Booking successfull and without incident however not requested to show all documents staed on booking voucher to be required. Also told on voucher that debit card not acceptable but accepted by rental company (Avis). This was my first experience of using Carrentals and I found the website easy to navigate. Although I have independent damage waiver insurance I was impressed that this was offered so prominently and for a reasonable price. It is very worthwhile having this extra cover as it can save a lot of worry and hassle. I chose Carrentals as the provider and this was placed with Europcar's city office in Glasgow. They were very professional to deal with and I was very pleased with the car. (read more)

AVERAGE PRICE AND YOU GETS WHAT YOU PAY FOR, SO BE WARNED. COLLECTED THE CAR FROM ORLANDO RENTALS FUEVENTURA ON A 5 DAY HIRE. RECEPTION SERVICE GOOD. NEVER REQUIRED THE EXCESS DAMAGE WAIVER THOUGH, THE CAR HAD A MARK/DENT ON NEAR EVEY PANEL INSIDE AND OUT. Very easy to use the website. Great prices. The only downside I found was that when paying, the car hire charges went through but the insurance didn't as a message said that the card was declined. How can this be when I am paying the total amount for both. I found this quite difficult to understand. The other problem I had was that the number to call to sort out the insurance started with 0871. I was not very happy when I found out how much it would cost me to ring this number from USA. Easy booking, good website, reception OK, didn't like the large deposit actually taken from my credit card and don't know yet if it has been returned. Normally just an imprint of my card is all that is required. Car was OK but high mileage and a bit battered, but it went fine and did the job. Returning car was simple and we were not kept waiting. All in all a good experience and will use again ( have used several times already) perhaps a better car next time!! (read more)

In general everyhing was particulary easy and quick. There is a very good mention of what is covered and what is not and in the final step it comes a highlighted window offering a insurance to avoid next problems in cause of an accident. I accessed this site via my smartphone. It was very straightforward to use and quick. The only thing I didn't like was the continual pop ups for the additional excess insurance -ie did I want any. I've used this service before with no hitches. However, the excess insurance is much cheaper by dealing direct with the approved company itself (Questor) - not too sure I understand this! The hire company I've been booked with is Hertz, who've caused me upsets in the past, but I've no choice in the matter even though I said I wouldn't deal with them again. I booked a 6 seater and was very happy with the Nissan model provided. There was plenty of room for our group and luggage. The Firefly counter was also quicker than other companies. Car was also fuel efficient - good mileage. The only negative was that having bought insurance when booking we were presented with insurance offer by Firefly that we felt obliged to take as our excess payments were very high. Easy to find, easy to use, well explained as you proceed. Best prices on offer and good advice. Follow up was quick and accurate, I have never had a better system to use in arranging car hire abroad. As with all car hire, the additional insurance is always pushed, but there are chaeper and more comprehensive insurances on offer through other means that give excellent cover on all additional risks, when hiring a car. Unlike some sites, the fact I live in Europe yet still also bank in the UK was no problem and I could choose which currency to use. I have come to accept that all car hire quotes are given without the excess option so didn't particularly find having to add this later a major problem although a caution about this extra fee would be welcomed on the home page. There were clear instructions where to pick up the shuttle bus to depot. Staff were very friendly and the car was brand new. No long queues as there were plenty of staff to attend to customers. Maps supplied and clear instruction for return. Only negative for us was policy of full to empty as we returned car just below half way despite touring about! (read more)
