    Dangerous baby seat fitting service.
The assistant fitted the seat incorrectly and dangerously. Fortunately we had seen it done properly elsewhere and had read instructions. When challenged assistant admitted he was not trained and didn't know how to do it.

Whole point of Halfords service is because many people fit seats wrong/incorrectly. If we hadn't been aware, our baby would be travelling dangerously and could have been seriously injured.

Ordered a child car seat from Halfords online 6 weeks before baby's due date. Despite being marked as available on the website, after payment I promptly received an email notifying me that the item was out of stock and would be delivered within three weeks. I thought ok, that should still be alright. Exactly three weeks later I received another email telling me that there is still no stock and my order has been cancelled. Four days later the baby arrived and had no car seat. Had to borrow one fr ...

Well I suppose I'll start with the good points about Halfords, as far as I can tell there wasn't actually anything wrong with the individual items that I bought, and they were all fairly well priced. The layout of my local store isn't anything spectacularly good or bad and I didn't notice any vermin etc.
Unfortunately that marks the end of the good points. I've been having bike problems for a while now and the "professionals" at halfords have been repeatedly taking it in to be fixed, serviced et ...

I would never receommend this shop in putney to anyone for the following reasons
    1. the customer serivce is horrible, I dont want them to worship me,but they can do their jobs correctly!!
    2. the cycles are never tested correctly. My cycle was punctured the minute i took it out and im sure these people are not going to help.
    3. You will never get the cycles on time. They would only start to assemble when we reach there!
    4. Abosultely no help from any of the staff and you can tell that they are ...

I wanted to change my original 6 cd changer in my 52 reg Audi A6 as it does not play MP3/ does not have any LCD to hook rear view camera in. Did not want to spend £500 including fitting etc, hence bought the ripspeed in dash DVD player for £89.00 from Halfords.com ( refurbished, but with 12 month warranty). This was £109 including fitting, much much cheaper than anything else, even the foreign products on ebay ( if you add fitting).

However, had problems with fitting- went to ...

My family and I decided to take up bike riding so tried to fix our bikes instead of buying new ones. After determining what we needed (three tyres and six inner tubes), we went to our local Halfords. When we went in,we headed to the bike hut at the back of the room and looked at the tyres available. My bike tyre was 26x195, a measurement no longer sold. We asked if this was the same as 26x190 and were told to wait for the expert who was in the back. 15 minutes later we were still waiting for the ...

I bought my son a GT Tempest 1.0 jump bike earlier this year (not from Halfords)and asked Halfords to set it up (could have done it at home, but I wanted him to get a professional set up). The Bike Hut staff set the bike up and gave me their years service pack too. Seemed good to me - Happy so far.
On riding his bike, my son complained that it kept jumping out of gear. When I informed the Bike Hut of this, I was told he must have been using the wrong Chainring/sprocket combinations, end of discu ...

Halfords is one of the worst shops I have ever come across. On trying to buy a bike for my 3 year old son I got sent from one store to another unnecessarily and ended up with nothing, things weren't ready when they should have been (for my daughters bike) and to top it off when I confirmed my resevation online to be picked up in 3 days time I was then called and told "we won't have it I'm cancelling your order - try and find it somewhere else!". Halfords need to look at restructuring their sy ...

Bad customer service at Halfords. Bought a TOM TOM that had no map, was told to download it and it was out of date by nearly 3 months and was told could not have refund or exchange. I am unhappy with the level of service and will never shop at Halfords again.

I was given some vouchers for halfords i normally don't shop there but as i had the vouchers and needed some stuff i decided to use them, I checked before hand on their website which clearly states that if the item is of lower value than the voucher change will be given in vouchers and the odd in cash upon paying for my purchase i had £30 in vouchers in 3 x £10.00, my items came to £23.59 i gave him the vouchers expecting change in vouchers and some cash but he told me that the ...

I have twice reserved items advertised prominently on their homepage from halfords and had to make journeys to out of town stores to collect them. I have had confirmation that the items were in stock only to find that on both occasions the stores have been out of stock for months. The sales staff have seemed less than helpful to me although a lot of this could be down to their employers sending them customers to collect items they are well aware are not in stock. Why advertise stock you don't ha ...

Review of Halfords - 1. Having experienced a bottom racket problem with my bike, I went to Halfords to ask what could be done to solve the problem. With apparently no idea of how to solve the problem the employee just said that the bike would have to be taken in for a week so they could make the repair. Something that's not particularly useful when you use your cycle to commute everyday. Another LBS was was used to sort this problem.2. A special promotion by a cereal company was running, enablin ...

Halfords has got to be the only chain of stores whereby each store I've visited I have dealt with an employee who seems to know nothing about the products they sell. I've lost count of the number of times I've wanted to ask a sales assistant about a type of oil or car stereo connection, only to be told by someone who looks like the 17 year old student 'expert' that they 'aren't 100% sure.'
Furthermore, Halfords seems to pride itself on the cycling sections most of the stores have. Hmmm...every t ...

i purchased a 'Shockwave' bike, one of Halfords' own brand. At first it looked to be a good buy it was good value and it seemed to be of good build. It was on only my second bike ride that the back wheel buckled, I didn't feel overly concerned as I knew Halfords to be a large company and I felt it would be no problem to take it back, how mistaken I was.
On returning the bike to the shop I was initially told that they would repair the wheel but not replace it. I was unhappy with this and told th ...

One unit replaced within four months, touch screen didn't work. Replacement unit sat positioning takes anything up to twenty minutes. New antenna fitted I'll reserve judgement.

Unit was fitted by Halfords in Derby. Seemingly poor fitting and had to be refitted by another garage. Would not recommend their fitting service to anyone.

Bought a road bike, part bust within 5 miles of first ride. Was fixed by Halfords. The fixed part broke again within 11 weeks of being replaced, now Halfords don't want to know and are trying to say the bike had been dropped and making out I am a liar.
Still ongoing, has not been resolved.

I've now bought 2 bikes in 2 years from Halfords and never again. Both bikes were £400-500 and respectable makes but when delivered to the store the trouble started and after sales care has been shocking.

Both bikes had gears out of synch and the latest bike had a fork lock-out feature to the suspension which when I returned it to the store after it broke down (after a maiden 2mile journey) I was told that the gears will be sorted but the fork issue was normal and you cant get a full loc ...
