I used 118 247 to find the number of a recovery service as my car had broken down late at night with myself and children. Instead of supplyjnhmd with the number the guy on the phone (who I could barely understand) kept asking me loads of questions as to where I was. After asking him 3 time to just tell me the number I told him to stop asking me questions and answer my initial request. His answer was to hang up. Marvellous 118 247! I was in the middle of Glasgow looking for DVLA office. When I used 118 247 to ask for the name of the street where it was on. They said they could not find it and gave me a Generic no. I indicated that that was nonsense as i at the same time used my google search ( which i will use now forever) and within 5 second the address came up. The person on the other end hung up on me . I have used 118247 for years and could not fault the service. Always polite, accurate and excellent service........NOW over the last couple of months I have taken my business elsewhere, with my job I am on the road a lot and some days I was calling 118247 6 or 7 times a day, recently though their call centre and customer service reps have all been outsorced abroad and the service is SLOW, IN ACCURATE, PAINFUL AND THE LAGUAGE BARRIER IS JUST NOT WORKING. 118247 sort it out as im sure I am... Appalling service. The operator would not seem to listen to me and told me that the property I was looking for a telephone number for did not exist.
Only after explaining 3 times that he must have spelt it wrong, I got the number I was looking for.
Terrible service, very expensive, will never ever use again. (read more)

Terrible service, telephonist did not give me an opportunity to explain where/ what the number was needed for. Got completely the wrong county and when told twice it was the wrong one, he still continued to search! will not be using again. (read more)

I have used and addvertised in the yellow pages !
I would agree to the fact that they offer a great quality service.
You seem to pay for this service though as they are very expensive.
Unfortunately for me though, for what good it did my buisness I may as well have burnt the money to keep warm. I have a FAR FAR Greater concern

Yell.com 118 247 is a quality service, helpful staff, and you don't feel like you're being heckled off the line ready for the next caller. Have tried other 118 services and consider this by far the best. (read more)

Truly abysmal - called for a company had to spell it 4 times and was advised that no such company existed. What a load of cobblers!
I walked into Putney - and lo and behold there they were! then checked on line at yell.com and there they were. Cannot believe that you have to ay for such a lousy service!

Yell.com advisors do everything they can to get you the number required, searching in every possible method and way they can.
It is also important to note that is is down to the individual business if they are listed or not.
In my experience every time I have phoned I have had a professional on the phone, and 9 times out of 10 got a number.

Yell.com 118 247 is a good service, i phoned for an emergency vet in my area and they found one for me, i was very stressed as my cat was ill, but they were very professional and very helpful. I always use them now! (read more)

Over the past fews years i have had to use 118247 many times but it is becoming pointless to use them as they never have the right number or give out the wrong one. then I find it myself quicker on the internet.
This stuff is not rocket science,
I don't normally write reviews but the poor service from 118247 is amazing, don't bother using them,
Sending out text message is all very well, but a just want the correct number. (read more)

I have my own business and was contacted by Yell's 118 and was told that there had been over 300 enquiries regarding my type of business. I was convinced by a 'sales person' to advertise. To date there has been ONE enquiry. (read more)

My hubby was reaching yet another year so thought i would surprise him and arrange a limo so easy through 118247. We really had a fantastic night and the nice limo man even came back to pick us up. Not being able to find this, together with a national emergency number, means I will definitely no longer use Yell. The PR lady was very understanding before, and she took the trouble to investigate, but they clearly have some educational needs in order to serve customers properly. (read more)

I have used 118 24 7 many times now, and I find it very informative indeed. You always find that those who answer the phone are able and willing to help, and there is never any problem with dialect, as you are connected to a UK call centre.
This may increase the cost ever so slightly, but you certainly make up for that with the all round experience on the call. I find that when traveling especially, I can gather local information and get business information very easily. When you are eating... (read more)

I will no longer use Yell 118 247, but I will try some of the others. Yell directory enquiries may be cheaper in comparison tests, but not if you are not given the number you need. (read more)
