    Good Points: Super super super cheap look and feel.


    Bad Points: Almost everything else: features, battery life (especially so considering it's solid state), and the memory expansion SD card that doesn't even sit flush with the body.


    General comments: Akai 256MB SD Audio Player - After having my iPod stolen in a burglary I've been given this gem for free. What can I say. Terrible. Unusable. Frustrating. Cheap (i.e. of poor quality and design). It's not digital music player snobbery - this player is so weak and featureless as to make it a chore to use. No search!? A practical joke on us all.

    The player looks good, it is white with Red markings although it feels a bit cheap. It comes with white headphones and a white USB lead. There is no charger as this runs off a standard AAA battery. It is about the same size as a modern iPod, maybe a little smaller. It's very light.

    It comes with 256MB built in memory, but the real advantage of this is the ability to plug in SD cards. Using an appropriate sized SD card you could store up to a few hundred songs.
