    Good Points: Lovely beach-side location.


    Bad Points: Food OK, but not great.


    General comments: The Hotel Tourist in Cefalu is a nice little hotel. It was clean. Staff were friendly, and the hotel is in a great position, just across a very quiet road from a lovely stretch of sandy beach. The bar area was very good, with occasional evening entertainment. The rooms were OK. They were a bit on the small side, but we upgraded to a sea view, so the balcony made it a bit better.

    The only downside was the food! Breakfasts were fine, with the usual range of Italian, German and English food to choose from. However, the evening meals were a bit disappointing. For a small hotel, the food seemed to be very "mass produced", and on several occasions we went out to local restaurants, even though we had booked half board, just because we couldn't face another evening meal at the hotel! I hope they sort out this minor problem, as it is a good hotel, and Cefalu is a beautiful place to visit.
