Good Points: They are just so cute and they eat the extra food! If you keep the water level high enough they won't overpopulate the tank and they do not eat all of your live plants! Plus they are not very expensive! They are great to put in fry tanks after the eggs hatch because they do not add much of a load to the tank and they keep it clean so the water does not pollute!
Bad Points: They will eat fish eggs, so they can not be kept with fish like kribensis that lay eggs in a community tank.

Generally, tanks with snails are cleaner tanks. Mystery Snails do VERY well in established goldfish tanks, and they won't overrun your tank with mini snails. They're attractive with their golden shell, and they look fascinating when they have all their gizmo's and what have you out and working. Although they're long tentacles for feeling their surroundings often get nipped by cichlids or clown loaches. Mystery Snail Monitoring
