I have had Sky Broadband for many years and I am now going to leave. The connection I get is unreliable and slow. It was better but every few months the speed mysteriously drops. I change nothing on my side but Sky always claim it is my equipment that is the issue. It takes ages to get through to anyone helpful at Sky. Last time I had an issue, it took 20 phone calls and 2 different BT engineers to improve my connection. 3 months later I am getting speed and connectivity problems again. Sky... (read more)

Not happy with Sky Broadband. We are moving home and I was told that as soon as the Sky broadband disconnects at our old house, I must call Sky again to reorder broadband for the new house. Sky broadband was cut off a week before our move. I arranged for the new phone line to be activated the next day at the new house which it did. So I contacted Sky to order the new broadband but then they advised me that I can only contact them again in a weeks time to order and it will take another 2... (read more)

We took out Sky broadband with free weekend calls in September last year. For the first month or so we did not encounter problems, however ever since then we have had internet cutting out frequently at random times, and the phone line not working for days on end. The phone line produces no dial tone, and since we receive no mobile signal in the house, this is very problematic, and we are missing out on free calls. When we inform Sky, they tell us it will be fixed within 72hrs, but this... (read more)

ur broadband comes down the same line no matter who ur with, sky were the first to offer truely unlimited bb and also dont traffic manage, if ur broadband was pants, it was probably because u were on the wrong wireless channel or you refused to go through a very simple troubleshooting procedure to find out the problem, meaning you, the customer was most likely total pants

Sky have been faultless. When moving into our new flat, we discussed with many people which provider to pick having had issues with each of the main rivals on the market. We chose Sky through a friends recommendation and within one week they were around! Booking and registering was easy with the help of 'Sky Chat' where the staff message you through the process, we were sent the router within 3 days and also received reminders about the set-up before they arrived and the day before. Where do I start? Having been a Virgin broadband customer for years, we thought we would go to Sky because their TV is brilliant. Anyway we got coaxed into getting a full package because we could get 'Sky Go' for free -- what they failed to tell us, you can only get it on 'IOS' and 'Android' or laptop (all our family have Windows Phones)....!!!! Right, so we get their broadband (unlimited), which is part of the package. Everything was fine for the first 2 months, then it all went downhill.... (read more)

deary me, what silly advisor u must have had, u clearly have an intermittent connection, assuming your internet light goes off or amber when it drops, it is a very simple ts procedure.
try router in master socket with all other equipment from other sockets removed and using no extension cables and monitor - possible faulty extension socket or filter.
if that does not solve, get in ur test socket if u have one and monitor, possible faulty faceplate, sky can replace this.
still not solved, try another filter.
if this doesn't do it then sky will probably replace router and if this doesnt do it then they will send BT Openreach around to look at ur line
its that simple, it really is, intermittent connections are usually equipment problems. oh, the new sky hub is a very good router so they listened

I will get straight to the point and keep it simple; Sky is the worst Internet 'service provider' out there. I didn't think it was possible for any ISP to be worse than Virgin Media was, but wow I've been proven wrong. I swear if I find out where the servers are located I will blow them up into oblivion and urinate on the shattered remains because that's what you deserve. It's impossible to do anything during peak hours because the internet completely dies every half hour or so, so much for... (read more)

im assuming ur connecting wirelessly as if ur speed was dropping via ethernet during evening then u would be smart and call sky tech and they would treat as a throughput issue and would be escalated or it would be a line or equipment fault (unlikely).
so, its very very simple, change ur wireless channel, make sure ur router aint got no electrical interference around it and possibly change to 54g performance on the mode.
sky do not traffic manage their broadband, so it is either wireless issue (most likely) or throughput.
ring up and sort it out and stop complaining

Just awful. My family were told that our Internet speed would be 10meg. So we got it and its been a month now and it's only 2.6. Its terribly slow and pretty much unusable. We phoned to ask why we were promised 10 but only recieving 2.6, the man who took our call said 'if you pay an extra £20 a month we will speed it up'. Of course we were livid because we were lied too and now being told that we can have faster Internet but only if we pay extra. Will be using BT as soon as this contract is... (read more)

this comment is completely false, it is not in any ISP's interest to slow speeds, it does not cost them anymore money.
call sky tech support and they will tell u what ur minimum and estimate speeds are from ur exchange, they MUST provide u with minimum otherwise it is a technical fault.
NO advisor would have told this customer what he just said, otherwise, this would be a mis-sell and would lead to disciplinary measures. he may have mis-understood the advisor who told them that fibre is available for £20 a month.

Day 10 nothing as changed same rubbish service no repairs to my broadband. How can sky think this is acceptable. They should be ashamred of how i have been treated as a customer.Come the end of our contract let them even try to keep us as customers.Sky's slogan is "believe in better" - well I did believe in better and all I got was rubbish broadband and abysmal customer service.I have just checked my emails 5 emails sent to sky and 1 reply i suppose they think not bad for £65 a month. The service is getting worse not suprising when you give your advisors scripts and no productive way of dealing with a customers complaint. The service is simply terrible they care when you first sign up and when you want to leave.I will post everyday until someone does something usefull not scripted and gets my broadband fixed.I can truly say that every time i contact sky by phone i get the exact script read to me everytime.I had a stroke a year ago, and still they say unplug this turn off this try a new micro filter.Same rubbish no fix.Sky you cannot fix my problem i need bt openreach engineer like last time i had similar problem and bt fixed it.Stop treating your customers so badly we are fed up.

often these problems are caused by unwilling or disrespectful costomers, if their is a fault on the line affecting broadband and talk, ultimately it is openreach who will fix it and they can be slow to do this if dig work is needed.
