  Would I recommend it to a friend? Absolutely!
  
  I have tried various free anti virus softwares before and I consider Avira one of the best I have used.
  I was a little skeptical when someone referred this antivirus before since I never heard of it. Boy I was wrong, it truly has good performance and the quality of its scan is great.

  this is my favourite free antivirus outhere, it can even surpass its paid counterparts, a true wonderful product that is absolutely free,i like everything about this software right from the design to the use of system resources, it uses less resources, and antivirus database is properly up to date , must download and use one

  I find that Avira AntiVirus have certainly outdone a lot of the AntiViruses already exisitng in the Market. Personally I use their completely free version but what I want to say is exactly what I like about Avira.
  
  Firstly I like it because it is Free, then because it works like a dream and finally it's unobtrusive nor does it seem to cause a decrease in perfromance.
  
  Using Avira in my opinion is a smart move. Compared with othter free anti-virus software there aren't many which can say they are ...

  avira antivir antivirus catches more virus/trojans than other popular free AV progs.
  
  Very easy to setup, does not require subsequent "tweeking".
  
  Works straight out the box, updates itself.
  
  Integrates with Windows Security.
  
  Dont forget to switch Windows Firewall OFF once Avira is installed.

  Avira AntiVir Antivirus is the best free antivirus I have ever came across. Extremely good heuristics scans the removable media as soon as it is inserted into your comp. Daily updates helps your pc to stay protected from new threats.

  I have been using Avira on 3 PCs (2 Premium, 1 free version) for 4 or 5 years now and with the exception of the PC that has the free version, it has caught every virus/worm/trojan that has attempted an invasion. The only one that the free version didn't find was the "Windows XP Antivirus" that was around back in 2008.

  Avira AntiVir Antivirus is very good in detecting Trojan viruses... which BTW Eset nod 32 failed to detect. It has the highest heuristics compared to other anti virus.

  Avira AntiVir Antivirus is free or so you may think so. Free always comes at a cost.
  
  Waste of time. Tracks your every move and sends that information. More like a tracker to where you travel and what you do. Big brothers watching

  Avira AntiVir Antivirus One of the best antivirus, i have been using for 5 years,if your careful enough to click on trojan popups .
  Very good defender, light weight, best thing is its FREE, Can not clean 100% PC which already infected, slow when it comes to full scan.

  Avira 9 is a highly rated anti virus program, light on resources and well popular... I had problems but not with the software.Note: the free version doesn't scan Emails.

  i have purchased Avira AntiVir Antivirus and on my second computer it was giving some error and i am emailing them since then and they have poor customer support. never ever return to my all of the emails.

  At the beginning im very satisfied with Avira antivirus...free, fast and easy to use. But 3 month ago, my avira began to detect my software (.exe) as a virus, and many of my software dont run anymore. Some of my friend here experience same problem. I think because of its heuristic diagnostic that give false scan. Unfortunately, i cannt uninstall this product cleanly, i must open my regedit to clean my system. Hope this will fixed soon....
