Good Points: Good Vehicle
Bad Points: Charge £500 for a scratch 2cm long
General comments: Very difficult to deal with, did not return phone calls or emails. The car had a 2cm scratch on it when returned and they took £500 off the credit card. Rang up and got several quotes between £150 - £300 pounds to repaint the entire door (worse case) but 1 car 1 quote was £530 which just happened to be the full excess amount.

My advice would be to avoid using this company.
On Tuesday 15th July 2008 I was with friends when they returned a car to the Tottenham branch of 1car1. The 1car1 employee walked straight over to a pre-existing scratch on the vehicle and claimed the damage had been caused over the four day rental period.

After hiring a car with this company last December (07) and being accused of causing additional damage to the vehicle on its return I was stunned to be charged £500 excess and told if there was any money left following the repair it would be refunded to me.

I will never use this company again and I advise one and all to stay away. They provide terrible customer service and the money saved on the cheap initial price is not worth the payments you will have to make upon returning the vehicle. I returned my car after a 4 day rental only to discover that I had to shell out an extra £500 on the spot to pay for a scratch on the windscreen which was caused by a small rock. I have used 1car1 in most of their Scottish branches on many occasions and I would thoroughly recommend them for service, friendliness and value for money.

One of my worst rental experience. I had to wait more than 1.5 hour to get the car. The London Bridge branch is a long walk from the tube station. After a very long wait I finally got the car, but there was even more people waiting when I left. It was a bank holiday week end, but I would have expected the company to plan for this. I hired a car from 1Car1 to drive to Scotland. I left at 3.30 am and within 10 mins the car had broken down and left my wife and I stranded on the side of the road for over an hour while we waited for the AA. 1Car1 took almost 5 hours to then get a replacement vehicle and made me feel they were doing me a big favour. 1Car1 refused to refund me for the day I was unable to use the car because they felt they had done an 'incredible job' getting me another car.
