised the price after I had already agreed to their asking price. Also, they will not allow you to buy the car outright or purchase the car through any other lender than themselves. Both times I visited the Carcraft in Enfield to test drive the car (over a 3 day period) the battery was dead and I had to wait for it to be charged up. The first time the headlights didn't work, the second time the parking sensors and sat nav didn't work. Even still I offered to buy the car at their asking price (which I really felt was £1,500 over the real value). They accepted my offer, I waited around for 45 mins to sign the paperwork. Then a manager comes out and says the car had been 'mistakenly advertised' £2,400 BELOW their 'real asking price'. So even though their website and the sign on the car and two salesmens all confirmed one price, the manager came out and raised it by £2,400!! That's when I found out they wouldn't accept payment in full, nor would they allow me to purchase the car through a bank loan or any other lender---they only allow purchases through their own repayment scheme. I was totally fed up at that point and I left, swearing to never return. Three days later I found the exact same spec car, with everything in good working order (listed for £2,000 BELOW Carcraft's original asking price) at a small dealership in Hertfordshire. I was able to pay cash for the car, test drive it, sign all the paperwork, and drive away within an hour.
