“Poor customer service and bad experience. Avoid!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by BrentAllen468 on 23/03/2023

Totally disgusting customer service from Inghams. They cant be bothered to transfer us at a decent time to Geneva... so, for a 2pm flight, they want us to leave Saas Fee at 6:45 to arrive at the airport at 9:45. And due tonearly transfer, no shuttles run at this 4* hotel so asked to drag all our luggage on foot for more than 350m because they can't be bothered to meet the terms of our holiday. Zip engagement from the resort rep. Poor, poor, poor. Advise against using this company.

“Do not use”

We arrived at Yllas on 28.11.21 The bedrooms in the cabin upstairs were not suitable and totally unusable all we have 2 young grandchildren 5 and 7 there was no way they could have gone up the stairs, my daughter could not go up there as she needed to be with the children and neither my husband or myself felt comfortable to go up and down them as they were very narrow and dangerous - so my husband ended up sleeping on the sofa for 3 nights ! not good for £6000 The cabins were ½ a hour walk to the hotel and by the time my husband and I had walked to the shop (there was no tea ,coffee, milk bread etc ) we were exhausted, luckily my daughter and grandchildren didn’t come as they were trying to get the snow suit sorted out. To then have to walk to the evening meal and back nearly killed me, I knew there was a walk but not such a long one along an unlit road in the snow. The next morning we had snow mobiles booked but when we looked it was at 8.30 am (6.30 our time) and not at the hotel where we had to go for breakfast but near the shop – there was no way we could get to breakfast and then to the pick up point by 8.30 so we advised the reps that we would not be able to attend, they advised that we would not get a refund – this is not our fault it was a ridiculous time and although we were offered an alternative the reps said that it was too tight to fit both the snowmobiles and the husky/reindeer rides in, so we had to decline. We had to get taxis to and from the hotel for our meals as there was no way I was walking that distance with two small children along a dark unlit road 4 times a day. The husky/reindeer day started off nice, we did the reindeer ride first and then the huskies, it was so cold on the huskies it was unbearable, all we were given was a very thin blanket – my husband and I have both done the husky rides several times at other centres and we were given sheepskin rugs and thick blankets to put on. Luckily we took some heat packs and we were not too bad but when we went into the wooden hut to get warm there was no fire and a woman suffering from hypothermia, she was delirious – her husband was trying to look after her and her 3 boys with no assistance from the rep ( who came in and then left without offering any assistance). We tried to help as much as we could but then children were coming in screaming in pain as it was so cold – this was horrendous to see and again there was no rep – we gave out as many heat packs as we had but I do think that the rep should at least have been in there making sure everyone was ok - this was an awful thing to see I had looked forward to this holiday for a long time and it cost us a small fortune, in my opinion the staff did not have enough training and we were the first visitors this year so they didn’t really seem to know what they were doing and the log cabin was not suitable for 6 people to safely sleep in.

Trust all reviews and do not book with Inghams. I wish I had read the reviews and trusted them. Had a week over new year at Meribel Chalet Les Grangettes. The information we received prior to travelling was ok, although the hand luggage dimensions was different when we arrived at the airport which did cause some issues but nothing major. However our issues started with our representative. ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING service - no replies to messages, replying days later, lack of information provided, rude, unprofessional - the list goes on. After complaining to Inghams their response is just 'well other guests don't agree'. Despite having evidence of the representatives lack of communication Inghams have no desire or inclination to retain a customer or resolve a grievance. I wouldn't book with them or recommend to anyone

“If the cost of holiday extras is important -BEWARE”

written by Disappointed31 on 25/11/2019

Booked a ski holiday with Inghams, was impressed with Ski package deals available if booked before 1st December, when I went to book lift passes today was told they no longer did them, we have had no notification from the company that they would be withdrawing the offers. This may seem petty however ski packages/lift pass costs add considerably to the overall cost of a holiday and has often influenced my choice when picking a holiday. Inghams rep initially claimed it was now a Canadian policy but when I checked with other ski companies they are all still offering pre bookable lift passes. Really poor customer service

