Just purchased the Chinese Version Winchester 500XS from TSC October 2012 (on sale for $99.99). Unit looked to be made sturdily, but would not fire. Returned unit and replacement would not fire either!!! Aren't these test fired before leaving the plant??? The end of the barrel where the pellet is inserted was not reamed properly to accept any standard .177 pellet skirt. Pellets could not be inserted deep enough by hand. The only way I could get it to fire was to force the pellet a… Read Full Review

im 16 and just got this today. my dad has the Ruger Blackhawk and i wanted something to compete with him. so far its a great gun, although the scope is incredibly hard to set compared to the ruger. i love the tru-glo fiber optic sights. it feels fairly powerful and as far as i can tell, is AMAZINGLY accurate. the ruger has more power, but the winchester is a better aimed shot. at a fraction of the cost to the $250 ruger, go with the $130 winchester. its very comparable. Pros: accuracy, style… Read Full Review

As the rest of the reviews state, this is a very accurate gun. I managed to zero in on a tin target 3" in diameter and hit it from about 80 metres away with excellent consistency. The problem is it's a pain to break the barrel and you have to beat it up a little to load it. Scope is sweet though, and with the accuracy this rifle provides, it's well worth the extra strain. Overall, it's a good rifle, but not the best I have had… Read Full Review

The Win 500X (XS) is a basic break barrel .177 detuned to shoot under 500 fps. There are many versions of this rifle some are made in China, some in Turkey. Mine is made in Turkey, it's a re-badged Hatsan 35S - and has a dark walnut hardwood sporter stock. Fit and finish are good. It's relatively loud and harsh out of the box with a very very heavy trigger. The trigger can be reworked to make it tolerable, and good lube tune helps smooth the shot cycle. Accuracy seems stuck in the 1.5"… Read Full Review

I bought this gun 2 weeks ago called Winchester 500X which is made by daisy and LOVED it. it is the best gun i ever used this is my second air rifle my old one is a crosman which is a fairly good but thus Daisy Winchester 500X beats the snot out of my crosman.it has a heavy thick steel barrel which leads to quality and better accuracy. it is made extremely well i bought it for 130$ at walmart. the scope it comes with is a very good brand it takes about t30 minutes to set and stays set! i like… Read Full Review

I bought this gun from Air Gun Source for $120 cdn(with scope combo), and it has been my favourite gun so far. It has INCREDIBLE accuracy...I can hit a dime size target at 15 metres. The scope that came with the gun works very well, with ajustable objective down to 15 feet. The recoil is a bit hard, but nothing to bad for a springer. All I can say is if you want accuracy, at a great price this gun will not dissapoint!!… Read Full Review

I find the Winchester 500XS to be great all around; I owned a single shot "bolt-action" pellet rifle prior to this one and I find this one 10X better.
-Its accurate when sighted
-The recoil is minimum but enough to let you know it fired
-Very well built; isnt gonna fall apart after a shot
-Handles nicely but can feel heavy after some time
-Fairly cheap to buy and easy to use.
I have seen many complaints regarding how "stiff" the barrel is when you first use it; mine was smooth and easy from… Read Full Review

I've owned the Winchester for a bit over a week now, and everyday, I can't wait to get outside and shoot. This is my first AirRifle, and I must say, it is a beauty. The Scope is Mounted with Thumb Screws for easy mounting and dismounting. It takes about 5 minutes to set your zero. Depending on your style, the Fibre Optics Iron sight is also very lovely. I don't know which one I like aiming with most of the time, Ironsight? or Scope? I was shooting quarters around 40 feet away, 9/10 hits on my… Read Full Review

I bought this Daisy Winchester 500x gun on vacation to just sit on the porch, drink, and shoot. i was very pleased with it so i left it there and baught another when i got home!
Out of the box i was imediately pleased with this gun, its just so well made, for the money. its weight is perfect and its solid except for the plastic trigger. the scope is very nice but near 200 feet something more powerful would be nice. it is fairly accurate but it has a good kick and because of the bad feel… Read Full Review

In this price range, BUY THIS GUN ! I had a Airmaster 77 for about 300 shots and I returned it to canadian tire. It could not equal the power of a canadian tire Beeman pistol P-17 (made in china) unles you pumped it at least 7-8 times. I picked this rifle up at walmart for 150 and there is NO COMPARISON ! I could not sight the cheap Remmington scope after 90 mins.. I sighted the Winchester in 20 mins. The scope is beautiful and easy to adjust - the 77 is cheap, flimsy and difficult.. The Remmy… Read Full Review

I would deffintlely get this gun again i mean come on it s a winchester. enough said. Mine is pretty much useless now cause the rifleing is ruined probobly my fault from loading to fast but still i dont think the rifling should be that delicate. now its just for display. if i shoot it than its not accurate and 2 out of 3 times the pellet jams in the barrel. Its very accurate and gorgous wood stock make it my first choice. easy to break the barrel. looks good on display its just awsome… Read Full Review
