    Good Points: My husband and I spent a most enjoyable two weeks on the Costa Dorada staying at the Esmeralda apartments situated between Salou and Cambrils. All staff in the hotel were kind, helpful and efficient. Cleaning was good in public areas and in accommodation. You could have clean towels and dishtowels every day except Sunday if you wished simply by exchanging dirty for clean at the on-site laundry. Accomodation adequate and beds quite comfortable. Swimming pool and area round it small - but kept very clean. Beach was a few minutes stroll away. Internet accessible in ground floor location and payphone just outside. Plenty places to walk around - nice sea front path to Cambrils and to Salou. Bus stops close by. Good location generally


    Bad Points: Only one supermarket close by. Other smaller shops in the area not good - with no prices displayed and rather elderly-looking fruit and veg. If you have restricted mobility then it could be a bit awkward getting around to other places although taxi rank is located in a side street close by


    General comments: Excellent overall - helpfulness of staff really good; good location; clean. Easy to access beach and walks. Handy for buses although train station further away in Salou - either walk for 30 minutes. Note - Trains to Barcelona and to Tarragona are much cheaper than the buses - get a return ticket for the train to save even more! Quite a saving overall especially if there are two or more people in your party. We would go back to the area and would stay at the Esmeralda

    My family and our friends stayed in this apartment block, and we have all said that we would go back any time. We all had such a great time, and the staff were all good people as well, like the two brothers, the lovely receptionist and the young dutch bar man. They all made my family and friends welcome. It was a scream.

    We had a fantastic holiday at the Esmeralda Apartments in Cambrils, Salou, and we will be going back soon.
