Good Points: The staff are helpful and friendly, you have an allocated personal trainer who tests heart rate and measures your upper thigh, hips etc. It is cheap, there are no off/on peak times so you can go whenever you want to. You have a choice of which gym to use mixed/female only, sauna/steam room.

Bad Points: The downsides are that it isn't air conditioned and can smell a bit sweaty at peak times! Although the equipment is in working order, the gym itself (windows etc) is a bit shabby. If you're looking for a workout though and couldn't care less about the interior then I'd recommend but I miss the showers! You need to borrow a padlock from reception and they seem to always be running low.

General comments: I have never joined a gym before so was quite excited when me and my friend and I arrived at Montys Fitness Club in Manchester. I was delighted at how cheap it was for a months membership and felt at ease with the friendly staff. The gym itself is good as it has a female only and a mixed sex gym. All classes are included in membership and it has a steam room and sauna room in the ladies changing room. The gym equipment although no way near shiny new, is in good working order and there are many different types of machines, hand held weights etc. It is quite large (bigger than that of Sashas) and it never seems to be so busy you're left waiting to use a machine a long time.
