Just got back from the Grand Coco Bay all inclusive resort in Mexico and must say my girlfriend and I absolutely loved it. Some reviews mentioned the food was not good... thats ridiculous!!!! The food was excellent, the access to the beach was incredible! The resort was so well kept and clean, staff was very nice. Because it is protected by a reef boats anchor 25 yards off of the hotel beach but its nice and picturesque to see boats bobing up and down then to stare into the oblivion of... (read more)

I was planning my 30th wedding anniversary trip to Hawaii. I began working with an agent and she had a lot of good ideas. I had to keep bugging her about follow through and she left me hanging. How disappointing... I guess they did not want my business.. I was nice and professional... Go with another agency don't waste your time. My plane tickets went up and I have bad flight times. We have not gone on the actual Viking River Cruise yet (which has nothing to do with VTG anyway) but the results so far have not been impressive: wrong trip title on invoice, wrong balance on invoice (I owed them more), delays in processing credit card with Viking but poor follow-up at their end, unanswerwed phone messages, unanswered emails, non-response from shift supervisor, etc. When asked about the above, there was not much explanation or concern. Everytime I found a price for a cruise and tried to book it - the price went up several hundred dollars - or I just missed the special because the agent was not working the last day of the sale so too bad for me - then was told I would get some credit and didn't get what I was led to believe - the whole thing felt like not in their integrity - not really trying to help me - just trying to make as much money as they could and never mind about my unhappiness at being charged $400 more than I... I've had nothing but fantastic experiences booking with this agency. I've booked two cruises (2009,2006), three tours(2002,2005), and a safari(2011). I must have saved anywhere from 30% to 60% just by booking with Vacations To Go. My husband did the booking back in the nineties and we always went over our budget. From what I've found, not very many agencies will actually price-match and guarantee great service. I would also like to say that, although my Vacations To Go agent did seem busy... (read more)

Research trip insurance before you buy it. Don't buy from the same travel agency you book with. In spite of a rather unhelpful VTG employee who sold our group of four useless insurance the cruise was fine. The cruise director was great. The concierge staff at one hotel was outstanding and, other than standing in freezing rain for 45 minutes, everything was OK until I became too sick to return to the US. We have booked with other agencies, but never found an agent like Victor Ext 7505 (@ Vacations to go) to be as courteus, patient, dedicated and prompt at assisting us. Booked other cruises with Vacations to Go, and I'd been happy. Maybe the management has changed recently or something like that. Just booked a cruise through the group department for a group of 20+ people and the service is horrible. The "supervisors" do not want to be bothered to do anything about it. Won't return calls, are rude.... etc. I'd try a different company if I were you, and for sure I will not book there again. (read more)

It's easy to deliver customer satisfaction when all goes well, but since the measure of a company is how they handle mistakes, Vacations To Go fails to make the grade.
Our story. After extensive research, we chose a cruise to celebrate our parents' 55th anniversary: two rooms, five people. We've used VTG before but this time, Vacations to Go booked only our parents' cabin, although charged us properly for the two cabins ordered. By the time we discovered the error, the cruise was...

Vacations to go is not a very honest company. They perform bait and switch on their deals. They cost my husband and I a crusie by not calling to book. The "management" is rude and does provide any service. They tell you they will honor any deal and once you ask about the deal, they refuse to honor the service. We have been on 25 cruises and trying to get the booking straight for our 26th with Vacations To Go has been a nightmare. This, along with many other travel agencies is a pass through device for ship's trying to sell cabins. I do not recommend Vacation to Go. I have been troubled recently and before with their expertise (just sales) and helping individuals with true, identifiable problems. I found this review not helpful because...this is not a review it is a rant, and a ridiculous one at that. All cruise lines advertise their rates as based on double occupancy. If a private room could be booked for the same price as double occupancy, everyone would want a private room. (I know my wife would!) Do the math....The ship would be half-full and generate half the revenue--unless of course they doubled the price for everyone. Then they could run a special--half price for anyone willing to share a room!
Written on: 03/06/2010
I agree with the above comment on this review and I could not have said it better myself. Every company advertises Double Occupancy rates, and all companies have a Single Supplement-- yes, supplement. You never pay the same price, but your price is much higher at a per person rate. It's just like renting a 2 bedroom apartment: Just because you want to live there alone doesn't mean that they are going to give it to you for 1/2 of the rental rate!

P.S. This has absolutely nothing to do with Vacations To Go as a company. This is a beef that you, and all other single travelers, have with the Cruise and Tour Operators of the world. You can't hold a travel agency reponsible for that.

We had our first major problem with them this year in that we booked a specific cabin on a Princess Ship to Norway. Princess decided to, (so called), upgrade us without letting us know. On many occasions the cruise lines will have a promotion and a customer will pick up on that promotion. Then several months later either the cruise line will go up or down depending on supply and demand. On some occasions the cruise line will offer a highly reduced rate that is not applicable to passengers that are already booked. This customer does not have an adequate complaint, merely because the cruise line was trying to book up their vessel. As for the bait and switch totally uncalled for. This customer probably tried to get the rate lowered after final payment, inwhich the cruise line will not lower rates within 60 days prior to the sail date. If this person had not booked then and then booked later they would have probably waited to long called the company late and would have not been able to get the lower rate due to the fact that it would have been sold out and would have been the companies fault once again.
