“Robbie Hart (Sandler) is a Wedding Singer at the only...”

★★★★★

written by Emily C on 11/08/2006

Robbie Hart (Sandler) is a Wedding Singer at the only wedding venue in a small town called Richfield in the 80's. Due to get married himself, a new waitress, Julia starts working at the wedding venue and she too is engaged and planning to be married. However, Robbie is jilted at the alter on his wedding day, and as he tries to cope with the prospect of not being married, which he has always wanted, he starts to help the new waitress (Barrymore) with her wedding plans. As the new girl in town she doesn't know where to go for flowers or anything, and Robbie, having been around a lot of weddings himself helps her out. Robbie soon discovers that her finance is cheating on her, and he plans too long after they say "I do", and with Robbie falling for Julia himself, he must try and make her realise her finance is a loser, and that he is the one she should be with.

This is a lovely lighthearted romantic comedy, with some great one-liners! E.g. "We're living in a material world and I am a material girl... or boy"

It's a fun film that you can watch over and over again.
