In my experience, the Air Arms S410 sidelever FAC (.22 calibre) is an excellent piece of kit. With an Air Arms silencer fitted, the rifle is near silent.

I have owned this rifle for 12 months and have enjoyed its pinpoint accuracy with 16 and 18 grain pellets out to 60 metres, with tight groups out to as much as 75 metres on a still day with no wind or light airs (with a 3-12x50 scope). I have found that the rifle is most suited to wasted Air Arms 'field' or RWS 'superfield' pellets (16 grains), while air 'bullets' (like Defiant) deliver slightly less consistent results at all ranges on my particular gun.

Certainly, I have found that the rifle is good enough for consistent humane kills of small game (e.g., rabbit) right out to the longer ranges. Beyond 80m, however, with lighter ammunition, I have found that the accuracy is less reliable and is not suitable for humane hunting.

The walnut stock is of superior quality and brings the eye in good line with a scope. At the same time, the gun is superbly balanced. The rifle's lack of a regulator and low number of shots at 30 ft-Ibs on its "sweet spot" (about 15 shots at 900 fps with less than 10 fps variation) is not a problem as far as I am concerned as I rarely exceed 10 shots on an average hunting trip. If there is any drawback at all in design, in my experience to date it is the knurled screw for varying air discharge power located near the breech, which can at times be unknowingly pushed off its setting while cleaning the rifle or in the field. Once the shooter is aware of this, however, he or she knows to check for it prior to each trip and during shooting, and so it should not present a problem as any unwanted change in power setting can be corrected by hand.

All in all, this is really a high quality rifle and good value for money. I would highly recommend it for efficient small game hunting and vermin control.

    My second comment.
Owned the extra for about 2 years ish plus or minus a bit and what a wonderful weapon. Managed to use a Parker hale universal adapter to fit a weirach? silencer and now beautiful and quiet. Makes the gun bloody long though and got to be careful not to knock it, as i must have done because i had an accuracy issue and it turned out to be the pellets hitting the internal baffles in the silencer. New silencer job sorted. Still taking vermin out easiuly at 80 plus yards and even t ...

I have owned this Air Arms air rifle for 9months now and havn't had a single problem with it.I love the power and it kills cleanly at over 70yds.I t gives a fair crack when on full power but i bought an air-arms silencer and this has virtually elliminated the noise. I found that heavier pellets produce better accuracy and give cleaner kills. Great gun!

I've had the Air Arms S410 Xtra FAC Side lever 177 caliber model for about three months now and shot about 3000 pellets so far which I think is enough time and shots to give a reasonable review on this air rifle. I myself was checking review after review and specs for a whole month before I came to a final decision. I actually had the chance to try a Weithrauch with thumbhole stock, accurate, but way too heavy and too ugly and a BSA Superten which was pretty accurate but again too heavy and didn' ...

I own 7 airguns, 3 springers, 2 CO2s, and 2 PCPs and this Air Arms S410 SL XTRA FAC .22 has quickly become my 1st choice to use for plinking, targets, and hunting. It is exceptionally quiet with 30-32 lbs./ft. of power.

Took a while for me to eventually get my hands on my 410, but when i did was i happy. Ordered in walnut left hand. Fitted a set of 8 - 24 x 50 Tasco sights(cheapskate) but work bloody well. As i said was very surprised by the crack that comes from it on full power, but can live with that as taking rabbits and magpies out freehand at 50 yards. Once tested over a period of time will leave more feedback.

Lovely rifle and the finish is great. I would think twice about buying one of these again, for I cannot understand why I applied for one of these rifle to be put onto my firearms certificate when I should have asked my FEO for a .17HMR. Also beware once its on your firearm certificate, you have it for life so to speak. It isn't like a normal air rifle that you can sell or swop down the pub or with your mates. After saying that this has to be a fantastic bunny shooting rifle, whisper quiet and ac ...

Air Arms S410 Xtra FAC .22 - I have owned this rifle from new for a year. As I am left handed the dealer ordered a left handed version for me which was manufactured by Air Arms and delivered to the dealer in only a week.
The rifle has a knurled knob enabling the power to be reduced and so increasing the number of shots on a single charge. I have never used this feature and so cannot comment on it.
I have only used Air Arms Field Pellets and they have offered predictable results with this rif ...
