Apartments, Queen Vic, Fun factory all filthy, no adequate baby changing facilities, urine overflowing in toilets. Feet stick to floor in apartment its so greasy and filthy, cant let young ones on floor so had to keep them in playpen which has to be hired and collected. Patio doors to living area immediately faced Queen Vic and had to keep curtains drawn all the time, or watch the tennants drinkers starting at 9am. We have just come back from Brean and i have to say has a family of Pontins lovers and been going to Brean Sands for over 8 years and have always enjoyed our Pontins experience. I would say for a family who want a good value holiday Pontins is the place to be people who are over critical then dont bother I have always found accommodation in good order the staff friendly and ready to help the food outlets ok. Having said this my only 2 points i would make to Pontins is this. 1) Review your... (read more)

I was so worried about booking this holiday after reading some of the reviews but as we were booking for the 6th August and it was the 5th August we didn'y have much choice. To be honest we had prepared ourslves for the worst and were pleasantly suprised. We had booked a club room which pontins describe as their "top of the range" It was very basic but clean and with a 2pm check in and free bed linen an electric it made our say much easier. The staff were very friendly and the... (read more)

Our first and most probably last ever stay at Pontins! Accomodation was filthy, toilet had urine all over the seat and faeces caked in the toilet bowl, floor was filthy, sofa bed was a liabilty, if one of you got up, it 'ejected' the other person! Oh and we had a single duvet for our double bed?? Changing facilities at the pool were poor, no family changing, 2 toilets (filthy) no working locks. Booking in procedure was like a cattle market and pretty much all the staff seem quite... (read more)

Went to pontins brean park a month ago for 4 nights chalet 82 and honestly it was the worse accommodation ever!! Curtain rails were broken so couldn't draw curtains, furniture fallen apart, drawers not opening properly. Bathroom had yellow fluid? seeping from walls? no heating in (bunkbed) room our kids were crying during the night it was so cold also water coming in behind beds from windows (not sealed) causing damp bedding, we were nearly ready to pack up and go home. Our kettle was faulty so had to get it fixed. A young couple moved in next door with a young baby they couldn't shut there front door so had to call maintenance to fix it 11.30pm at night.
The indoor swimming pool was horrendous! no heating in changing rooms, pool was cold, I took my son to the pool ONLY once! the attendants were lazy and could'nt be bothered, their was no monitoring on the flumes so kids were piling ontop of each other at the bottom, alot of kids got upset including my son. I did complain but got a "We dont care attitude" and a sarcastic smile! Will definitly not go back!! and would'nt recommend it to my worse enemy.

We went for new year's eve 2011. Our chalet wasn't too bad, though there weren't enough seating for the 5 of us. In the Fun Factory the chairs, carpets and public loos were absolutely disgusting. Half board food was really nice though didn't offer any vegetarian options so for the Sunday roast we ate 'just veg', though there were plenty of choice with desserts. I had already booked a Sun short break at Pontins before I read the reviews. I could not believe how bad it sounded, to the extent that my husband and I were seriously considering not going at all. We worried about how our kids would react if we had to turn around and go straight home again like alot of people sed they did. All i can say is do not stay here, we booked with sun holidays after not getting out first choice. There was two groups of us one with a 3 year old, we booked two chalets and asked to be close together. On way to find parking we saw hundreds of bags of bedding left out in the pouring rain and cleaners still running between chalets. After standing in... (read more)
