Monarch Airlines ZB 7504 / ZB 7505 was a great flight! We where really impressed of the service of Monarch and we landed early! The Crewe of Monarch had given us lots of fun and we all enjoyed it. There was nothing that I didn't like about it and everything was brilliant. We weren't so sure about it because we have never flown with Monarch before but it was the best experience of our lives. We flew on the 4th of July 2015 and now we're going again on the 3rd July 2015 from Manchester at 2.25pm on ZB568. We would've liked to know what it was like before we made our purchase but it was AMAZING. We didn't know about it but it's worth it. We would've like to know more about the service of Monarch before we had made our purchase and also if the take off's and landing's weren't late hopefully early and there where!!!

Booked flights months ago to Hurghada,checked in online 60 days before flight .Took less than 3 minutes to drop off hold baggage 02/12/2014 for flight ZB770 Hurghada. Priority boarding meant just that.Long leg seats worth every penny. As we are both Scuba Divers Monarch honoured the Free 5kgs extra hold baggage allowance each. Aircraft departed on time arrived early in a Hurghada .Flight Crew kept us informed of route and. Cabin Crew were friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble. On 30/12/2014 ZB771 Hurghada /Gatwick, Cabin and Flight Crew also first class. Only moan,booked hotel pre flight and had breakfast. Booked lounge and had breakfast food again as nothing else on offer. In my day pax meals were based on next meal at destination,so we were expecting lunch half way on flight,but had the worst breakfast ever shortly after departure..Meal on return flight was almost as bad,in our opinion pre booked meals are a no no. The snack menus in our opinion were far superior. How ever ,that is the only moan we had ,everything else was First Class. Well done Monarch.we are looking forward to our next.Hurghada flight (minus pre booked meals)

On our resent trip to the UK we chose Monarch to fly us from Gatwick to Faro. Well our situation couldn't have been worse the car company we booked to get us from London to Gatwick let us down by not turning up by the time we got sorted and into a black cab and out to Gatwick we were borderline missing our flight just making it to check in however we were told our bags may not get on and would have to go on the next flight Monarch staff were not making any promises but would do there best. We were very stressed and upset during this period. Well we have to say we and our bags made it onto the flight thanks to the fantastic level of professionalism and assistance from all the Monarch staff. Hats off to you all. THANK YOU. We will fly with you again and once again THANK YOU. Aussies abroad

Recently returned from a weeks holiday to Florida, booked with Monarch. I have absolutely no complaints about them at all. The concierge team are brilliant, answering all our questions in a reasonable amount of time, all staff were really friendly and couldn't seem to do enough for you. The plane was an A330 and although I was told by another passenger that it was older than her (and she must have been 60), it was really clean and in my opinion had plenty of leg room. The food was plentiful, although I did think the food on the outbound flight was alot better than the inbound one. All seats had a clean fleece and pillow and if not upgrading to premium seating, all had good views of the over head tv screens. I wouldn't hesitate to use Monarch/Cosmos again.

I traveled with a friend from Venice Marco Polo to Birmingham at 11.15 on 10th June 2014 and can honestly say that the flight was an absolute pleasure, due solely to the professional service,courtesy and friendliness of the team of 2 stewards and 1 stewardess at the rear of the aircraft. Nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel really welcome on board. We were even given the opportunity to purchase a hot meal and on their recommendation opted for the sausage and mash in cider gravy. It may sound ordinary but it was the tastiest inflight meal we've had and we will certainly pre-select a meal on future flights with Monarch. Even the purchase of duty free items was an enjoyable experience and not the usual rushed chore. We usually prefer a seat near the front of the plane but maybe it's better to sit near the back after all. Well done, this team, you've restored our faith in flying!

We we're not informed by our online booking agent that our flight schedule was changed and we missed our flight by 24 hours. The staff (in particular a lady who's name we never got) went over and above to resolve the situation. Even though we never got on holiday the service we received today was amazing and we would like to say thankyou. Kind regards Pam and Ian

We travelled from LGW to GOA on the 8th March and returned on the 23rd. Both flights were excellent with good food and leg room. The staff worked very hard on the long flights and were most helpful. Good time keeping etc. We are now looking forward to our booked return next Feb. Well done to you all and Many Thanks!

Travelled with monarch on a few occasions and most recently from Luton to Tenerife return on a modern, clean and well presented airbus a321-231. Myself 5ft 10 and two friends both over 6ft tall had no noticeable lack of legroom compared to any other uk airline. Infact I found the seats more than suitable for a four hour flight. As with any airline these days everything is an added extra but when compared with the likes of Ryanair, easyjet, Thomas cook and even Thomson monarch stack up well. The staff were courteous, professional and polite and found the inflight service well above industry standard these days. We pre-booked inflight meals (not available on most uk airlines anymore) which were nice and worth the extra cost. I honestly can't see what people expect an economy ticket is an economy seat and having flown with most (if not all) uk competitors over the years I can't see any real issues whatsoever. The only negative I can find is seat recline! This is invasive and creates arguements and tension during flights and is unecessary on short/medium haul sectors in my opinion. That asside I consider as a short/medium haul operator I wouldn't hesitate to use again as I don't feel for prices that are charged Thomson or Thomas cook offer any better product, especially for the cost! As for long haul I can not comment as I have never used monarch for this. Overall great experience keep up the good work monarch as with most reviews people only review a product when it's negative but in my many flights it's been complete opposite!

