I have had my Hill Billy for over three years the design particularly the bag straps need improving. The only part I have had to replace is the switch. I have found the cart to be very reliable having used it over 200 times. Reading some of the other reviews is alarmimg and makes me wonder if it is all going to go wrong. (read more)

We have two HillBillys which have worked well for my wife and I. Since there appears to be no distributors in Canada and we need parts in Calgary, we are hoping that nothing major goes wrong. It's really hard to find parts since the distributor in Canada is no longer selling Hillbillys. Help needed to find new battery charger distributors so that we can go on for another 7 years with a good product??? (read more)

Bought from Pro as a package with a bag on November 2011. Looked a good deal for £299. Changed from Powakaddy Freeway which was 10 years old and giving lots of trouble. Prices for new Powakaddy are ridiculous so I bought Hill Billy, naively thinking the Terrain would perform similarly to the old models my Seniors pals are still using after 10 years. The reality is Powakaddy now own Hill Billy and production of trolleys has moved to China from the UK. Is the golf trolley market too small... (read more)

Simply a waste of money. Myself and my son bought one each 2 years ago and we also had problems with rivets the strange pins they put through the Axel fall out problems with the battery etc. My sons started to make a noise we think it was the motor it has since given up the ghost mine has now started to make the same noise. Once it packs in its going on the scrap heap. Does anyone out there make a reliable trolly? (read more)

The 'Axle' pins are in fact things called ROLL pins and are in common usage on most trolleys. I have replaced them on other trollies with solid pins and on my All Terrain (after 18 months usage)with a stronger british made Roll pin. Hillbilly certainly didn't seem interested in helping me sourcing replacements, but of course it is difficult to get to speak to a 'decision maker' I have had much better service from distributors of imported chinese 'cheap and cheerfuls'

The ‘barrel split pins’ you refer to are in fact ‘Roll Pins’ used by most trolley manufacturers, and both mine rusted and broke up after 18 months of use. The Hillbilly ‘Help’ desk suggested I contact one of their approved repair centres! What for 3 Roll pins? I ordered British made replacements for a small cost and replaced them myself – I had previously replaced them on a cheap imported Chinese model, and the service I received from the Importer was much superior to Hill Billy

I bought my new hillbilly all terain less than one year ago and it has been nothing but trouble. First the rivets sheared on the A frame so I couldnt use it for a week. Next the battery failed, again another week until a replacement arrived and now the dam thing won't stop, park next to the green ready for the winning putt and its away across the fairway. Chuffing great, just what I need. Back to the workshop yet again. I am pig sick of it. I have just e-mailed Hillbilly to say I want a... (read more)

I have had a Hillbilly terrain for just over 2 years and its been 1 problem after another.
Had to replace clutch, gearbox, control unit, wheel broke, axle pins fell out twice and 2nd battery recently failed. Mud constantly clogs up front wheel so you are forever having to tip trolley up during a round to clear it out during winter rounds.
Just bought a motocaddy s3. its so much superior in every way. Spend the extra £100, the hillbilly will mug you of this amount in repair bills within 2...

The Motor caddy S3 suffers from the same serious fault as the Power Bug ‘Digital’? Models. The on/off Digital switch is way Too sensitive and is situated in a dangerous position on top of the handle and on both these machines I have had experiences
of them being suddenly set off by accident and nearly causing injury to fellow golfers. Very poor and dangerous design

I have had my "All Terrain" trolley for 18 months,it is quite clearly poorly named,it just does not cope with wet muddy conditions, the single front wheel assembly clogs up at least three times a round, necessitating the trolley being tipped up and the mud cleared out,not condusive to a good game of golf. I have had it modified locally into a two wheel assembly at a cost of £35. Also find it heavy to lift and put into car. (read more)

I purchased a Hill Billy New Terrain recently second hand and now fully understand why the seller wanted to get rid of it. They look good but on very close inspection the pop rivets holding the frame are badly put in. I have replaced two. Since getting the trolley the printed circuit controller card has had a condenser fall off which allowed excess amps to the motor and virtually burnt out the motor brush housing. The printed circuit board (Controller) has been badly manufactured and if you... (read more)

I have recently bought a hillbilly terrian and my first impressions are good. its when made and i like the chunky feel of it. i personally dont think that it is that heavy but this is my first electric trolley and dont have anything to compare it with. the speed settings are fine for me and often find it dragging me up a hill or too and the 10,20, 30 yard buttons are great! hopefully i will be reporting back in months to come on how good my hillbilly is...........fingers crossed :) (read more)

I have had one for 18 months. I am male and just turned 60, but fit and reasonably strong. I find it is far too heavy and cumbersome compared to my wife's GO-Kart for example. The battery weighs a ton. The rivets in the spine sheared off recently inexplicably - bit of a design fault I think. Plus point- automatic run for 10,20 or 40ish metres buttons. Verdict: Just about good enough to keep for the time being.
Check the overall weight before buying - not suitable for women.

Bought a terrain model last July. Worked ok for a few months then the control wheel started to play up - motor wouldn't go. The local Hillbilly agent replaced the potentometer under warranty and it has been ok since. The trolley is a bit heavy and I think the motor is underpowered. I bought it because my previous trolley was an imported cheap one [only half the price] which gave a lot of trouble. However, it was lighter and easier to handle than the Hillbilly. I have had this hillbilly for 3 years. Once or twice a year it dies while I am playing and needs a part replaced. Pushing it back to the car without the motor on a hilly course is awkward. It is great when it works except down a steep hill. That was a lot easier with the old model where you could just take it down the hill in the pull position. Service is prompt.
The fear of having it die while playing is leading me to consider something else.

Looking at all the Pro's & Con's of buying an Electric Golf Trolley - PowaKaddy or HillBilly or other makes at lower prices- the main difference is the frame contruction/motor? Having looked at the various comments- The HillBilly Terrain has come out at the best value. My Golf club pro says, they are all good- some last longer than others, before a fault is found.

This is my second Hill Billy, first one being a Hi Lite which I have had for 7 years. This is a definite improvement over the old model. Had the Terrain now for 4 months (during a wet and muddy English summer) and found it has overcome all sticky obstacles, clearly where it got it's name from. Nice looking compared to other trolleys on the course and supported my game, as it should. And great to buy British, unlike some of the other electric trolleys out there. (read more)

What you can do mate is have them under the Sale of goods act 1979,werein it states that goods should be fit for purpose, and should last a reasonable time etc, etc. It does not matter if the warranty is out of date.Threaten to take them to court them to court. If they see you mean it THEY WILL REPLACE THE FAULTY PRODUCT.
Under the Sale of goods act 1979 you are entitled to a replacement, repair or your money back.
These companies will not like bad publcity because it will bring there shoddy goods into the limelight.
I personally am sick and tired of buying golf batteries that only last days after the warranty runs out. and at times fail before the warranty expires.
These products appear to be made of substandard materials, proberbly on purpose.
