Purchased this Outwell Nebraska XL tent in 2007. Had a replacement (minus poles) due to small hole in window. Found it a bit tricky to put up, but with only 2 of us and a 5 year old think we did really well. With all tents think designed for flat surfaces as seams did seem a bit stretched . As always got heavy rain. Got a few leeks on the stressed areas( where main tent joined with porch, due to 3 poles all going into one area....not a great design idea!!) Had a few small leaks on stressed areas. Last holiday in Aug 2009. Very, very , very wet and near gale force winds. Many tents on campsite ended up in bin...but my tent even though took hammering stood the test! Couldn't belive it only let in a few puddles. Took the time to get the seam sealer out when the tent was dry and realy paid attention to the areas that leaked. Brill tent ...love it.....if we had great weather would be in it every weekend in the summer. Outwell are fab quality!!!!

Third time up it turned in to an indoor swimming pool. Rain poured in to the tent like the canvas did not exist. Very expensive waste of money - avoid like the plague. Very poor quality. I will not buy Outwell again.

nebraska xl is a brilliant family tent - loads of space and really solid and leak free in wet weather. Because its big and sturdy, erecting it does take time. However the design is very clever and when you're used to it, erecting it is very straightforward.

We have used our Nebraska XL for the last 2 years. We did have heavy rain at the start of the holiday in 2007 and it did leak like a sieve. We had already tested it at home and been given the waterproofing stuff and seam sealer for nothing to fix the problem while we were on holiday but as the weather was great after that we didn't bother. When we went away to isle of wight last year it was pretty shocking weather most of the time and it didn't leak a drop! go figure! we think that after the in ...

i have just bought the nebraska xl and what a brill tent, the first thing we did was erect this home from home and hose it down, we found the tent quite easy to erect so we were impressed from the word go. we left the tent up overnight to dry out and the heavens opened and it rained heavy for hours and the tent did not leak one little bit. The tent is huge inside and the bedrooms are great too as you can stand up in them with plenty of head room where ever you stand in this tent. lovely big livi ...

Outwell Nebraska XL is a looking tent with a tardis like feel inside. Have two tents and this is just for the long stays - as it does take up quite a bit of room in the car with both a large pole bag and tent trolley bag too - and takes a while to put up. Certainly worth the effort.

Lot of internal pockets and amazing space - especially the living area. Buy an insulated footprint carpet as it is great for the kids to play inside on a night or when it rains. Front porch makes a great cooking an ...

The Outwell Nebraska XL is a nice sized tent but!!! leaked like a sieve
I had one last year and ended up returning it to
http://www.outdoormegastore.co.uk/ and took a credit note
Can't fault their service at all
I understand this model has caused them all sorts of problems and is no longer being made

The Outwell Nebraska XL tent is an excellent concept, layout and features. Had the potential to take camping to a level of very affordable comfort. Apparent poor design and build control delivered a very poor product in my opinion. It seems poorly engineered and I feel received poor quality control on construction. The relationship between the floor, poles and floor tapes mean it can only be erected on perfectly flat ground, and then it has compromises. The workmanship on seams looks very poor, wi ...

Outwel Nebraska XL. I have waited to review as I bought mine at the end of 2007 and only just used it summer 2008. Unlike others bought around the same time my one does not leak. Had very heavy rain and wind in Sugust this year. It performed very well.
It has 2 pods but wouldn't put 4 people in each. It is a perfect size for a family of 4. Porch is very handy for storage/cooking.

Overall we were delighted with the Outwell Nebraska XL. I bought it last year at end of season ready for this year, looking at the ranges on the net it wasn't the tent I would have picked, but when we saw them all next to each other we thought it the best one for what we wanted of the Outwell range, previous comments complained of leaking so I waited for the new model in 2007 but it didn't let in a drop, and did we have some rain over our 2 weeks in France Aug 2008.

Good amount of living space and front porch area is also a good size. Convenient storage pockets and hanging loops make it easy to keep organised. Easy and quick to put up as it goes up all in one. Heavy poles. My family loves it.

Just had a 4 night trip to the Lake District which was very windy and on the 3rd night it rained pretty heavily overnight and well into the following day. The only real water ingress into our tent the Outwell Nebraska XL was from the drips off our coats so we were reasonably happy.
The tent stood firm in heavy winds when others were almost flattened. The rear of the bucket liner for the porch could do with securing points to keep it upright.
Easy enough to erect but it is a pain to expel all th ...

The tent did leak a little the first night we used it but it was very heavy rainfall and we didn't soak the tent first as we were advised to.
I have treated the tent and have not had any problems with water ingress since.

This is a great tent loads of room and easy to put up. Storage pockets and cable entry points which was handy would buy another. Have seen some comments that they leak but when you buy them like with all tents you have to put them up and hose them down to close the needle holes where they have been stitched and then you would not have a problem.

Have to say a fantastic tent. There is plenty of space for a large or small family. (mine being small) (me and my 2 children). If you love Camping this is a tent for you. I had a lot of comments when I last used it and they were all good from passers by and I would recommend it for space and comfort.

If you have time for erect and a large family then is ok. But as I said it is very very very difficult to erect.
