Good Points: Combat is second to none in MxO. Also the interchangable skills has not been seen like this in another game of its type. The locations are suitably barren and desolate to start with but eventually move on to more impressive buildings as you traverse through the massive city scape. If you decide you want to use combat skills for a particular missions then visit a hardline and reconfigure yourself for the upcoming mission.
Bad Points: Still a wee bit buggy in some areas. Targets not being there when they should be. Revolving doors that will not let you in the building.
General comments: Matrix: Online is a fantastic game if you are a fan of either The Matrix series and/or MMORPG's.
The game basically takes place after Revolutions has ended. Neo's body is still with the machines after he saved all three groups (Humans, Machines and Exiles) but the machines will not return his body. This is where the story starts.
The game is played in the city Metro World. It is huge. Running around at the start gives you an impression of this but with transport involving Hardline (Travelling the city using phonelines) or the city's subway system lets you understand how huge this playing area is.
The scope for changes and addons to this game is massive.
Combat is simple to understand but is very taxing. Use standard attacks ranging from using guns to Martial Arts tecniques like everyones favourite, Kung Fu.
One of the best parts of the game is when you hit Level 10 and can now get the Hyper Jump power. Jumping from building to building is such a blast. Think of yourself standing on top of a skyscraper watching fighting between other players like some sort of Guardian Angel then jumping down and saving the players who are on your side of the conflict is such a rush.
I could go on for a long time telling you how good this is.
DON'T LISTEN TO MAGAZINE REVIEWS.
They will want to slate this game (either because they didn't like the Matrix or just because it is a critics way to slate hyped up things) but buy it.
If you have the cash for the monthly account then do it.
The Matrix Online is an impressive game for the first outing for Sega in the MMORPG world (I think) and I beleive Monolith and Sega have done a great job in bringing this to the game world.
With all the possibilties this game can deliver due to the nature of the Matrix this game can only go from strength to strength.
Welcome...To the Real World.