“Terrible company will take your money and not provide ”

written by qjKent150 on 27/07/2018

We booked an expensive holiday to Italy and were only told 2 weeks before that the pool would not be in operation. We were asked to go to a massively inferior pool or to stay at a massively inferior hotel (for the same money) in recompense. I asked for our monies to be returned as I would not have booked. This was refused. We were told we could look through the brochure and go on another holiday but at their normal prices. They would not give any discount although the beautiful lake view we had chosen and paid for was obscured by orange netting and it was very hot so we could not have the restful holiday planned. IT completely ruined the holiday and changed the holiday. I did complain to Inghams who were completely and utterly uninterested and did not care. They tried to prevent me speaking to a manager and we simply happy to keep the money we paid and not give the holiday we paid for. DO NOT USE INGHAMS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES

“Inghams - Watch Out for what they don't tell you!!!!!!!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 21/09/2017

We booked a Mountain holiday in Austria at the 5* Kempinski through Inghams. They were so unhelpful with transfer information when we wanted to change to BA and neglected to mention we couldn't check in in advance on the Thomson charter. Paid for an aisle seat and ended up opposite each other as we couldn't sit together , Thomson's said it would leave a seat free which they would have trouble filling. Got to Innsbruck and then waited at least an hour for several flights to arrive and the transfer was a joke. There was a problem at every resort we stopped in which caused delays while the Rep bit his nails and told us what a hard day he had. We were the last stop and it was clear no provision had been made to take us to our hotel. Finally we got there to find that the 'upgrade when available' as per the Ingham's brochure wasn't available, but the room was lovely anyway. Kempinski was lovely and the staff couldn't do enough for us, food was great. We then had to phone our Rep to understand collection details at the end of our holiday, these were left at reception for us. We were outside 20 minutes early but when we got to Kitzbuhel it transpired the airport coach had left without us. We were called stragglers and asked if we had arrived late. We were then driven at some speed to catch the coach and when we did get on people had to move so we could sit together. Speaking to the man beside me he had similar experiences with the airport transfers. I have never left a review before but when I wrote to Ingham's (another first) I was told it was 'unfortunate' and they countered my comments with the Rep views. Implication was that I had fabricated my version!! They told me they would consider separate transfers for future Kempinski guests so they would benefit from our unfortunate experience. Make sure you read the small print and book with Thomson's!!!!!

“Inghams chose a hotel they knew wasn't suitable ”

written by on 16/08/2017

We have just returned from a holiday in Austria arranged by Inghams. It was a single week's family holiday which we all needed. But when we arrived at the hotel our room was a full two corridors away from our daughter's. The hotel Q! Resort & Spa - couldn't have cared less and did absolutely nothing to sort the situation out. They did say Inghams knew when they booked the hotel that they wouldn't be able to give us adjoining rooms. I asked the Inghams rep to sort it out. She insisted on speaking to the hotel alone. They later told me that she told them that I wasn't bothered about moving room and not to bother with the situation because I wouldn't be upset. They were therefore surprised when I explained my distress at the end of the holiday. Both companies may be lying, but I wouldn't put my precious holiday in the hands of Inghams - or Q! Resort & Spa in Kitzbuhel. One or both of these companies were dishonest.

