    Good Points: Sumptuous

Bad Points: They don't sell it at Majestic

General comments: The Daddy knows a thing or too about fine wine and let me share a little secret with my fellow reviewers. It's called Torres Vina Sol. I stumbled upon this king of wines whilst on one of my annual vacations in Spain and after consuming a good gallon or so every night I have to confess I'm now a fully paid up Vina Sol addict.

This wine has a strong taste of apple and is extremely fresh with a bit of a kick. I'm advised that it goes down exceptionally well with fish, prawns, chicken and frsh salad but in my humblest of opinions it could be served with bangers and mash and still taste sublime.

If your sunning yourself in Spain then I strongly suggest that you give this wine a try - in a restaurant you could be looking at anything between 8 - 18E per bottle but it is well worth it - especially when you consider the standard of 'the house white' provided by our Spanish cousins.

But what about those poor unfortunates that cannot head out to Spain to sample the genius of Vina Sol? Well my friends, all is not lost because you can pick this wine up here on our rainy shores as well. Sadly and surprisingly my usual wine retailer of choice, Majestic, don't sell this wine. However, Oddbins do a bottle of 'Gran Vina Sol' for just over £7 per bottle. I'm told this version is slightly different but I haven't tested so I couldn't possibly comment.

The value for money option involves Tesco of all places - you can grab a case of Vina Sol for £25 - this is a great deal working out a touch over £4 per bottle. I'd advise that you buy online to avoid the embarassment of being spotted in Tesco though.
