Good Points: Big, but not large Middle seat, is a proper seat!
Bad Points: None.
General comments: About three or four years ago, after a while looking for cars, we turned our eyes, from the Toyota Avensis to the Citroen Xsara Picasso and it immediately struck us as a good car.
It was large but still not large enough for high tax, the middle seat in the rear was an actual seat(!) and finally, the fact that it was a diesel.
This large car offers plenty of legroom, a good seat pitch and great storage.
It's a good car! - Get it!

In five months my Citroen Xsara Picasso spent 7 days in the garage for major faults. The handling is appalling, the trim is dire, the seats not fit for humans, the brakes are weak, it is like driving a Comma van of the 1970s. I have never been more disappointed in a vehicle. Why did I buy one then? I really do not know, I can only suggest that any prospective buyers should be aware that they are not buying a vehicle of quality, such as with the many Far Eastern marques. Do not look at the outsid ...

By far the cheapest, daftest-looking, economical and flexible car we've ever bought. Computerised instrumentation is excellent and 'van-type' driving position very helpful. Roadholding is much better than expected and always feels secure, though steering is a bit vague and imprecise. Offers tons for the money, though, and ours has been fairly reliable and servicing acceptable. We're buying another shortly for less than we paid first time around and going for the Exclusive this time.

Bought my Citroen Xsara Picasso new, cannot fault the service I have had from dealers, initially I thought I had bought an old mans car, but, I hold my hand up I was wrong, I would get another.

Boy do I feel privileged to own a Citroen Xsara Picasso!
Apparently the dash panel display software has failed - the replacement of which was the bargain price of £650; coming with 1 years warranty, a smile, and a steep learning curve for the owner.
How I wish I'd been more persistent with my complaints about the rattle/buzzing noise coming from my dash when it was still under warranty. Now Customer Services don't seem to care!

I have had my 1.8 Citroen Xsara Picasso SX petrol from new (2003), and have been pleased with it. I am thinking of changing to the 2.0 HDI 90 in May and I would be grateful for your views/opinions.

Citroen Xsara Picasso SX 2.0 HDi - Generally good vehicle. Why Citroen only used the 90hp hdi engine when there was an 110bhp version avaliable is strange. I owned a Santia hdi 2.0ltr 90bhp and that was fine, but the Picasso is a much weightier car and I feel that sometimes, especially when overtaking, it feels like a uphill struggle. Also why Citroen put pictures of coke bottles over the door bins is funny? I am overall very pleased with the Picasso. No big faults so far and will be changing ...

I previously had a Citroen Xsara estate 2.0 HDI and chose the Picasso SX People Carrier because it is far more roomy and is even more practical. Although it hasnt got the performance of the estate it has enough go and you have to bear in mind that the same engine in the Picasso is pulling a bit more weight. It is an excellent family car with loads of storage space, my daughter loves the drop down shelves in the back. When the back seats are taken out it is easy to transport big items such as dou ...

Feel very disheartened with the Citroen Xsara Picasso SX 2.0 HDi People Carrier. When you buy a car af 2 years old, only having it yourself a few months, and after spending all that money you want something that works!

I got a good deal from my local citoren dealer and have summarised what i think of the Citroen Xsara Picasso SX 2.0 HDi people carrier in the good points. We bought the car for space. I was worried about its size and turning circles etc. buts its just like any other car - you just get used to it. One can't see the front of the car though but its easy to judge.

This Citroen Xsara Picasso SX 2.0 HDi People Carrier is the best car I have every owned after many cars including Mercedes the comfort far exceeds any car I have ever sat in and to seat 5 adults in comfort is a major factor to me combined with space and economy and price unbeatable, its a wonder every car on the road is not a Picasso.

Bought my Citroen Xsara Picasso SX 2.0 HDi people carrier new in Nov 2001. Extras included climate control and alloys. No problems to date 32,000 miles. Returns average of 49 mpg, cruises at 70+ on M-Way. Although only 90BHP if driven correctly is no slouch.
A great car for little money, all passsengers comment on the space inside and the high up poistion gives great view of traffic ahead.

having had a c5 i now have a Citroen Xsara Picasso SX 2.0 HDi people carrier, they are brilliant cars - I will only buy citroen nowadays - value for money safety and comfort are my priorities. As i suffer from chronic back problems i must have comfortable supportive seating and a smooth ride which i get driving citroen cars - Maybe i could get all this with a bentley but the trouble is I cant afford one, for the money you just cannot buy better than a citroen.

The first thing to go wrong was ten seconds after I got into my Citroen Xsara Picasso SX 2.0 HDi. I adjusted the internal rear view mirror and it fell off.
The controls are poorly thought out and inconsistently positioned and indicated. For example, the electric window controls for the two front window are on the centre console and have the more or less universal window symbol on them. Those for the rear windows are on the right hand side next to the headlamp beam levelling switch, and ...

I have had my Citroen Xsara Picasso SX 2.0 HDi for almost a week now, It's done nearly 1000 miles with me behind the wheel. It's a second hand (2001) model. So far I love it. The boot is enormous.
I'll update this review later if I fall out with it!

The Citroen Xsara Picasso SX 2.0 HDi is a cheap car but very nasty buyer beware!!
Air Bag light kept coming on even after being to the dealer several times (service was appalling). Engine warning light kept coming on and reverse sensors failed to work properely. Again I felt like i'd been smacked across the face with a wet kipper by the lack of customer service and attitude of Citroen dealer. Currently engine seems to be dying even though it only 2 years old.

This is one of the nicest and best loved family cars I have owned. The whole family simply loves it. Our previous cars have included a Mercedes C180 and a Ford Mondeo.
It trounces all competition as a family transporter and is even enjoyable to drive. Unlike the Scenic and all the others it offer 3 full size adult rear sets and bags of legroom. Citroen just need to improve the front seat support and tighten up the handling.
