“I used to work for Insureansgo”

Written on: 26/08/2016

I used to work for Mapfre who underwrite and own insureandgo. The managers ignore claims and have a back log of 10,000 plus claims. Some customers have died before their claims, big or small, have even been looked at. Customers are mislead, and simply left to forget their claim even existed. The staff are pressured to deal with customers in less than 3 mins with little support from their managers, to the point where toilet breaks are on a timer. Avoid buying any policy underwritten by… Read Full Review

“Annual travel policy”

Written on: 25/07/2016 by Alterri (1 review written)

Not worth spending your money with this company. Do yourself a favor and obtain real travel cover from a reputable company. They have clauses in the policy booklet designed to invalidate claims. For example you are NOT covered for accidents or illness in your 'home country' and this is basically the whole of the UK. there are many other clauses in the booklet so you must read it and fully understand it. You may think foolishly like us that as you have paid your money for annual travel… Read Full Review

“Throw your money away”

Written on: 15/07/2016 by ZSJARDIN (1 review written)

I should have read the reviews before i gave $549. 00 to travel and go. They should re-title themselves as go away after you pay us. We were in mumbai, india when my husband was hospitalized with an angina attack. I emailed their so-called emergency line and never received a reply. When we returned, i called and finally got a human being called mintzie. She promised that if i sent the credit card showing the money we spent on new tickets, it was easy. I faxed the credit card and the… Read Full Review

“Worst Travel Insurance Company”

Written on: 16/05/2016 by AbbieMcClure (1 review written)

My Father died suddenly in the UK while we were on holiday in Spain October 2015. We sent copies all the relevant documents for our claim, including a copy of my Fathers death certificate. One of the delaying tactics of this company was 'this is a very busy time for us’, some were completely inconceivable, questions regarding my Fathers actual death. We had to obtain written confirmation from my Fathers GP that his death was unexpected! After six months of to-ing and fro-ing our claim was… Read Full Review

“Claim service nightmare”

Written on: 30/03/2016 by Thommo60 (2 reviews written)

You never know how good your insurance is until you claim and unfortunately Insure and Go are not good. For buying, dealing with your requirements and any special cover you need, Insure and Go are excellent, unfortunately when you come to claim they are very slow and unhelpful. They outsource their claims to one of their subsidiaries called Travel Claim Services so you don't get to deal with the helpful people who sold you the insurance, this subsidiary provide awful customer service, awful… Read Full Review

Norfolkhawk's Response to Thommo60's Review

Written on: 18/04/2016

This is exactly the circumstances I find myself in.
INSURE AND GO DO NOT PAY OUT IF YOU HAVE A CLAIM!
Mine was a perfectly legitimate and fair claim - for just £120 too.
Due to air traffic controllers strike I was left having to find another way to get home from seeing my twin brother in France who had just had an operation for cancer.
Insure and Go offered me £30! They tried to make out it was a 'delayed' departure as opposed to a 'missed' departure ( that pays out up to £500.)
This Spanish-owned, Bristol based company.
But if they think they are going to styich me up they should think again - I've NEVER lost a case I've pursued in the past, and don't intend on losing this one!

“DECEASED”

Written on: 08/03/2016 by znkynthos (1 review written)

My husband died in a tragic accident while we were on holiday in Greece, In June 2015. Insure and go have been inept, incompetent and completely insensitive to us. I have had to retain a lawyer to try and get them to settle although they have agreed the claim. I had my lawyer put in an official complaint and this very morning, I received a letter from them addressed to my dead husband telling him they would be looking into his complaint. I thInk that says it all. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. DON'… Read Full Review

“insureandgo are rubbish”

Written on: 07/03/2016 by mattdovey (1 review written)

Thought I would share my experience of insure and go with the world. They are rubbish. I've taken out travel insurance with them for a few years now. Before Christmas myself and my partner travelled to Tenerife for a few days away. Two days into the holiday I started to feel unwell. On the day we were to depart for the UK I was feeling so unwell I had to visit the nearest hospital. They were concerned enough to want to admit me into their care. Being a private hospital I was informed I needed… Read Full Review

“Insureandgo take renewal direct debits despite cancelling”

Written on: 11/01/2016 by jhlittler (2 reviews written)

I contacted Insure and Go to ensure that they did not renew an annual policy that was no longer needed. They said we had to prove that the policy had been paid for by us. I sent them a copy of bank statement with correct payment, date, payer and payee on it. Insure and go stupidly said it was not enough proof after previously saying this was. Then they billed our a/c anyway. I am taking them to the Small Claims court and Insurance ombudsman… Read Full Review

“Will Not Refund Even With Receipts”

Written on: 29/12/2015 by KarlaColeman483 (1 review written)

I purchased the Silver Plan 3 months prior to going to Patagonia in November 2015. American Airlines cancelled due to 'pilot cut his finger'; so I was delayed a full day. I had to re-book plane tickets from Santiago to Punta Arenas and hire a driver to get me to my destination to start my trek. I received NO refund for these costs - only the $250 for "trip delay". This company is a rip off. Yes I provided the actual receipts as required, all airline boarding passes, etc. but that was all… Read Full Review

“Never again”

Written on: 19/11/2015 by sue29 (1 review written)

I have had annual travel insurance with Insure and Go for years, I have never claimed for anything before. Recently lost my husband, so took myself for a weeks holiday and whilst there, I had my watch stolen. I had taken it off to go in the swimming pool and placed it in my beach bag. I reported it to the local police & they said they were treating it as a crime. Insure & Go said that I could not claim , as I left my watch unattended, they were unable to assist me. What are you meant to do when… Read Full Review

“Do Not Use”

Written on: 02/11/2015 by JamesRHarper (1 review written)

Used Insure & Go for travel insurance many times. Started a first and last claims process for a lost games device, part of £200.00 allowance for lost valuables. This was immediately reduced to £160.00 if the claim was successful, don't know why, couldn't care really. After speaking with their rep. I decided life is too short for this urinary waste. The documents that they wanted provided was farcical, included bank statement, luggage tickets, photo of lost items and much, much more. Had I… Read Full Review

“Still waiting ”

Written on: 11/10/2015 by cnHowe293 (1 review written)

Placed a Claim for son falling ill on holiday in August. Received letter saying they had received claim etc, nothing else. Made several phone calls, left holding for the least 10 mins listening to a silly tune and still haven't actually been able to speak to anyone to find out what is happening with it. sent message to them using their web site still nothing. It is true, you don't know how good your insurance is until you put a claim in, so far disappointing. I too wish I had red reviews… Read Full Review

“terrible customer service”

Written on: 03/10/2015 by SharonPowers104 (1 review written)

This company has the worst customer service I have ever encountered. They took over 7 weeks to deal with a claim that I made after getting robbed on holiday. They are impossible to get hold of because you call the claims line, wait in a queue for 5 mins, then someone answers and tells you that no agents are available and they will get someone to call you back within 48 hours!!! which they then don't do anyway!!!! (this happened both times I tried to call them). when they did settle my claim… Read Full Review