My wife who is disabled and myself often use Monarch Airlines and we have never had cause to complain. We get extra legroom seats at no extra cost on production of a Dr's letter confirming her disability and the staff are always willing to do whatever is needed to make her journey as comfortable as possible. We will carry on using Monarch as long as we need to.

I believe your headline is misleading. I agree that Monarch on board crew are helpful, competent and professional however where Monarch services fall down (rapidly) is in their customer services, EU Claims and legal departments who are basically trying to 'prop up' an ageing fleet of planes which are not totally reliable which has the knock-on result of a delay. By far the majority of flights (97%) depart within 3 hours of their scheduled time however if you are unfortunate enough to fall into the 3% delayed over 3 hours then Monarch have a terrible record for looking after their customers both during the delay and when customers follow up after the event with the airline.

The aircraft was very new. We booked extra legroom seats, I certainly would recommend doing so. Very comfortable. The crew were very pleasant and helpful, and the flight was on time. What more can you ask for? Thank you.

Was dreading my flight to Turkey due to a fear of flying. I needn't have worried, fantastic price, great flight times, excellent seat and finally can't thank the air stewardess enough, she deserves a medal! Will be using again, definitely!

Travelled with Monarch from Birmingham to Arrecife and return on 4/11.05.2013.Aircraft used was and Airbus A321 and both flights were first class. Admittedly we booked extra legroom seats which were great. Crews in both directions were excellent and both flights arrived early.Would definitely use Monarch again as long as extra legroom seats available - I am 6ft 3ins and struggle in economy to get comfortable.

Travelled London Gatwick to Montego Bay (MON9095) 09-04-2013 an 11+ hours with some advance worries.... but great flight good leg room and lovely cabin crew Gatwick check in well organised too ! ...

Check in at Gatwick for Flight No: ZB746 to Funchal Madeira very quick and staff at desk very polite and efficient. On boarding the aircraft on our outbound journey, as usual we were greeted by the cabin crew and for once, it was a genuine greeting, which ended up our having a brief conversation (luckily there was nobody behind us! Our inbound flight was equally as nice and the crew were very mature/genuine in their attitude. Aircraft for both journeys was an Airbus, which was really clean, bright and fresh inside. Seats very comfortable and clean and enough legroom on normal seats (even for those, we noticed, of big build!). We had no delays both ways and both flights had no turbulence whatsoever and the landings were very good too. Captains for both flights offered enough information for the route, as and when necessary. Have flown with this company many times in past years and as it has always been our favourite charter/scheduled airline, we will definitely not hesitate to travel with them again.

We booked with Monarch from Manchester to Palma on the recommendation of friends and family, then began to regret it as tales of delays, indifferent staff service and poor quality planes bombarded the Internet and press. We had previously travelled with British Midland, and subsequently BMIBaby, from EMI to Palma for over 20 years, with minimal problems. However, our experience of travelling with Monarch was excellent - only a slight delay, very good cabin service and plenty of legroom on the airbus. Based on our experience of 17th December, we have no problem in recommending Monarch - but clearly we were dealing with a Monarch plane and Monarch trained staff!

I really have to mention the staff on the return flight. She was excellent. Seeing me and my partner were exceptionally tall, she put us on the emergency exit aisle. I cannot believe the difference in leg room. I won't be able to fly any other way now. Very good. Thanks Loly in Barcelona.

Firstly, I like Monarch. I use them when I can. If I have a choice I use them. Why? They are not the best airline out there, (fly Virgin, BA see what I mean) BUT, at least they are pretty up front and honest. What you see is what you get. They have to run with the crowd to get people to use them, thats what they do. SO, along with many others lesser and better.... If there are two of you flying and you want to sit next to each other you have to pay £10 each. WHY? If one person pays £10 to sit next to the other, why has the second person have to pay to sit next to the first as this will happen as the first person paid £10 to do so....True? If there ever was a con job, this is it. Money (your money) for free. KERCHING!

They are not the only budget airline that charge for pre book seats. This has been going for years with Thomas Cook. However if you check in with plenty of time chances are you will be seated together anyways.

Flew Monarch end of June in a party of 7 with 3 children from Manchester. check in who were friendly and helpful to the cabin crew who were really good and the aircraft was clean and early both ways. Would indeed recommend Monarch to anybody i know they have delays and what airline does not, so i think maybe people should realise this is not BA so stop moaning and get booking with MONARCH they are the cheapest and best.
