“simply the best!”

We have been members of this club for years now. Have tried the rest, but have found STWC wines to be well worth paying a bit extra for. Have tried our best to find a wine we haven't liked to use the money back guarantee, but only ever had to take advantage of this on one occasion. The sales team are always helpful and are not pushy when you don't want to purchase special offers, etc. We have been to the wine festival in London for the past 4 years and have made a weekend of it every year... I am puzzled by some of the criticism in a few of the reviews. My experience with the STWC over many years has been excellent. I have checked other wine clubs at various times and discovered that they assume the customer already has a good knowledge of wine before ordering. As I knew very little about wine when I first ordered from the STWC, I found the monthly promotional literature provided much more information than was available elsewhere. My husband and I have been ordering online (mostly) for several years now and we have probably had maybe 2 wines that have not been to our tastes, although we still finished the bottle! Occasionally we are contacted regarding wine offers and this is the only time we are happy to receive calls from somebody in a sales team!! I have been using STWC for about 8 years. Other than First Direct, they have consistently the finest customer service of any internet retailer I use. The wines are very good value, the firm is clever to encourage you to go only slightly outside your comfort zone, and I have enjoyed many new wines because of them. Do not, I repeat, do not use The Sunday Times Wine Club. If things go wrong they will not correct their mistake. They delivered my wine to the wrong address and ignored my letters of complaint. (read more)

Despite me ringing 3 times & requesting a call back - no-one rang me back. In the end I went with Tesco (who were smashing) Sunday Times Wine Club's arrogance is staggering. We are in the middle of a recession, yet they simply cannot be bothered to off even the most basic level of customer service. I will never bother with this joke of a company again. (read more)

I've been a member of the Sunday Times wine club for 8 years. It is outstanding. The wines are almost without exception excellent. I don't have to wander along the supermarket shelves wondering what might taste good - I just leave it to them, knowing that I will get a great variety and that they will all taste great.
The best part of the deal, however, is the call centre. While every other call centre seems to be the other side of the world and staffed with people who don't have a clue,...

Superb wines, much better quality and better priced than any supermarkets or other online wine merchants. Have had many happy years drinking with them and would not go elsewhere, service impeccable. (read more)

The wine delivered is always excellent and you can tailor your choices to suit your budget. I cant bear to purchase wines from the supermarkets anymore as I feel they are not of the same standard. I have not had a bad glass yet. Very glad I joined. (read more)

I have been a member for many years and cannot really compare with any other club. However, I see no need to change - the wine is always exceptional, the service and staff are always very helpful and have never ever got any request or query wrong(the person who wrote a 1 star review must have called the wrong wine club!) and the wine is always delivered on time - Excellent. I have been a member of the wine club for many years. The choice of wines is second to none whether you want an inexpensive everyday wine or an expensive classic fine wine. Stacks of choice. Delivery is faultless. Staff very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I would not get my wines from anywhere else. The monthly mailings outlining all the current wines take all the guesswork out of what to buy. Well done everyone at the club. Helpful, friendly, excellent value and prompt delivery.... (read more)

This,The Sunday Times Wine Club, like many other wine clubs, is run by Laithwaite's - but with somewhat different staff at least. But how to compare differnet clubs without joining for years and keeping very good records?
I've been ten years with this one and the biggest problem I have is that it's hard to order by email. In other words: overall very satisfied

Presently delighted with Schroeders PATAGONIAN red. Having moved through Burgundy to Rioja and Vina Tarapaca reds I believe that this PATAGONIAN red is the BEST yet. Keep up the good work !!

A friend introduced me to The Sunday Times Wine Club earlier this year. It worked out quite good value (opening offer was a crate of 15 mixed wines at about £2.70 per bottle). I also ended up with a ring-binder with info about each wine, plus a free wine cooler pack.
I have to admit that, having received my second crate just over a month ago, the wines are still working out at very good value for money. Plus, you get some very nice wines that are not easy to find elsewhere. I've had South...

I'm already a member of the Laithwaites Wine Club, but saw this Sunday Times Wine Club deal at a cashback site called Internet Cashback. I checked it out and noticed that this Wine Club is run by the same company as Laithwaites (Direct Wines Ltd). However they must run different databases because I could sign up as a new member and take advantage of their new member offer, getting 24 bottles for just £75.00! That's just over £3 a bottle for wines that are very good.

My husband and I joined the Sunday Times Wine Club a few months ago, and we have been delighted with the choice of wines, the delivery and in particular the special offers.
Recently they sent me an offer, and I ordered three cases of wine and I with my voucher I saved over £90 - what a bargain. The wine, which is of excellent standard, worked out to be less than £3 per bottle. I must say my wine cellar is looking a lot more healthy these days, with a superb choice at all times.
