We had a week booked at Pontins Brean Sands Oct 2009 Half term. We booked 18 of the PGL activities in advance. If we hadn't of done we would have left straight away. The accommodation was dirty and smelt. This was club quality, how can you possibly offer a lower quality? We had to put a sheet on the floor and the sofa as they were sticky to touch. Asked for non smoking at time of booking but on arrival told we encourage people not to smoke in accommodation, but do provide ashtray in all accommodation? The shop was well stocked with cleaning products and related air fresheners/neutralisers.

What would I want to see before booking?
The picture on the website to represent what you actually get. photos of all the accommodation and how it's laid out. Pictures of the rows of accommodation blocks.

Defo Brean Sands is not for people with young kids crawling around on dirty floor, sleeping in stained beds. As for the kids entertainment, why give you leaflets telling you about it, when you go to some activities they were not even running?
I would deffo. spend abit more money on my holiday next yr, its is simple just not the sort of holiday i wish to ever have again, especially as a mother of two young children in this sort of unhygenic accomodation

We got the brean sands holiday with the 'sun' newspaper which in total cost £162 pounds, we upgrading to the club which was the highist accomadation there had, we arrived at brean sands and weren't to impressed with the outside but we didn't think it was going to be as bad as it was, we hat to wait until two o'clock to go into the chalet because it was supposly being cleaned and getting ready for us to arrive. We got our chalet key and headed over to our apparment, once inside we were very ...

We returned from Brean Sands yesterday, we normally holiday at Camber Sands but thought we should try somewhere different. I went with my mum and dad and my sister (i'm 20 By the way)
Well where to start, it was horrendous, the chalet was disgusting, damp and clearly not a club, which we paid extra for the privilege of.
We did not even have a table we had a bench which meant we had to eat two at a time not ideal for a 'family' holiday.
There was a hell off a lot for children granted, but for ...

Pontins, Brean Sands, is Awful Awful Awful and DISGUSTING. Me and 5 friends went to Pontins Brean Sands on the 25th of July 2009. We were supposed to stay for the week but had to leave after 2 nights because the chalet was unliveable. I would not have put my dog in there. The first thing that hit us when we opened the sliding pation door (which had gaps in even when closed so caused a draft which was especially bad as 2 people were on the sofa bed and posed a security risk due as anyone could fo ...

Just returned from cheap weekend break at brean sands which we had promised grandchildren ages 10 and 6. After reading other reviews we were dreading going but couldnt let them down. We agree needs updating but chalets were clean definitely no bed bugs, children loved every moment biggest hate was slot machines which couldnt be avoided. PGL a big hit with my 10 year old.

Check-in at Pontins, Brean Sands was an absolute train wreck, even though they did try to entertain whilst you waited for key. Whole chalet was grimy. I am in no way a snob, but a little cleanliness goes a long way. A very bad experience, best part of the holiday was going home!

Went to Brean Sands 17th April 2009 for three days in a buget chalet. The chalet was absolutely disgusting, broken bed springs,BED BUGS my daughter in law got bitten twice on the first night, one year old grand son found a half eaten sweet been in the bed frame for weeks. Threatened legal action and got moved to there top of the range and that was only slightly better. If you don't mind what you sleep in and want to booze half the night then this the Holiday for you. The place is a sewer pit ...

Pontins, Brean Sands, is a cheap basic holiday. Generally clean, staff mostly helpful, camp facilities are geared to the levels accommodation so never overcrowded even in peak season. I regularly went to pontins as a child and never had a bad holiday . On returning a few years ago (after a twenty eight year break ) I found everything to be as good as I remembered and have been on quite a few pontins holidays since.
Yes the accommodation is basic, but I have never had to complain about the cle ...

Arrived 27 Dec after having a difficult Christmas last year and looking forward to a 3 day break. On arrival Reception stuck in corner of Amusements. Drove to our chalet and the look on my daughters face said it all. Chalet tiny and filthy. You couldn't see through patio doors and windows for filth on the glass. Inside there were stains everywhere, peeled paper sellotaped back on the wall and painted over, cobwebs everywhere. We were so disappointed. Decided to give it a go and try to find somet ...

Recently stayed for 4 nights and must say would never return!!!! Check in was a shambles with the entertainment hall packed with people to the point all the aisles were also blocked. As for the apartment well! Dirty, dusty, flaking paint, mould in the bath seals need I say more. I am no snob by any means but please come on, even basic standards would be a start.

Chalets were filthy and in need of everything replaced and repainted. We had to swap the 1st one given and it smelt damp. 2nd one not much better but sleepable although our daughters room smelt. Entertainment was ok once we had managed to find out what was on which meant we missed most of it.

We stayed here at Brean Sands for 1 week beginning of Aug, I must admit I was considering cancelling the holiday after reading all the reviews.
We arrived around 3.30pm for our check in at 4pm, we did have to queue but only for about 5 mins - also queued at Butlins so much about the same.
We stayed in a classic 1 bedroom apartment which was on the end of a row (408), we were quite lucky with the state of the apartment, it was clean apart from the carpet which was full of stains. One thing we did ...

I went to Pontins in Brean with my husband two daughters and to grandaughters. When we arrived there was a long queue and once we finallally got our keys we went to our chalet as we got there it looked like flats in a rough area. We went in to see that there was broken bneds and filthy bedding. My two grandaughters turned ill and i had a bad back. We should of stayed for a week and only stayed for one night. I would not recommend this site to any body.

This was a Sun holiday. Don't let Brean Pontins put you of all sun holidays as I have had some very good holidays though them. eg Brixham South Bay holiday park
