Good Points: Cancelations team, do a lot more than just cancellations, they can get a support team on your side

Bad Points: The tech support service read from a checkcard going over the same points, with a temporary fix PLUS they dont have the ability to transfer your calls to customer support, so you have to make 5 or 6 calls.

General comments: As many others here have said, Orange Broadband's technical support team read from a checkcard, they are useless. If you want to get answers and action done on your request folliow these simple rules.

    1. Doint call the tech support team call this number instead. 0844 8738586. broadband option, go for option 4 "Your thinking of leaving Orange" Be polite, youll get a lot further.

    2. Give them what they require i.e name, password etc

    3. Ask to speak to a manager, as your issue isnt being resolved.

    4. Explain the situation etc, youll be surprised at the result

I got new filters, a new router and 4 months FREE broadband, by keeping my cool.

Had Orange broadband for just over 18mnths and being perfectly honest it is the worst experience as a consumer i have ever had. All worked fine whilst we were on the lowest package but problems arose the minute we upgraded to an Orange livebox.I would log on,use the internet for 1-2hrs and then after that time if i was veiwing one page and wanted to look for another id get "canot display the web page",this came about because after a couple of hours use the live box would crash and disconect. W ...

I was with Freeserve from 2000 until Orange took over the company. Orange made me change to broadband - I did not ask to change. I have has 18 months of hell with their dreadful system. Their technical helpline is no help.

In November 2007 I cancelled Orange broadband when they bought over Wanadoo (on the basis Orange sneakily tried to enforce a 12 month contract when they took over). As part of the transfer to my new provider (Sky) Orange erroneously cut me off early a week before the Sky was connected lesving me high and dry without broadband. Because of the inconvenience caused the Orange telephone service dept., after a lengthy and expensive call, agreed (and confirmed in a follow up telephone conversation) to ...

I can only add to the dismal reviews of this shockingly dreadful service provided by Orange. My broadband has been down for DAYS on occasion and there is very rarely a day when when my connection doesn't cut out at least 2 or 3 times in an evening. They keep informing me that their engineers have found a problem and that it has been fixed. But, within an hour of putting down the phone it starts again.

Please believ me when I say that this company is so bad they make the Labour Party and Peter Mandelson look decent.
When they were Wanadoo they were fine, switch to Orange and they are a nightmare. I have never ever been abused (sworn at) by a company before, but one of there employees did that. What did I do to warrant this? I asked why he wasn't technically capable of sorting my problem.

I have had Orange broadband since Freeserve days and am fairly satisfied. However, since I converted to wireless, there have been several hiccups! Keeps cutting out for no apparent reason, mostly on Sundays! Generally there are not many complaints, and whenever I had occasions to contact them, they have been quite helpful.

Always connected with reliable equipment, broadband never failed.
Orange broadband seems to have very inconsistant connection rates. I personally pay £18 per month for 6.5 meg but never seem to manage to attain more than 1meg at peak time (obviously capped), can get up to 5 meg if I download and browse the net between midnight and 4 in the morning.
In my opinion calls centres not equipped to talk proper technical issues, and if the word "cancel" is mentioned you're put straight through t ...

Serious mistake I made joining Orange 16 months ago. For a Max package in the first few months my speed was never over 1Mb. Then for the last 4 months connection just keeps dropping. Gave up with their customer service a long time ago. Will lose money for the 2 unused months but actually a lot happier and looking forward to moving to O2.

After a couple of times spending a lot of money for the privilege of speaking to people in India who I felt were totally ineffective and seemed like they were reading scripts I have had enough!I am leaving Orange...YIPPEE !It is with a little regret because if Orange only had the sense to realise that their Technical Department let them down badly they would probably be running a better than average service

I have been with Orange since Freeserve dial up (many years). I have upgraded two times and moved house. I have not had any problems on any of the upgrades, including the house move. The equipment has been sent out promptly and the customer service has been fine. In fact recently I dealt with UK helpdesks and they were excellent. My recent upgrade was for 8 meg and got nearly 6 - no complaints. price wise - very competitive.
I would like to see a way of monitoring Broadband useage, and the tech ...

Orange Broadband looks quite smart. After receiving half a meg download speed on a line that supports anything upto six meg for the last nine months, with numerous calls to people on the other side of the world who are obviosly reading off a card that has prompts, have decided to cancel my direct debit. I found that it will work for a while and then get gradually worse.

I was with Freeserve then Wanadoo from day one and the service was excellent apart from teething problems that come with new technology but help was always at hand and problems were resolved within the hour, then came Orange oh dear !! big mistake,i stayed with them first with broadband starter package.internet on and off sometimes for several hours sometime for several days.I phone Customer Care to be told everytime who they were and what they charge and phone calls may be recorded and the weath ...

Intermitent connection, disconnected service at least 10 time a day. Orange Broadband customer service is poor, after several attempts to resolve a connection problem (3 times referred by their technical support helpline to their engineers to test the line after at least 5 times going through the same technical tests) they said I would have to wait a month before they would consider that they had done all they coild to resolve the problem.

Through Out UK - People really dont respect. Today in an age where Vista and XP are the Operating systems, there are really backward people who still use Windows 95 & 98. Yet want technical Support. There are some who dont know what service they use and who is their ISP. Maximum dont know how to use a computer and really shout at the top of their voice and pass rude comments on.

I had my livebox setup for around 2 years, but was with the company since freeserve. The service worked okay, no major problems. Then one day my equpment just cooked and died. No more internet, no more xbox live, disaster. I phoned support immediately to have my livebox replaced. The conversation which followed was like a laurel & hardy routine. I'm not exaggerating when I say I've actually had blind, drunken and puking conversations which were more coherent. When you phone orange broadband, jus ...

In the past I have been the biggest critic of Orange Broadband. However a few weeks ago I had a prolonged connection problem which was the final straw. I found their Head Office direct line (via say no to 0870) I called and have since spoken to three very professional employees of Orange which got me a free upgrade in my package, three months free broadband, followed by a free wireless router that I did not have before. I therefore urge you, if you have problems to do the same. I must tell you t ...

Paying for Up to 8mb (I know I will not get 8mb) and recieving around 1.8-2.2 mb. My ping is around 90, which makes it near impossible to play any kind of online game. For example, When playing Call of Duty 4 on the Xbox, I get either 2 or 3 bars and lag really bad!