“Avoid Inghams Ski holidays”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 08/04/2016

Came to the Pic Blanc hotel, Alpe D'Huez with Inghams Ski We booked with Inghams and posted a report on Tripadvisor about the hotel in March 2016 when we returned. I had written to Inghams prior to our departure having seen very negative reports about the food at the hotel on Tripadvisor. Ingham's response was there they were monitoring the situation and noted that postings on Tripadvisor were subjective and that the negative reports had to be treated with some caution. The Ingham's brochure had advertised "good four course meals" in the evening. The reality was that the evening meal comprised a buffet of starters, mains, and desserts. The mains were appalling both in quality and presentation. We reported the situation to the Inghams rep when we were there and he noted that he intended to eat there one evening to see the situation for himself. It was clear that Inghams were certainly not monitoring the situation as they had claimed. On return we wrote again to Inghams asking for a refund of the approximate cost of an evening main meal which we estimated to be around 20 Euros for each evening we were at the hotel. Inghams claim now that "We cannot agree Inghams misrepresents the quality of food at the hotel" and "recognise only three courses instead of four were available to you. For this we sincerely apologise. It was our genuine expectation that four courses are provided. I can understand how disappointing not to receive all courses expected. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention". And the result? A £25 voucher redeemable against the cost of a future Inghams holiday. That works out as a compensation of about £2 per person per night for having to put up with six appallingly disappointing dinners. Inghams have been told what they can do with their voucher. Inghams Ski Holidays? Never again

“Lied about rooms”

★☆☆☆☆

written by 132English on 23/03/2016

We booked Hotel Heitzman in Zell am see through Inghams, then were notified that building works were taking place. We were told by guest srevices "Hotel Heitzmann has guaranteed that all of their rooms, including the suit, will not face the building works" 3 rooms that we paid extra for overlooked the buiding works. We reported this in resort, no outcome, just trying to brush us off. We have photos and videos to back this up. I am truly disgusting in this blatant lie... No way to treat a group of 16. No wonder they have so many bad reviews!

“Never again”

written by GerryLinda on 06/02/2016

Booked a holiday with Inghams because they fly into Innsbruck which was about 17 miles (around a 30 minute drive) from the resort we were going to. On arrival at Birmingham airport we were told that we were being diverted to Munich because the pilot of the replacement airline was not qualified to fly into Innsbruck. This was not a problem but meant a 2 hour drive to our resort. These thing happen. The journey actually took SIX hours and took us to Innsbruck airport and when I complained all I got was contradictions. Having been travelling since midnight and not arriving at our hotel until 6pm this was a shoddy way to treat customers. If you want a grand coach tour of Germany and Austria (not) book with Inghams. If you want a decent holiday with a reputable company book with Thomson.

“uncaring company.”

written by Kassidyu16 on 20/10/2015

All well until last day. NO breakfast because they forgot to arrange it.NO transfer to airport. Kept waiting until a taxi arrived just making to airport. No time to eat at airport. No duty free. They didn't arrange food on plane. Not so much as sorry. Contacting them on return. No response worth having. Plenty of we will email. No they wont. We will phone you back. No they wont. A cheque for £7.58 is all a customer is worth. This is the rudest most uncaring company I have ever used. Never again. Be warned they don't give a dam. PS the cheque will be returned to them. Perhaps they can put it towards staff training on how not to be so rude.

“Broken promises, misinformation and rude staff”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 28/06/2015

I recently returned from a holiday to St Anton with Inghams and have been left incredibly frustrated and unimpressed with them. They gave out information on the wrong resort in the welcome pack as well as times for a rep visit for a rep who wasn't even in the country that week! When I rung up to see what was going on, the rep I spoke to was rude, refused to apologise for any of the screw ups and even attempted to blame me somehow 'for not being there when he visited earlier that afternoon' despite the fact I had not been told he would be coming then. I was also promised to have messages left regarding departure information, amongst other things, which weren't given until the following day- the day of departure. Overall very very unhappy with Inghams and won't be using them again. I won't be recommending them to friends, I will be actively discouraging them

“Where to begin?”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Cestrienne on 28/05/2015

