The Sisterhood Of Travelling Pants is an adaptation of the book by Ann Brashares.
The film is based upon a group of four friends who have grown up together. They have done everything together, from going to school, girly sleepovers, and also dealing with one of their mother's death.
They are aged 16 and have never been apart. However, this summer they are all going off on their separate adventures. One is going to football camp, one to Greece to meet her grandparents, one to stay with her father for the whole summer and the other is staying at home to work and make a documentary. Just before they go off on their separate adventures they are shopping, and they stumble across a pairs of jeans which mysteriously fits them all. They decide to use the jeans as a tool to keep them all connected while they are all so far away, each taking turns to wear them and then send them on with a letter of the luck the jeans brought them!
As each friend goes off on their journey of discovery, you learn more about the characters individually, their hopes and fears, and how they contribute to the friendship.
It's an intriguing film and a delight to watch. It is quite slow to start with, but it keeps you engaged. A definite must for a girly night in!
