Made a mistake on the dates on my policy, contacted them straight away to adjust of cancel and take out another policy but awful customer service could not help and apparently had to contact the 'under writers' to get this sorted. I have recently been taken ill whilst in holiday in crete, which resulted in me being hospitalised for 5 days. Where do I start!!! It took them four days and many phone calls, family in the uk and doctors in the uk pushing hourly before they would agree cover. They went through everything to get out of it. I submitted a claim for a holiday cancellation around 9 weeks ago due to my partner being rushed into hospital. He was advised not to travel by his GP so we unfortunately had to cancel our trip. I emailed all of the documents Insure & Go requested only to then be asked for paper copies. I went to a lot of trouble gathering paper copies and was even charged by Barclaycard to be sent a statement. “Not interested in customer care - Insure & Go”

For many years we have used Insure and Go with no problems, as we have never made a claim. I was taken ill in Rome, last August 16. On the advice of I & G my husband took me to A & E. I was admitted within the hour. I & G did not contact us. After a few days my husband let them know I was in hospital. From then on they would ring at any inconvenient time asking for a form to be filled in and sent to them. The form was on the Internet and they wanted it faxed back. “Trying to get out of compensating pensioners”

My elderly parents took out cover with Insure and Go, paying extra to cover both of their existing medical conditions. Earlier this year they had to cancel a cruise due to my mum taking ill before they were due to travel. The Doctor was investigating a cough she had recently developed and had referred her to the hospital. “Personnel item not covered”

Recently been away and my husbands prescription sun glasses must have fell out of his pocket in the case. Called today to claim, Guess what, Yes you got it not covered. PRESCRIPTION glasses are not covered, how personnel has the item to be . The lady kept asking me where I was flying to and I had told her about 4 times how. I was in UK. Lost my wallet shortly into the holiday. Didn't know if I lost it on the plane or at the resort so didn't want to shout theft!! Hotel and rep said the police wouldn't get involved with a loss so didn't get a police report number. Because if that they refused to pay out- for £220!!! Avoid at all costs. 1. Extremely poor customer service 2. Waiting time for call to be answered In excess of 30 minutes 3. Very poor policy details! 4. Online claiming form absolutely shocking. i travelled to the Philippines March 2016 last year for a friends wedding. I booked all the lights and hotels myself and then bought insurance. Unfortunately I had to return home rather quickly and only got as far as Manila, due to a family tragedy. I supplied travel claims with all documentation, medical records, flight details, accommodation bookings, death certificate. Just returned back from Portugal, when I arrived at Faro airport my case was badly damaged and in a ball. 3 bottles of expensive perfume and my GHD hair straighteners were also smashed. Called to make a claim and basically wanted receipts for items broken and the case. Perfume was Christmas presents and so were hair straighteners, only had receipt for the suitcase. Single trip ski insurance - please carefully consider their small print as they refused our claim because it exceeded their £500 limit and despite calling them before incurring costs they denied all knowledge of the call. 1st - the criminal broke the van and took my luggage The insure and go refused the claim as the luggage was unattended 2nd - pick pocket lost money and passport ( have got all police document. ) The insure and go refused coz informed later than 31 days after come back to the uk . It's despicable that they can still operate giving the extent of unhappy customers. I purchased a platinum policy which you would think would cover all personal items, until my phone was stolen and then they came back to me saying my iPhone wasn't covered,however if it was my iPad that was stolen that would have been covered!! If a platinum policy doesn't cover your personal items you can be sure a basic policy is just you hanging over your money and you won't get anything in return!… Read Full Review

“Misleading Insurance Policy, Terrible Customer Service”

I purchased this policy and was on holiday in Sri Lanka and was bitten by a dog that may have had rabies. I had to have shots immediately for tetanus and rabies while I was there and was told I MUST have the full course of rabies treatment or I could die. They are a course that are done on specific dates between each other. I had two before I came back from holiday and had to have the full course done in the UK. My partner and I had Insure and Go policies for several years. They seemed to offer good value, easy selection of policies and dealt well with pre-existing conditions. I changed companies because their premium rose sharply when I reached 65. Two months ago our hotel room in France was robbed. I tried making a claim for a guitar and case which got damaged on a flight. There is a list of things needed before a claim is started and you also have to make a claim within 24 hours. All paperwork must be received within 28 days as well. When i hadn't heard back from the insurers, I called them and was directed to page 12, column 2, point 7 of the policy which shows a list of "exclusions".
