    Good Points: Accessible

Bad Points: Seemed to have very random performance from one rifle to the next.

General comments: My experiences of the "Parker Hale" are very mixed. One our batch was really good but the rest were mediocre to poor. Their bedding seemed very susseptible to water and oil contamination. I was lucky enough to moved to other match rifles and they all were soooooo much better.

the Parker-Hale L81-A2 is a soundly made rifle, it is capable of scores offered only by some custom rifles.

I've used this rifle for the last 2 years with a cadet force. It is far from perfect. Its quite heavy and the stock is too short even with the maximum of three butt-spacers.
The main disadvantage is that hardened steel super-conducts rust!
Also the single stage trigger is useless, its a bit like a shotgun you just have to guess when the things going to fire. New Cadets always take some time to get used to it.

The thing I loved most about this weapon is the fact the calibre is 7.62 mm. The L81A2 has outstanding range when I was using it on a range of 300 meters. The only bad point is the weight which is 5.2 Kgs.

As the standard Cadet 7.62 target rifle I have found the Parker-Hale L81-A2 to be highly accurate from 300 yards to 1000 yards. Shooting with this rifle at Bisley I have found it to be capable of holding its own against the Imperial customised target rifles that other people have bought.

After every 3000 rounds you must replace the barrel because the rifling has become warn out and ineffective which is a downside because the barrel costs £8000 !.
If you use high quality ammunition you ...
