The K800i came out around summer '06. It was my choice as an upgrade from my "opal blue" (T-Mobile exclusive) D750i (different coloured/featured K750i equiv.) from summer '05. *** FEATURES *** (over and above basic phone features) * BATTERY LIFE * Sony Ericsson phones, in my experience at least, have always had sufficient battery life & performance to go days without needing a recharge. I'm glad to say, I still keep mine handy as a backup phone, and can leave it mostly unused (i.e. few if... (read more)

I am not a technology specialist, but I am a (sometimes problematic) regular user of several electronic devices, so I need something that's solid and doesn't break at its first fall or contact with watery substances - which my phone has seen in its life... I can say that if a device is Sonia-proof, the it really must be very good!I've had my Sony Ericsson K800i (bought from an Orange shop in Tirgu-Mures, Romania) for more than 3 years now and I must say it's been through rough times, but it... Good points:
I have had this phone now inbetween other phones as a kind of backup phone, whilst most of the other phones break with the hard use and time used on them the sony ericsson k800i seems to stick at it.
The other thing about this phone is the durability of it, i have dropped it several times from quite high places.. each time it has been picked up relatively scratch less...
The features on the phone are great and really useful and its internet browsing capabilities are also...

Hi the K800i is one of the best phones I have had. Its got a 3.2 MP Cyber-Shot camera which the lens in the camera is the same as a modern digital camera! It has a external memory card slot(M2). It has bluetooth. And it has USB Internet! 3G, RSS FEEDS, And many more! One of the main strengths of this phone is the Cyber-Shot camera! Also it has the same/better/similar functions as phones like W910i, W850i, W580i...... It has RSS Feeds and is very useful. It has USB Inernet which you can go... (read more)

I wrote a fantastic review for this phone a while back, but unfortunately it broke soon after and would never switch on without a blinking white screen. Couldnt fix it using sony erricsons website so gave up. It lasted me just over 1 year. Now im never using sony again. They are good on looks and packed with state of Art functions but very unreliable. (read more)

Very good phone with a crisp clarity. Survives many knocks and bumps and comes up smiling. Excellent 3.2mp camera which outstrips many 5mp cameras. Powerful xenon flash as used in proper digital cameras. Best Pic - take 9 shots just before the shutter id pressed and just after - excellent for moving subjects.
Excellent music player although not a walkman phone so it lacks some features, but it does the job well.

Overall, I like the K800i and is the first SE I've had. I know other people who have this phone and say it's great and reliable which is why I opted for this as an upgrade.I like the camera aspect of the phone, the editing facility, the flash and a 3.2 mp provides very good picture quality which are also easy to transfer to a pc. It took me a while to get used to the menu set up but it's easy and I like the rubbery feel of the keys. I've had no problem with the battery life. I find the... (read more)

I have had the Sony Ericsson K800i phone for over a year now, alongside two other fancy smart phones. But I still prefer using my K800i more than either of the two. One of my other phones is with 5MP camera, but side by side comparison of prints and files on my computer still leans on sharpness towards the k800i. I have used Nokias for sometime and K800i is my first SE. I would say I have not been disappointed and even am extremely satisfied. I don't think I need anything more to look for an... (read more)

I have a 4gig memory card for my Sony Ericsson K800i, and that is my only down point, it has over 500 pics and 1000 songs and it is now starting to get slightly slow when starting up. This phone has been dropped in 8 puddles, ran over by a car, dropped onto a concrete path from a tree, yet still survives without obvious dents, massive scratches or faults. The screen is protected if you drop it because the joystic breaks the fall (Great for a teenager), and is a solid phone . it has a great 3.2 mega pixel camera which can take motion pictures very well. it has a great flash and can take out red eyes.

I've had this phone for over a year and it's by far the best phone I've ever owned. And I've had plenty. It looks professional so it's a great business tool to be seen with too. With over 12 mths of use it still looks and works like a brand new phone. And I love the rubbery feel to the keys and the back of the phone. I like this phone. It's the first that I've had for more than a year without getting brassed-off with it.
The camera still amazes me with the image quality of the still photos that it can take, thanks to its high resolution, auto focus and decent flash. Shutter lag is slightly annoying and the video capture is rubbish but the camera's overall ability has meant that the 'proper' Sony camera I bought a week prior to the K800i has hardly been used.

Would recommend this phone for people who like to take photos, else don't bother as most of the cost of this camera is probably for the 3.2MP camera. The poor battery life really hinders the camera for heavy users.

Sony Ericsson K800i is a wonderful phone, superb picture facility, radio and all the usual features work to a high spec. The camera is capable of taking images that can be enlarged, without showing pixelation, to A5 size which is larger than most photographs get printed to.
If only the silly computer (PC) upload, download on screen program had been better thought out this could have been the icing on the cake. Whereas it is let down at the final hurdle.
