Good Points: Usual amazing animation (especially scenery) from master animator Miyazaki. And a great story.
Bad Points: On the newer English version - James van de Beek!!
General comments: Wonderful flying machines all around (I think Miyazaki has an obsession due to an uncle making airplanes or similar) and very cool panaramas.
A young boy - Pazu, catches a young girl - Sheeta who drifts down from the sky (by way of a magical necklace) into the quarry where he is working. Pazu has to try and keep her safe whilst on the run from both the military and a gang of pirates whilst trying to find a mythical floating castle/city (Laputa).
A suggestion would be; if you watch it with the kids have the English on, if you watch it with adults use the subtitles and Japanese soundtrack (I'm sure the music is better - less 'Disney-ised) so it is not ruined by Dawson!!! A slight warning for younger kids, there are a few guns blasting in this film!

In castle in the shy a young boy called Pazu befriends Sheeta, a mysterious girl who floats down from the sky one night clutching a magic crystal. Together they must find the secret of the crystal and her past and keep it safe from government agents and air pirates who desire it's hidden power... the power to discover the location of the lost floating sky-castle of Laputa.
An action film for older children and adults due to some scary scenes during the battle for Laptua.
