Had an 04 Honda Hornet 600. Must say, it was the worst bike I have ever owned.

Bought this Honda Hornet 600 bike in June last year just after I passed my test, took all of 10 minutes to get used to it (after only being on the rubbish 500 bike school bikes) done quite a few half day ride outs and one long one, learnt to overtake on it get used to corners, in my limited experience I would definitely recommend it as a good 1st bike

Bought my Honda Hornet in 02. Still happily pottering along. Don't buy a black one, the muck and scratches show up too well (like any vehicle that is black really).
Must have a half faring, couldn't imagine what it would be like without one... difficult.
If your over 6 foot, it sometimes feels like your on a toy bike as you seem to hang over it, rather than ride it. Looks a bit odd trying to tuck down behind the fairing on the tank with your knees up around you ears... not a good look.

I have had my CB600 Honda Hornet 8 months quite frankly one of the best investments I have made in my 41 years, no more traffic no more congestion charge, and its economical with performance enough to keep with most of the sports bikes to a point anyway, it gets the job done and its easy to maintain relatively cheap to buy and insure.

Love riding it to work and on weekends it does its job up and down hills and around corners. When out on the straights loves being upped, the riding position suits me to a tee and when needed you can lay on the tank. The bike takes a beating and loves it. The more you ride the more you love this bike.

A bike for all seasons. Gently through towns and villages with a real go when the road opens up. Corners are an absolute scream and the bike goes exactly where you want it. I sold a Blackbird to buy this and don't regret it for one minute. It must be a 'Honda 4 thing' because the engine sounds similar to the Blackbird. A bit tight for a six-foot plus middle aged loon but I knew what I was doing when I bought it. The upright riding position is easy on my back, helps with forward visibility and g ...

Bought it new to go with my rgv 250 and to use to commute 50 miles a day for which it's perfect, docile in town, fun on A roads and fast on B roads. A bit thirstier than I hoped but I do spank it fairly. Its good on tyres and chains, uses no oil although it's had fork seals and likes new air filters.
I've had other bikes since the hornet (Daytona 955, gsxr 750) but they always get sold at the end of the year because all I really need is the hornet.

This is my first bike, and I am due to transfer it to my partner as her first bike. It's an excellent starter bike, and is even better if you know how to ride. Great stuff in a small easy-to-handle and affordable package.
