Good Points: A great base for staying in San Francisco.
Bad Points: Pretty average hotel with no bar, but you are only ever there to sleep, so that doesn't matter.
General comments: You would only ever use the Fisherman's Wharf Radisson hotel as a base for exploring the wharf area of San Francisco, and it's spot on for that. It's about 30 seconds to the wharf, the sea lions, the view (and boat) to Alcatraz, the piers and the fishermen etc. It is only a 15 minute stroll up to the tram terminus and the Buena Vista bar, in which I urge you all to spend as many hours as you have available (try the Irish coffee).
The service at the hotel isn't brilliant, nor is the outdated decor. The lifts have seen better days, and it's a bit on the small side (space is a premium commodity in SF), but it is clean, tidy, safe and the beds are perfectly reasonable. It's also relatively inexpensive for a Radisson, though that's perhaps because it is by no means on a par with their best, ie. don't expect to get the same standard as, say, Stockholm. But, you'll all be too busy re-enacting your favourite SF based movie to worry about the average hotel you are in.
