    Hotpoint Aquarius WMA30

Of all the washing machines we have owned, this has proved to be the most reliable by far. We purchased our Hotpoint WMA30p in June 2000 and it is still going strong to this day. We have had no issues at all with the unit and it still looks as good as new. I agree that it is possible to have bad examples of washing machines, which we ourselves can attest too, with a very poor miele (yes Miele previously).

The Hotpoint Aquarius WMA30 is excellent machine once new drums were fitted. Before that New bearings were bought for 7p cheaper and every drum supplied failed within six months, which cost the company and Bosch were putting there motors in the machine, which did not work very well as when the machine was spinning it spiked the electronics.

Always used to buy Hotpoint products- THEN in 2000 we moved and bought new Wash machine, dishwasher and fridge - all Hotpoint again - ALL have been awful. We have had to mend Washing machine at least 15 times! We will never purchase Hotpoint products again. They used to be so reliable - seems that they are now built to last up to the 'guarantee end' point and thats it. If you want reliable goods - I don't recommend buying Hotpoint.

A few months after the warranty ran out the Aquarius WMA30 started to get noisier and noisier. Eventually I called out a Hotpoint technician and it turned out the bearings were corroded and disintegrated. Depsite letters etc Hotpoint would provide no help, despite the fact they had a known bearing problem on many of their washing machines. Avoid like the plague.
