Good Points: A lot of atm's

    Bad Points: Everything else

General comments: I am currently serving in the U/S Army and I was approached by A BankofAmerica representative to change my direct deposit account to the Bof! on base. I did so thinking things would be more convenient expecially for me being a new banker. It has been 6 years since that faithfull day and the only thing that this bank is good at is taking my hard earned money. This lastest incident was the final straw. I am currently on vacation in England and I purchased some batteries online for my R/C aircraft. While checking out I realized that the amount was wrong and i was being heavily overchared. I did my best to exit out before the transactoin went through then i contacted the bank to be sure. When I did so online I could see a hold for the transaction had been posted. I contacted the payee and i was informed that my order never went through and they are not recieving payment of any sort from me. When I contacted my bank to put a stop to the payment i was told that my only option was to allow the money to be deducted and only then can I disput the payment. This is my predicament, I have no one to dispute with because the money is heading to an anonymous entity. My account is frozen and I can't spend a dime even on food. Bank of America will do nothing to assist me knowing that I am in a foreign country with no money despite the fact that I have positive funds in my account. Now, I'm starving and begging for change in the U.K. awaiting my return date or my bank to do something to help. This is no way to treat a soldier.

I have used many banking web sites over the years, and Bank of America's is the worst. They use terminology that confuses the simplest tasks, their automatic bill pay system is poor constructed, and finding answers on their web site is unnecessarily difficult. They need to do a better job of designing the site for their customers, not their employees.

This is the worst online banking site I have ever used. It's worst than North Fork Bank and that's terrible. I consistently have difficulty signing on and the site is generally not user friendly. I enjoy online banking as I currently using American Express, Citi, Discover, HSBC and two credit union sites. However, the Bank of American has wasted a lot of my time and has been a great source of frustration.

Bank of America's online banking is a great resource to use when it comes to rectifying you account. Online access enables the customer to see exactly what the Customer Service Reps see. It's a great tool for those who like to monitor their account activity.

As far as bad points for online banking, the only one I can think of is if the computer system is down.

I love the fact that I can review my account activity from home. The fees that Bank of America charges is another story, but as ...

The Bank of America website uses three authentication factors. Once you mess one up, heaven help you get back online. I have spent a whole afternoon trying to restore service, with two trips to my local bank. Their tech support people just have you repeat the same sequence again and again. It doesn't work, and they have you do it again. You ask then to escalate and they refuse. The online banking is hard to use when it works, and when there's a problem it's a nightmare. And their tech sup ...
