Unfortuantley I was involved in an accident in May 2012 where by another motorist came into my lane and hit the side of my car, reported the incident to endsleigh. I expect all insurance companies to be sly and money grabbing. When my car was broken into I was expecting the worst from my first ever insurance claim. Especially as I have always gone for the cheapest quote (this year from Endsleigh). I thought they might of had an issue that I was not staying at my home address at the time, and of the high value of my sound system. However they had no issue accepting the claim. If you went to every insurance company you would find people with gripes,i honestly had nothing but praise for Endsliegh insurance as has my daughter. I had cover with them but when I was promoted at work I hadnt been paid,a payment failed. Not my fault but of course not Endsleighs either. My uncle and I purchased a policy for me costing about £1600 with his debit card around two months ago. About 3 weeks ago, I was told to send scanned documents of my driving license, all the pages of my V5 documents, proof of studying, a written confirmation stating who I took out this policy with, and 3 months proof of my bank statements. Due to a administrative error on there system Endsleigh ended up cancelling my policy even after I had paid up front in full. I contacted the customer care team who gave me there apologies and offered to refund me in full. I said that was good of them but not good enough. I took out a so called specialist teachers car insurance policy. I was a fully comp customer for three years. Recently another vehicle hit my car from behind whist I was turnins a corner. I had previously been with Endsleigh for six years, thinking them cheap and reliable, although never having claimed or changed car, I had no idea how wrong I could be. I've had to borrow a couple of my Dad's garage cars whilst my Polo (1.4) was being fixed acouple of times. I was charged £25 everytime and whatever else they wanted to chuck in on top of what I was already paying. I couldn't leave as I knew deep down; my no claims would be stolen by them if I cancelled. Had 2 vehicles covered by Endsliegh, both on leases. The leases expired in April and we decided to buy two different vehicles outright. Called Endsliegh for a quite, then for peace of mind called a few others. Astonished to find that Endsleigh were over twice the cost of ANYONE else. DO NOT BUY ANY POLICY WITH THEM. They are hell!!! they promise to phone you back they don't. They give you a quote for a year then claim it was only for 6 months. I was fairly happy with the level of service provided by Endsleigh in general, customer service was quite good. I didn't have to make any claims except for a windscreen claim (which was cheap, easy to arrange, and speedy to get fixed, and also did not affect my no claims). The issue came when after my first year the renewal notice came through, it was twice the amount of the previous year! I called up endsleigh recently to see about adding on a part time occupation. I asked if i needed to changed my mileage to business mileage as i would need to travel to two different work places. The first member of staff wasnt sure and said he would call me back... he didnt. Idiot drove into the back of me and that was when my trouble started: It took them 3 weeks to authorise my repair The body shop took 4 weeks to replace a bumper my holiday plans had to be rearranged because my own car was out of action. Endsleigh were fantastic when I was a student, excellent service good value for money especially as it was my first insurance on my car and being a student didn't have a lot of spare cash. Endsleigh are better than most of the others.
At 23 my daughter purchased the student bonus accelerator car insurance policy in October 2009 for her first car, a 2006 Clio. After 6 months she renewed with 12 months no-claims discount, for £550. I have never felt so ill treated as a consumer in my life as i did when dealing with Endsleigh. Their customer service is absolutely appalling. Used them since 1974 but in 2007 it all went wrong. I added my wife to the policy and they sent fresh documents with the small print canceling my ncb protection and banning me from driving other vehicles When I read the small print and found this they blamed computer error. I was an IT manager and can assure you this is Bo***x . This company has gone from excellent for 35 years under Gouda to a nightmare since Alcocks 2007 Zurich deal.

DO NOT USE!!!
I was sent an email after 4 months, they had instantly cancelled my insurance because of a computer fault at their end.
Then they took the price of £707 up to £1600!
I'm sure this must be illegal to do this after I've already paid upfront for a year!
I'm now going through the lengthy process of getting my money back for the months that I haven't yet used, wish me luck! (read more)

Do not under any circumstances used this rogue company!
I cancelled my insurance and my direct debits and they still managaged to take £142 out of my bank account by using my debit card details they stored from last year without my authorisation which in my eyes is fraud/Theft.
If you are really desperate to use this company i would reccomend you change your bank debit card after cancelling your policy.

I have had my insurance with this company (Endsleigh) for a few years and it seemed ok. I just change my car to a smaller cheaper model with a lower insurance bracket and did the change over in a hurry. My fault. Checked my direct debit and found that my installment amount had more than doubled. I have been their customer for last 2 years and just renewed my policy for the 3rd year.
Overall I am totally satisfied, as whenever I called cust.services, my issues were dealt promptly. Once I had window smashed night time, Endsleigh arranged replacement withing few hours and all I had to do it to pay excess to the guy who did work. Nothing else. Also when I moved the house, they straight away reduced my premium by £40 a month without any hesitation or delay.

Absolute desgrace! My Partner was told when taking out the policy that when she turned 25 she can ring back and ammend the policy so that she can drive another car, third party cover. Now when ringing back ENDSLEIGH told my partner she will need to take out another policy in order for her to drive another car.
