Good Points: Well made and great design. Neat and handy in pocket.
Bad Points: Awful charging system. Lead was floppy in contact and I was never sure it was in properly. After a few years it gave out completely and would not accept the charge connection. Not fixable. Not good for a phone of this price.
General comments: Poor ringing volume. Terrible display and not a good camera. Now have a Motorola and realise how bad the Panasonic has been these past couple of years.

I have been on a contract for a while and I am on my 5th handset (the Panasonic X70) from Orange - apparently you have to report the same fault 3 times to get a different one! Voice of caller is lost regularly, echo sounds appear, important numbers disappear without warning, charge connection is useless, it works when it wants to. Battery is poor and camera is the worst I've ever seen. The list goes on!- Read Andy111's review (84 words)

Charging the Panasonic X70 is fiddly with the connector not lining up easily and then not wanting to release when it is connected (Yes, I know there is a release button). The display is illegible in sunlight. The menus are complicated and tortuous. Messages are not stored chronologically. The infrared connectivity with a PDA never worked. The camera picture quality was disappointing. I would not buy another one, in fact, when I mislaid mine I couldn't be bothered to look for it and took it as an ...- Read clive thomas's review (100 words and 1 comment)

I had heard many comments against the anasonci X70 mobile phone, even from the local Orange shop. I was told not to buy this phone, but I thought I would give the phone a chance, and decided to buy it.
I must have dropped on one of the last issued handsets, as the box was clearly labelled a contract model, but was being sold as pay as you go.
It was £130 in June 2004, which was a big reduction from its original price.
The phone is loud, reliable, compact, and the Bluetooth work ...- Read lockdown189's review (256 words and 2 comments)

Poor connection during battery charge is an inherent design fault in my view.
Camera function is pathetic, good for stamp sized photos only. I could not believe that Panasonic actually put their name to this device.- Read yoda1's review (117 words and 1 comment)

This is the worst mobile I have ever had. It looked ok, but the usability of the menus is poor. Furthermore, it is a fairly unreliable machine, and has put me off from ever straying from Nokia/Motorola ever again. Avoid the x70 at all costs!- Read eclipse2005's review (81 words)

The Panasonic X70 is good value for money. I have tried it for a couple of weeks and it seems ok. The camera is not fantastic but works fine, the photo light is just plain useless except as make-shift torch. The menus are a bit cumbersome but once you get used to them they're okay. The phone does tend to crash whenever the memory is heavily loaded, but all the other 25 phones I tried, apart from the P910, had similar problems. The display is extremely bright and crisp but battery life is zero (t ...- Read eferr's review (143 words and 1 comment)

Bought the phone in Jan 04, first fault it wouldn't charge. when it came back from repair it wouldn't hold a charge for more than 5mins then turned itself off. When it came back from repair again it wouldn't charge, when it came back yet again I couldn't make or recieve calls and then it went dead again. The phone has now gone to the mobile graveyard. Yes I'm pleased it has. I will never buy anything Panasonic again.

Well I had spent a few days searching the review centre for my perfect phone and come across a few that fitted the bill but when I went shopping I was in Orange and came across the X70! Well lets just say I fell in love! But I was with friends and one is a Nokia addict so tryed to steer me to the 3100 and the other wanted me to get a Motorola, but my mind just kept drifting back to this beautiful phone that I had never heard of before! Luckily the lady in the shop let me try it out before I boug ...- Read fallenangel4eva87's review (395 words)

People seem to have varying experiences of the X70 so here's my two-pence worth.
The battery life is not good so I bought a replacement off eBAY for a fiver with a longer life. Texting is a bit awkward but manageable. The camera is truly awful but the phone is for talking not taking pictures (sorry, I'm an old man).
The good points; nice and sleek yet solid design. My young son dropped it on a pavement last week and it survived. The clam-shell design takes getting used to after using Nokia ...- Read oloonat's review (223 words)

Well, where should I begin? I've had a Panasonic X70 for half a year now and I wish I had followed my instincts and gone for a Nokia or Sony Ericsson instead. But no, I wanted a clamshell design and I thought this was the one to get.
Stay well away from this phone. It is terrible. The battery life stinks and it will drop considerably after about two calls. The operating system is sluggish and constantly requires you to click "ok" to perform the simplest of tasks. The OS crashes all the ...- Read sblakeley's review (386 words and 3 comments)

Took my Panasonic X70 to a warm country (30 degrees C). Screen failed 2 minutes after exiting plane. Screen recovered on return to Blighty but stubbornly refuses to make calls. All in all a pretty pile of poo. Completely useless as a phone.- Read skimba's review (47 words)

The Panasonic X70 is a no no . I have had six phones in as many months. All with the same problem, very poor reception (if any) indoors even though everyone else's phone works it also switches itself off and the battery only lasts half a day, Orange refuse to change the model even though loads of other people have the same problem. I can't believe they are still selling it. Only buy this phone if you don't want to talk on it and you like getting very fustrated.- Read kev dunk's review (100 words)

The Panasonic X70 is a great looking mobile phone thats bound to get noticed, simple to use once you get the hang of the menus. sound sometimes would cut out a bit whilst taling.
Unfortunately mine has gone wrong 3 times now and is being replaced by a more reliable nokia.
A great phone but let down by going wrong so often, if it hadn't i would have been happy to keep this phone.- Read janwilde6's review (112 words and 1 comment)

The Panasonic X70 mobile phone looks nice.
Within 2 weeks the screen had blue dots all over it and switched itself off.
I sent it back, the company who Orange said i should send it to (CRC Phone Repair) under warranty. They kept it 4 weeks and sent me no replacement. when it came back it was scratched and looked like someone had kicked it about the floor.
It came back it took 3 weeks before it started turning off whenever i recieved a call or text. the screen was fuzzy with dots on it. Orang ...- Read rach1000000's review (193 words)
