Good Points: Their website has an enormous amount of information to do with mortgages, insurance, selling endowments, foreign property etc
Bad Points: The web site could do with a makeover to bring it up to date.
General comments: I found the Mortgage Arrangers website by searching in Google and filled in the form for some free quotes.
I got emailed some examples of the mortgages that i could afford on my salary, and emailed back to say i wanted to talk to someone.
Very quickly i was phoned and was able to ask a hundred and one questions about the whole mortgage process and what i should be doing and preparing for.
The broker listed all the documents i needed to gather together, payslips, utility bills etc and took me through a dummy application process to make sure i would qualify for the amount i was asking for, and how much a month it would cost me.
I had already found one property i was interestd in, but after talking to the broker i realised i could actually afford another one that i initially thought was out of my reach.
New quotes were prepared and the C&G looked the best at the time.
The best bit of all was when he ran my details through his "mortgage finding system" when my offer was accepted by the woman selling the house, only to discover that a new mortgage had just come out which was with Abbey and would cost less.
i now had a few choices but opted for the Abbey fixed rate, so i would know where i stood for the next 2 years.
It was the first time i had tried to get a mortgage arranged by using the internet, but soon realised that the internet and the mortgage arrangers website was only the way of making an initial contact and receiving mortgage quotes.
After that the telephone, email and Royal Mail (do they still call themselves that?) played their part.
I was also able to arrange my home insurance and mortgage payment protection through the Mortgage Arrangers website, simply by filling in some online short forms.
One final thing that i found very, very useful...... there is a mortgage calculator on the website, and i was able to view property details then type in the amount of mortgage i would need to buy it, enter the interest rate off the quotes he sent and see how much my monthly mortgage payments would be if i bought that particualr property.
Oh and one last thing which was a really important factor..... there is a link on their website that allows you to type in the properties post code and see what the risk of flooding is from the environmental flood map. That alone influenced buying one of the properties i was looking at in Tewkesbury. The property looked fine from the ground, but the flood map showed a problem, and a bit of asking around the local shopkeepers confirmed the potential for flooding.
All in all a very worthwhile first dabble into the field of using my PC to get my mortgage and all the other bits arranged.
None of this would have happened, though, if there wasn't a real live human being of a broker at the end of the phone to answer all my stupid questions and patiently guide me through the gobbledegook of finacing a house purchase.
I will use theses people again for sure, and would recommend anyone else to give them a try.
Nothing to lose and everything to gain.
Its very user friendly and aimed squarely at the person who wants to get a mortgage to buy a home but have a group of proffessionals standing in the background steering and guiding round the potholes. They must really enjoy their job.
Thanks Mortgage Arrangers you deserve a big pat on the back

Never used an internet mortgage broker before, and compared 4 before going with Mortgage Arrangers. Their mortgage broker found a better remortgage deal than i had, and went ahead and arranged it for me.
I especially liked the way everything was explained to the point that I understood it all.
I will use them again- Read Shirley Benton's review (81 words)

Once one of the Mortgage Arrangers brokers made contact by email, and we were able to use the phone, email and normal post to get everything sorted out. I was able to organise the whole shooting match from my desk at work (luckily the boss didn't mind, as I would otherwise have to take time off).
If you can imagine having a "hand holder" at the end of the phone/email who knows all there is to know abut mortgages and insurances, and answers everything you need to know, then that's what you get ...- Read Not born yesterday's review (152 words)

I was able to get an initial response to my Spanish euro mortgage enquiry the same day from Mortgage Arrangers, with the British broker phoning me from Spain to introduce himself and explain procedures.
I filled in the form here, and they have got me a "yes" from one of the Spanish banks, and now I start the search for my holiday home.- Read Sun Worshiper's review (85 words)
