Good Points: I have the Clear WiMAX product in Portland Oregon. Prior to this I used the Sprint aircard, Verizon's USB Aircard and even Cricket's wireless card (proudly called broadband) There is simply no comparison between the WiMAX product and any of the 3 competitors I have substantial experience with. The service set it self up ... its as fast as the Comcast Cable Broadband I had at home and it's cheaper (I save about 20-25 a month) hey just added digital voice for $25.00 a month and we are anxiously waiting to receive our hardware in the mal anyday. I have clocked the service at speeds up to 9.5 Mgbps and get at least the promised 6gbps at home and all 4 of the Mgbps using the USB Dongle
Bad Points: None so far...easy to use ...faster than anything else on the market by a least 4-6X and cheaper than any of them as well. For the firs time I have nothing to bitch about ... sitting on the MAX light rail service here with my laptop and being online with speed like that makes you not want to get off the train
General comments: I have nothing but great things to say about this product. I jumped onboard the first day it was offered to the general public and the salesperson I dealt with activated me on the spot ... handed me my activated hardware and when I got it home I took it out of the box ...plugged the CAT5 cable into both the Modem and my Desktop and plugged in the power into the wall. Fired up my box and without installing one driver or one application ..nothing! I was instantly online and flying around with my hair on fire. The Moble USB Dongle required me to plop in a CD and run it to install the proper drivers etc. then I clicked on "connect" and 2 seconds later I was online and and going nice and fast ...tested the speed right away and was over the promised spec. in fact I have yet to fall under the promised spec at home ... so often (like w/ 3G technology) 3G never really seemed to mean 3G's ...well I am happy to report that 4G technology has never not been at least 4G's and is often times wa more.
