    Good Points: cheap, clean cars, always available,


    Bad Points: no real bad points unless you are looking for above average service!


    General comments: 1car1 Car Rental is cheap... anything cheap you are not going to get te same customer service as you would on a full price dal.......think easy jet.. if you understand this then it gets a thumbs up!

    Have rented from 1car1 Car Rental several times in Hull & had nothing but good service. Some have been long term rentals.

    Booked "1car1 Car Rental" online to have the car delivered to home address at 6pm. They sent an email confirming it would be delivered at 1pm. We phoned them to say 1pm not good please send at 6pm. They said they could not deliver then so I took half a day off from work for the 1pm delivery. Car didn't show so I phoned them.     1car1 Car Rentals are cheap if you manage not to damage the car in any way.Tiny scratch on car, they take the cost of rental, and three months later, no sign of any refund.

    Had read all the bad things about this company in fact decided not to rent from them at Heathrow due to the sudden increase in rates (christmas rates) seems they all get on the band wagon at big airports, but then decided to try a local rent at the city of Peterbough. Nice people price was very good, voiced my concerns about 1 car 1 but they seemed very helpful on return had the car inspected and signed as no damage by the return inspector, so far so good.     My hire was stolen from my house. I reported to the police who actually spoke to 1car1. But 1car1 refused to replace the car and will not enter a new agreement with me. I have effectively been dumped and left high and dry. What could have been a good customer service gesture has resulted in anger and frustration in trying to get a replacement car from somewhere else. Very bad and I do NOT recommend this company even though they maybe 'cheap'. I will NEVER use them again.

    Good point, the van was fine and did the job. Bad points. We hired the van from the London Bridge branch and (despite originally trying to give us a van where the side door didn't work) all seemed fine until 2 weeks after we returned the van a letter arrived explaining that they had charged a congestion charge fine plus £47 worth of admin for the Monday we had returned the van.     Edinburgh airport branch excellent. Will use again It is near airport and the speedy service more than made up for transfer time.

    Lost £370 on a tiny scratch on the bumper which appeared while car was on car park. 8 weeks into the process and still haven't received the £130 (out of the initial charge £500). Customers service extremely unreliable.

    I had rented 3 times from 1car1 and on all 3 occasions the cheap price of the rental had made up for the generally poor service I had received. Upon returning the final car however there was a query. It has taken over 8 week to try and sort out, and 1car1 are still being singularly unhelpful.

    Hired three times from Shepherds Bush branch. Was never a pleasant experience, but very cheap. The third time however they handed over the car fully covered in dust and after a rainy weekend found a small scratch on the door. Same story as others have experienced from then on: £500 immediately deducted, repaid only after months and many, many calls and emails, final invoice just over £500.Will never hire from them again.

    1st rental was faultless, good service cheap etc etc. 2nd time exactly as described by other reviewers. I returned vehicle with small scratch where someone had grazed me whilst in a car park and explain 3rd party damage. Imediately took £1000 from my card and now 3 months later I received a mystery refund of £539 after being told on the telephone (in one of my 100's of calls) that it would cost £144 -OK I thought.     I hired a car from here as it was cheap. A tiny stone pinged up and scratched the bottom of it. I was charged £500 and months of chasing up my money followed with absolutely no answers or help from anyone involved in the company. Not even when I contacted a manager at the head office.     Arranged to hire a car with 1car1. Our flight was running late so contacted them to advise (our flight was arriving at 9:30pm not 6pm). They said they would not collect us as their last pick up was 9:15pm. It was a bank holiday weekend and we were travelling with a small baby! Told them this and they said that didn't matter. Ended up being sorted out by Avis - who were extremely helpful and matched their price.

    I had to pay £500 for a scratch on door which conveniently appeared after car was returned. It is the first time i have dealt with this company and it will certainly be the last. I shall be dealing with Herta in future as i have never had any problems with them in the past. What you see is what you get and i would rather pay the extra money to a reputable car hire company than end up getting ripped off.     I've used the Heathrow branch many times and never had a problem. Once they were late picking me up by 20 minutes. I mentioned this to the manager and he discounted the car by one days rental. Also, after collecting one car in the rain, I called them later when it was dry to tell them of scratches that were not visible on collection, and they amended the damage sheet over the phone no problem.All in all, I've found them to be a professional organisation.

    We hired a car for 8 days in August 2007 from Tottenham Branch. We had been hiring from them for a while with no problems, in fact we had been impressed. The car had scratches and chips on it which were marked on the sheet. We paid to reduce our excess to £200. Wise move . They collected the vehicle from outside our house.     On the face of it a very good value company but with the predictable sting in the tail for cheapo - if something goes wrong with the car, in my case a small scratch, 1-Car-1 will take all the deposit, immediately, and have tried and tested means of holding onto it all. It may on balance be safer to go for a more well-established and reliable company than to risk being left badly out of pocket by 1-Car-1. From the company's point of view, they must be pocketing some nice profits!

    Very difficult to deal with, did not return phone calls or emails. The car had a 2cm scratch on it when returned and they took £500 off the credit card. Rang up and got several quotes between £150 - £300 pounds to repaint the entire door (worse case) but 1 car 1 quote was £530 which just happened to be the full excess amount.
