Good Points: The shop and the toilets/showers were clean
Bad Points: The camp site was average although the spot was infested with midges and I mean infested!! As the night went on my three young children were treated to a host of expletives from people that seemed to descend upon this site. The bar was loud and already very drunk people were provided with yet more alcohol. Those that were not obtaining more alcohol at the bar were indulging in yet more drinking to excess in their tents and once again treating us to a barrage of swearing. Indeed, I believe air crews and fire fighters were called to deal with some of those who were foolish enough to swim in the loch in the dead of night.
General comments: This is not somewhere to go for peace and quiet and although some people may strike lucky when they go I would personally not risk it. Scary, frightening and obscene. I braved the midges at midnight packed my tent and left relieved that my kids would not have to witness any more than they had already.

Beinglas campsite in Loch Lomond is an amazing place, with all the facilities and spotlessly clean. All the staff are pleasant and helpful, and it was great to find an indoor shelter in bad weather, which also had cooking facilities and washing and drying machines.
It is certainly the best place I have camped, and I highly recommend it.

Beinglas Campsite is right on the West Highland way. It is fabulous for walkers! The food is amazing. The scenery is lovely, and the place was spotlessly clean with good facilities. It is slightly dearer compared to other campsites, as it is in the middle of a popular walk. Loch Lomond is a few miles away, so there is only a river there, and the midges are fierce. The food was great value for money. Try to book at the height of the season, as this site is well used by walkers.
