    Good Points: Could have been enjoyable, useful location, all places on the Island were within walking distance. Lovely people, pleasant Island. Of course any place is fun depending on who you go with, so it is not that we did not have time to enjoy ourselves, it is that we could not use the Villa, with our own pool, as intended. The noise from the construction work was unbearable we had to leave it and get out and about.


    Bad Points: Where do we start, other Villas creating noise, screaming children, shouting parents, loud music until 3 a.m. The noise from the drilling and we mean heavy industrial caterpillar tractors drilling through rock foundations at the local hotel. From 0800hrs until 1730hrs if we were lucky! Not a beach holiday, there is only one decent beach and that is not very good, no matter how much they recommend it.
    Too much construction work going on all over the Island so do not go there for another 5 years, heavy trucks, house construction and road building taking place.
    Malta seemed better on the drive back to the airport, some very nice beaches and clear blue waters.


    General comments: The Villas look good in the brochures but remember that they may be next to or attached to others. There is no accounting for the type of neighbours that you may end up with. Gozo is a quiet relaxing island only spoiled by noisy, drunk groups who lived in the other Villas. James Villas also neglected to inform us that there were excavations going on within 10 meters of the Villa and the noise was unbearable. The holiday was burdened with this noise for the whole two weeks. The other alternative accomodation offered was just as bad with men working on James Villas accomodation next door, tiling and banging around. The third Villa offered had young people shouting and screaming, so much for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. So be warned. The brochures look great but unless the other Villas are miles away, forget it! When bringing this to the attention of James Villas holidays they did not show any interest in helping or part refunding the holiday, so we are seeking legal advice. Three other families were effected by this noise problem so it is not just a one off!

    Do not say you have not been warned! Best wishes.

    Gozo is just excellent! Beautiful island, beautiful food, beautiful weather & such friendly people! Paradise!