We are a couple in our mid seventies and to save hassle, we booked through Inghams, flights, transfers and hotel in Bellagio. We booked in January for May and booked a room with a lake view. Thank goodness, we did it all through the excellent Deva Travel of Chester. THREE days before our flight, we had a call from Deva saying that because of a computer error, the hotel had not received our booking. The admirable young lady at Deva obviously pulled out all the stops and saved the situation. We ended up in a nice large room with a partial lake view from a balcony. Inghams gave us one free excursion which we took. We booked another activity, a wine tasting. This is where it almost becomes amusing. We were given a ticket for 21st and the tasting was on the 20th. We turned up on the wrong day. The local rep seemed to find it odd that I double checked the time and date for the return pickup. The large act in the farce came when we and some other Inghams guests went to the Flybe desk where we had been told to go, congratulating ourselves on being at the front of the queue. A flustered rep came round and directed us to another Flybe desk round the corner and we found ourselves at the back of a long queue. Inghams had said that feedback forms would be handed out. They weren't and we and our companions in misfortune wondered why ;-)

“Non existant Ingham, book your ski holiday without them”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Aden387 on 27/04/2015

Ingham were great at the booking stage, but then deteriorated from then on, we were promised a informative welcome meeting, did not happen, we were promised a leaving info meeting, did not happen, we were given some scrappy over photo copied info sheet. This was our very first ski trip, never again with Ingham. Oh and if you think of complaining, expect a bad attitude from the rep, and then nothing. The ingham taxi driver told us it was a shambles and that he couldn't wait to leave at the end of the season. Oh well you live and learn!

“The brochure lies and then they won't provide...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by NancyMcWilliams276 on 26/03/2015

I could go on at lenght about them. On a recent holiday the staff were great. But if you read their brochure then more fool you. The items appear to be more what they would like to do. Wifi in rooms... erm nope. Cable TV ... yes.. but in an all English guest hotel, there are no English channels! When you complain to them about this they offer 100 quid off the next holiday having just taken 10 grand off you. They don't care, aren't honest and will stonewall you. Very sad as I thought they were the best. Now I realise they just don't care.

“Worst ski experience EVER!!!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Jonas14 on 02/01/2015

Arrived to chaos in Chambery for ski holiday on 27/12// 14 to absolute chaos! Inghams staff didn't care about the CUSTOMER (4 x adult 4 x children). Had to overnight in airport where Inghams staff didn't offer food or drink only the local authority did this. Transfer next day that took 5 hours instead of the normal 2 with no apologies or anything. Lost one days skiing and ski lessons for kids as well as one nights accomodation - fully catered. No offer of compensation as this is "all dealt with in UK"! End of week and we are now being told transfer is at 08.50 for a 18.30 flight! No real explanation and yet again no care for the CUSTOMER. Had a meeting with the resort manager here in Val Thornes and yet again the attitude was they don't care. Asked to speak the Inghams airport mgr - Chr?s - and was told that he would not speak to us so there is no point. Absolute shambles and I cannot recommend Inghams to anyone! No customer service, emphathay or explanation. Evidently we have to actually make a complaint to be noticed despite the fact that we spent the night on the airport floor - all in all an absolute disgrace and in short a company to be avoided at all costs!!

Regrettably I have to agree with this review. The lack of communication by inghams at Chambery airport was abysmal. We arrived at 7.30pm, the reps made no attempt to identify their customers and made no announcements that related to our group until 1.40am. A cold night in the airport was then made worse by inghams reps over promising on when coaches would be available - first 8.15am, then 11.15 and finally we eventually left the airport at 2.30pm. As a result of my experience I would strongly recommend that you book elsewhere. Inghams staff don't appear to care about their customers.

Having just returned home 2 days late after a Christmas ski break in Meribel I feel a need to to express my disgust and disappointment in the treatment we received from inghams staff . A catalogue of mis information and disgraceful treatment during a traumatic experience has left me feeling angry and shocked at this company . People, families were treated like livestock and in many cases were not offered food and drink for over 10 hours . In a nutshell I would never use or recommend anyone to use this tour operator and I will be filing a more detailed report directly to Inghams head office ! Although based on my recent experience I fully expect to be ingnored ,
