Good Points: Beautiful workmanship: metal has deep dark bluing and a smooth gorgeous blue laminate stock
    -Great accuracy
-Solid build (might be too heavy for some people-I prefer good weight for stability)
-Compact: Easy for shooting out vehicle window
-Good for plinking, hunting, varminting/pest control
    -Fairly easy to cock
    - Affordable price

Bad Points: Metal on metal sound when cocking (occurs only if I shoot approximately 20+ shots in a very short period of time). The next day it is back to normal.
-Recoil (I have had to buy a different mount than the one I originally bought to prevent scope slippage)

General comments: I bought a Beeman HW97 in a .20 cal with a Blue Laminate stock from Striaghtshooters this past spring. I initially bought it because of how beautiful it looks. I have a Logun MKII and a Beeman Crow Mag IV and the quality and look compares with those air rifles. The metal work has a nice dark glossy bluing. The stock is just amazing. I have not seen such a beautiful stock on any air rifle. I put a Barska 6-24x illuminated mil-dot scope on it. Now it looks pretty mean. I have shot this rifle pretty extensively (about 2000 rounds) and so far it has met my expectations. Most of my shooting has been at metal silhouettes, but I have shot a number of animals with it. The largest animal was a Yellow-Bellied Marmot at 20 yards. He only gave me part of his head and that was all I needed. I have also shot a handful of cottontail rabbits (ranges 10-50 yards), gophers and chipmunks. I have the confidence in this gun to take head shots. It is not as accurate as my Logun MKII but it does pretty well. I have not shot any groupings on paper but I can hit my ground squirrel metal silhouette very consistently at 55 yards (at least 70% of the shots with a rest). .20 cal is a good choice in this gun I would have to say. It is still pretty flat shooting but carries a significant more punch than the .177 cal. I like this gun so much that I ended up buying another one and that one is in a display case in my living room. My wife did not understand why I needed two, but hey, what can I say?
