garmin nuvi 310 is easy to use, trip computer, bluetooth, mp3 player. Good battery life (about 4 to 4.5 hours with bluetooth on.)
Excellent unit. Includes traffic info when service subscribed to. Simple to use and effective in navigating streets either quickest or shortest.

I highly recommend Garmin Nuvi 310 for everybody who wants a high quality SatNav.

I found the Garmin nuvi 310 device great if you only want to use the preloaded maps.

I spent four hours one day trying to download europe maps from the disc supplied, only to be told every time it started to transfer data to the sat nav that there was a fault. After spending another hour searching the internet I found this is a common fault. As I was driving to Germany the next day I went out and bought a sat nav with europe already installed.

I agree that the thing takes you down some tiny lanes, which can be fun, sometimes! The biggest problem I had was not with the unit but with garmin, the free camera trial never worked, but I subscribed to a company called pocketgps for £19 a year.
I have had this unit for about 2 yrs I drive all over the north of england and scotland doing about 40-50,000 miles a year it has never let me down - set a postcode, get it to find nearest carpark to destination and off I go. Get there park up s ...

The Garmin Nuvi is really easy and intuitive to operate and I think better than the TomTom.
I much prefer the operation of the Garmin to the TomTom but.... TomTom offer much cheaper maps & updates with great discounts.

After only 18 months of little use, and no sympathy from Garmin. I suggest you by a TomTom. The day before we left Canada it couldn't find a satellite signal and has not been able to find one since. On phoning Garmin the best advice was to have a repair/swap at a cost of £101.00.

The Garmin Nuvi 310 gets you there but not by the best roads. The hands free speaker is tinny. But everything else is good. Hands free hard to hear the other person - speaker is poor. Whether you in put motorcycle - bus -truck or car the darn thing takes you up single dirt track roads with grass growing down the centre. It does not seem to prioritize the roads e.g. Motor ways then dual carriage ways then A roads etc. It just seem that any roads will do no matter what you are driving.

After having had a Tom Tom Go 300 there are advantages and disadvantages of owning the Garmin Nuvi 310 D. Basically some things are easier than before to do and some things are harder. As this is a matter of personal taste I shall go no further. Overall I am happier with this unit as I feel more at ease with it, though both units are good.

There are a couple of minor irritations with the Garmin Nuvi 310 - like having no on-screen view of the direction of the next turn. Garmin Sat Navs are virtually alone in not having this facility.
There is one very serious problem with this device, however, and that is that very very frequently, outside of urban areas, the final voice prompt of 'Turn Left' or 'Turn Right' is given too early at 0.2 miles prior to the required junction - and often when there is another, unwanted junction, between ...

I bought the unit for 3 reasons - Speed camera alerts, Traffic alerts & European & UK mapping. Within 6 weeks of purchase my first unit just stopped altogther..... After a heated argument with Halfords 'we can't refund your money you're past the 28 day return rule' - they offered me a replacement.
This time after 2 weeks, the Speed camera alerts disappeared... The Traffic alerts & European & UK mapping never worked.
Another word of warning - When purchasing the unit I was totally unaware I'd ...

This is a great piece of kit. I would recommend it to anyone. My only gripe is that it doesn't show you the direction of the next turn like a TomTom does.

Garmin nuvi 310 Probably the best Gizmo' I've ever had, great for work and play and great ease of use, Updates for maps could be more frequent but it will have to do for now.

Took back my Navman F20 due to system errors and exchanged it for the Garmin n vi 310 on a clearance offer at Halfords, and the young lad knocked off a further few quid for a bit of sticky on the back which took all of a minute to remove. Was impressed with what was in the box, as you mostly every thing you need, even a leather pouch. The street level mapping is very detailed and clear. There are also plenty of downloads online, so you can still play with it when you get home. The trick to getti ...

My Garmin nuvi 310 was supplied and fitted by Halfords, the unit worked fine most of the time. It saved me 20 miles and some heavy traffic around Towcester and Milton Keynes, but it led me a merry dance from Banstead to Weybridge, a route I knew well. The killer problem was that I couldn't download the safety (sic) camera info. Several exchanges of email with Garmin eventually elicited an admission that there was a compatibility problem with the MS XP Pro operating system and there was no fix. H ...

Purchased Garmin Nuvi 310D 4 months ago and it's very handy when not in use, for carrying around. It's very quick at detecting route and POI loader great for storing positions. I loaded camera detector and it works very well, only came across one location not listed. TMC is quick to locate traffic and has been valuable on 2 occasions for avoiding traffic jams.

Would recommend for ease of use and very portable. Excellent product, very good value for money!

I bought the Garmin n vi 310 at the end of May, and like a previous review was pleasantly surprised with its speed at finding signals. That and the natty design and cradle was super. HOWEVER, thats where it all goes, I received a message to update the bluetooth firmware, so off I went and search the internet until I found this third party supplier (Not Garmin).
So I updated the firmware, which as they said would eliminate the message and stop it from needing a reset every time I started it. ...

What a wonderful machine for the first two weeks the Garmin nuvi 310 was! I bought it the end July and loved it, updated software, downloaded POI. I thought it an excellent choice. The first week in August mid-journey loses sat signal, then won't acquire. Spent a day on phone to Gramin - do hard reset but no joy, so exchanged for a new one. Works great for ONE journey, then dies completely. This time I get a refund. It's a shame because nothing touches it for style and content.

The Garmin Nuvi 310 is a nice compact unit with good battery life so can be used on foot, bicycle etc. Very quick to find out where it is and start navigating. Cool integration of POI with telephone numbers so you can call them via the Blutooth handsfree telephone capability. Traffic management option seems to work well but I have not yet had the opportunity to test this for real. It also has exrtra gimmicks such as MP3 player and JPEG viewer which are nice but don't add much functionality. This ...
