Good Points: At least they answered the phone.
Bad Points: A lot of things are excluded - CHECK THE SMALL PRINT!
General comments: I suppose it was our fault for not checking the small print, but we missed a flight from Athens due to a (separate and independently booked) flight on a different carrier being cancelled due to technical reasons. Stranded on a Greek island - not as nice as it sounds unfortunately! We were not covered (domestic flights not being considered public transport). The person on the phone was not sympathetic to our plight, merely stating, 'sorry sir you're not covered!'. Looking at the other reviews we'd probably have had to fork out for another 10 plane tickets to sort out the mountain of paperwork required even had we been covered.

I lost a filling while on holiday in England and was faced with a costly private treatment, so I phoned to ask if I was covered, and was called back to say, yes go ahead with the treatment.
On return from holiday, I requested a claim form by email and was sent an overseas travel claim form. I emailed back asking if this was correct and got an acknowledgement but no reply.
I went ahead and filled in the form, and sent it off registered post as requested. I was eventually told that they did not pa ...

I do not recommend them. Cover level on my policy was very poorSmall print means lots of things arent properly covered - almost everything is a "valuable" meaning you get a max of £100 in totalClaims department required a lot of evidence, so much so that it is a major work to make a claim.

Insure and Go travel insurance have been very good up to present! Took out a 1 year world wide Platinum cover...
4 weeks before our first Holiday the wife had to have an operation and we had to cancel. There were a lot of forms to fill in, but the cost was paid out in full.
Rang up to see if we were still covered on the insurance and was told yes!

I had a Platinum policy with Insure and Go Travel. My luggage bag got damaged beyong repair/use. I bought a cheap one to get my stuff back - and now they refuse to pay for this cheap bag! Exactlly what was I supposed to use to bring my stuff back in? They have put a lot of obstacles in my meeting claim - still fighting them. Not worth insuring with them really.

When my sister had a change in her medical circumstances I called and spoke to a very friendly agent. She explained in 'laymans' terms what we needed to and went through the process.
I was promised a call back within 72 hours as the condition needed to be sent to another department for aproval and received a call back that same day!
Lucky for us we did this as we had a claim for that the very next holiday.

I took out insurance with insureandgo for a 1 year working holiday to Australia - while I was there I had a problem with 2 of my wisdom teeth, had to have them both pulled out which cost me $800 (400gbp) - I filed a claim with insureandgo for £250 which is what they covered, they asked to see my ticket to Australia and the receipts for the dental treatment. Having read all the bad reviews about this company I thought I had pretty much said goodbye to my money but low and behold 2 weeks af ...

NEVER AGAIN! I had an annual policy. I struggled over one year to get my payout - needed to be flown back from Japan on health reasons. From Japan, the staff were more than happy to book emergency flights for me - provided I gave them my credit card. Duly, I obliged as due to the time difference, health etc...and the fact that my ticket rate would be "infinitely higher and totally unacceptable" it made more sense for them to sort it out. Upon arriving back, when I claimed, all I got was re ...

Having taken out travel insurance with Insure and Go and then having read reviews here by others, I was extremely concerned when we found we were going to have to claim.
We were unable to travel due to illness but having put the relevant documents together and the required doctor's note, the claim was settled efficiently and with no quibbles or hassle.
Just as it should be I should add, as this is exactly why we take out insurance isn't it? But nice to note anyway.
Happy to stay with Insure a ...

Our luggage was lost en route from Manchester to Paphos as we began a two week holiday in Cyprus. Despite having lost luggage paperwork from Paphos Airport and receipts for a few basic items of clothes and toiletries etc (amounted to just over £60 as we shopped around) Insure and Go Travel Insurance refused to pay. They told us to claim off the carrier, even though we paid extra for luggage cover off them. They took our money very easily but it took numerous letters from us to get an ans ...

Had a motorbike accident on Thailand (small bike, moped type thing from a tiny company, don't know the name) and racked up £150 medical expenses and my £300 camera was wrecked in the process. Did InsureandGo pay up? Of course not! We need written proof that we were rented a bike of 50cc or less. Do they expect me to go back to Thailand and get a letter from the company? They don't even have paperwork for us to say we even rented a bike so it's impossible. And we were never even sent ...

My problem related to delayed baggage. God knows what would have happened if my family had been involved in a medical emergency.
You get what you pay for with these guys. And I didn't pay much. Like most people, I don't read all of the small print for all of the companies that I approached for quotations on travel insurance. If we did that, we wouldn't have time to go on holiday before we'd finished reading!
In my case Insure & Don't Pay refused to pay out more than £100 for delayed bagga ...

Very pleasant company to deal with. Answered all my questions and nothing was too much trouble. Very pleasant people on the phone and the policy came through within a couple of days although I requested the cover to start in July. I needed the policy number to book the holiday. No problems

We recently had insurance with them while travelling to Luxor, my brother was rushed into hospital on day 2 for surgery. They would not pay for the hospital directly so I had to pay with cash (okay could be a local problem)Afterwards to recoup the money I sent all required paperwork to them twice which they claimed they hadn't received, so then sent registered, then they kept asking for more information that was unobtainable as we had left Egypt. We were then informed that the cost to change sea ...

Two days before our departure to Egypt, our son died unexpectedly. It took 12 months for them to repay the cost of the holiday and only through the intervention of the ombudsman. You can imagine the distress this caused ourselves
