The Sky service is terrible, speeds past 4 oclock will always drop down to around 0.2mb without doubt. The download limits are terrible, where if you download more than 1.3gb a day (which is very easily done) you get your speeds capped so that your looking at around the 0.2mb mark all throughout the day and might as well give up during the evening.
If one of my mates told me that they were switching to sky boradband, I would presonally beat them until they change there mind.
Do not ever switch to sky even if you are threatened by gunpoint, in the long run death will be a lot less painfull.

I'm subscribed to the Unlimited/Max package and get at very, very best just under 8mbps and that's between 11pm and probably about 11am. From that time onwards it steadily declines until 6pm when it hits rock bottom and speeds of around 50kbps (download). My old BT dial-up was faster and more constant than this 10 years ago! I can't see the point in this ridiculous fluctuation of speeds and it is a wonder Sky have any customers at all.

The UK government needs to take a leaf out of some other co ...

Was conned into taking broadband with Sky. Moved from a previous address and before i moved was told that the package would be the same price as my exisiting tarrif. Moved house, had a sky dish installed, called up to arrange for my broadband to be set up and was told that the cheaper package wasnt available and it had doubled in price. Told them i didnt want it and they said that I was in a contract and had to have it!! Speed it slower than dial up, on many occasions through out the year it ...

People often only rate something when it is bad and do not bother when it is good. Had free broadband with satelite package up to 2 meg very nearly hits this speed at all times. Could not be more pleased does what it says on the tin !!! Also my daughter has it in london the £10 package again like lightning. Some people would not be pleased if it came gold plated just stop blubbing into your keyboards and wake up!!!!!

I signed up with sky broadband 6 months ago and have found it to be the worst connection imaginable. At least 6 times a day will I lose connection. On finally getting through to the ever so helpful (NOT) customer services I was told that when it happens 'turn the router off, unplug from the mains and leave for 5 minutes'. Oh great when you're in the middle of something!
After becoming increasingly frustrated to say the least I telephoned Sky to inform them that I wished to cancel my contract as ...

At this moment in time I have a 2mb Connection from sky. All I can say to this is that you do NOT get 2mb and a speed test proved that I was getting a maximum speed of 600kb/s ... I would rather have bloody dial up!

Customer service? Is there such a thing with sky? I have rang them up several times about the sluggish connection and was told "It will be resolved as soon as possible", its been more than 5 months since I heard that.

If you are looking for a connection which you woulld use for com ...

I would have given value for money 4 stars if it actually provided me with the speeds I was paying for, but I was paying for 0.5mb broadband that cut out 4-5 times a day!! Should have listened to my friend who warned me about sky!! In the process of terminating the contract now! Use AOL or Virgin!!

THE WORST, but I mean THE WORST provider I have ever experienced. We moved in to our house at the beginning of August, ordered a phone line and broadband on 10th August. It is today the 14th October and we are still without a phone line or broadband. They have an internal IT glitch which they cannot sort out apparently. Customer services are dreadful. If you manage to get through to someone who speaks english it is a blessing, but once there they tell you that they cannot update us on what the p ...

    Sky out-performs BT broadband

Moved from BT Total Broadband to Sky Unlimted. My Speed with BT was up to 8meg but I never reached this level. In the evenings and weekend the speed dropped to 4meg.

Changed to Sky my speed is 18.5meg I am over the moon...... better speeds, saved money.... Only £10.00 per month as I have the sky package. The speed stays the same in the weekends and evenings.... I have had cable and BT over the past ten years , Sky is teh best out of the three for money a ...

I've had Sky broadband connect now for 2 months at £5 per month, inc evening/weekend calls with Sky talk, way better than BT...everything is great. Speed and reliability excellent and very reasonable on cost.

This should be fun for me then. After having a spat with BT over our 1/4ly phone bill (our calls cost less than a tenner a 1/4 yet they wanted £66/month direct debit for broadband rental + 'call cost')we upgraded our Sky to HD+ box package calls + broadband actually saving us money.
BT took 3 weeks to get a mac code to us, only after a snotty response email did they give us one then promptly cut our broadband service the next day. It took me 3 days to get reconnected which was galling esp ...

Sky Broadband is absolutely dire. After having to wait over a week for somebody to come out and basically fiddle with the phone sockets for ten minutes, the router arrived. The set up, admittedly was painless and quick, the CD provided walked me through it and I was set up wirelessly in less than 10 minutes. What came as a pleasant surprise was the fact they gave you a free wireless router (Virgin Media had us buy our own).

Then, the problems began. The range on the router is beyond terrible, ...

Changed from BT 2 weeks ago... Now, I have Sky Broadband...

I have never had such pathetic reliability from an ISP...

Today, so far, it has disconnected 8 times.... It's only 5pm...

Thank god for the cooling off period... Cancelling this site

Don't get it. Took them two weeks to switch our phone line on, and we were also told that they'd send a router. No router came, so we called them about it, and apparently they hadn't even sent one yet. They said it'd be here within 4 to 14 days, and that we'd also have to wait for something else.
We then found out that we'd only get up 512mbps, not 2mb like they'd said, so don't go with Sky, they're terrible, and I'm thinking of calling them again. We just switched from BT, which was horrible in ...
